He is this generation's next manifestation of blues and soul and rocknroll and rock. He is America's leading musician, the most talented one at least. And he'll lead the whole world into a future of REAL music. Thank you Mr Gary Clark Jr.
0:00 Intro 🍎💖💕 0:19 Ain't Messin 'Round 5:45 Travis County 9:15 A short introduction of the band 9:53 When My Train Pulls In 16:16 Numb For the timestamp for myself and some more latecomers! This live gig is really dope! Hats off to Gary Clark Jr.!
His name is Johnny Bradley. He was friends with my parents some 20 years ago. It was always a treat to watch him live especially if he had his stand-up.
i think i've seem this video more than 100 times, but i'm still watching this video. Cool guitar and Nice voice of Gary, you are my present hero and rollmodel. I absolutely respect you Gary
Bob Jones Nothing, but he is generally considered to be a blues artist, tho he certainly crosses into rock too. In his 'artists den' interview, he said, "...blues, r&b, rock, it's all the same to me...".
If this isn't a live album, idk what is. This KEXP brings out the best in performers. Gary Clark's material really shines stripped down like this, without the overproduction and the glitter. Really great music. Thank you, KEXP.
One day at work, I had my Pandora playing through my phone when I heard this song for the first time. I stopped everything I was doing to see what I was hearing. I have been a fan ever since! This dude is the truth!
Thank you KEXP, I just found an artist again, who is really worth to listen. I wish all of you a happy new year, and I also wish so much great music! :-) Cheers from Hungary!
Gary was Ace at Glastonbury, fantastic solos! He really gets the dynamics of building to a crescendo. It was pouring rain but everybody forgot the crazy torrents he is hypnotic & humble no hideous ego, a true talent.
That sound was …king Awesome!!! 👏🏼 that got my engine running this morning...in addition to my coffee and it tastes better with this music before working
LOOK AROUND there are rock/blues acts all over the place. Just only a handful are getting noticed. Good music is always around. Don't look on the top 40 charts or any charts to find good music. dig and dig and dig and buddy you will find some amazing artists
i heard him Monday nite at Freedom stage in delaware!!!He was incredible!!!!!! He never stopped for over2 hrs!!!!His encore was the best i have ever heard!!!!!!!!!!!!! He rared back and i went to another place!!!!!!! Even some Stevie Ray Faces!!!!!!!!!! He is SO talented and a teenage girl in his school when he was growing up taught him how to play !!!I luv their story!!!!!! If you get the chance hear him!!!!!
I hope you people out there acknowledge the rhythm guitarist as he is the backbone to Gary Clark Jnr songs especially when my train comes is the conductor to a lot of riffs and knows when Gary needs this or that I love this guy
Loving it, sounds like a Maestro Fuzz or a Big muff in the neck pickup and the tone rolled down, he uses a Slash Signature Wah, a Reverb/Tremolo Strymon Flint, the red and purple pedals, i can´t identify them, "Jimi still alive?" no it´s Gary Clark Jr"
SOoooooooooo good, zapata kills it, as usual -- love that casino. Kind of refreshing that the interviewer does such a good job by just letting them play, very enjoyable -- LOVE GC!
clark vibe. all these guys when they get this good.i would not want to pit them together !!!strings be flying .speakers scacklin, guitars shashed. fingers bleeding and mouths droped to the floor !!! badass
That bass player CLEARLY understands the concept of "less is more". Understated, and right where it needs to be, keeping the tempo and filling out the sound. Bass players take notes, this guy is what bass is supposed to bring to the sound of a band.
Great stuff Gary. I’ve only been learning myself guitar for four years. I’m well familiar with all the great blues men through loving great music. But I need to let you know…… F#*kin pure original stuff here. Really enjoy the feel and vibe of your sound. Keep it up 👍🎸. ☘️ love to see you in Liverpool
I love how Travis County before was called Shotgun Man, and was completely different lyric wise. Travis County is probably my favorite Gary Clark Jr. song
this kid is a genius with the guitar, vocals and as a composer. kindly do not waste any time comparing him to any past musicians.
No one else on the planet captures the power of live performance as well as the KEXP video crew. Not sure there's even a close second.
andyinoregon check out audiotree
Tiny Desk Concert is really nice
The crossroads video of GCJ beg to differ :p
I enjoy House of Strombo quite a bit, though I find the performer list is lack luster for now
Tiny Desk concert too

Might be the most chill bass player in the galaxy
+The Luke Austin Band also solid as fuck, I want him.
His name is Johnny Bradley. He was friends with my parents some 20 years ago. It was always a treat to watch him live especially if he had his stand-up.
Have you heard of John Entwistle???
jimothyshorts Are you fucking with me?
check out Mustafunk bass player, that is extreme
When you hear that dude once, he is good. When you hear him again he is great. Nice sound, nice band
Hey from Austin Texas. This was some of the best blues in our town except for SRV. I'm a native Texan. Best place for blues in the world.
That performance of Numb....goddamn.
The drummer on ‘when my train pulls in’ - just blew my frickin mind - absolute genius drumming dude !!!!!

He's a Grammy winner , excellent music
He's not a Grammy winner. Why? You said it yourself: excellent music. Most people winning Grammies today are shit.
Actually he did win a Grammy a few months ago. He is one of the few real musicians I respect to win one in recent years. Enjoy the good music!
BoarhideGaming You should check Snarky Puppy, their song Lingus, anyway they're a Grammy winner too
Awesome voice. Great style. This guy is a rock and roll miracle.
Or blues, r&b...
tubewatcher38 What's wrong with rock?
Bob Jones Nothing, but he is generally considered to be a blues artist, tho he certainly crosses into rock too. In his 'artists den' interview, he said, "...blues, r&b, rock, it's all the same to me...".
This sounds like rock and roll to me. Since blues develop that genre with artist like T bone walker and BB king etc
Maybe " rock with a heavy blues influence... "
If this isn't a live album, idk what is. This KEXP brings out the best in performers. Gary Clark's material really shines stripped down like this, without the overproduction and the glitter. Really great music. Thank you, KEXP.
the two guitar sonic assault !
the thunderous bass !!
fuckin mesmerizing !!
The performances produced by KEXP are often way better than any released albums.
the solo on "When My Train Pulls In" is something transcendental
Gary is the real shit...the Music playing the man, and it's beautiful.
One day at work, I had my Pandora playing through my phone when I heard this song for the first time. I stopped everything I was doing to see what I was hearing. I have been a fan ever since! This dude is the truth!
Same here. Pandora showed me Left Lane Cruiser too.
Thank you KEXP, I just found an artist again, who is really worth to listen.
I wish all of you a happy new year, and I also wish so much great music! :-)
Cheers from Hungary!
He's not Hendrix but he IS Gary Clark Jr., soon to be legend!
Gary Clark Jr. is now on my list to hear.
That last song is rockin'!!!
This is some of the best music I've ever heard! Totally got a new fan, Gary! That fat fuzz box tone on the 3rd song was wicked!
It’s the blue Hendrix fuzz face
yeah, brought some hazy feeling to the solo... hazy bluesy cool stuff
When was the last time someone like this came around? As always this guy kills it!
There are guys like this everywhere! He just so happens to be more popular/successful. If you like this check out Tyler Bryant & The Shakedown
Tyler Miles There is a reason he is more popular/successful and if you cant feel it I am concerned for you Tyler! Peace bro
Gary was Ace at Glastonbury, fantastic solos! He really gets the dynamics of building to a crescendo. It was pouring rain but everybody forgot the crazy torrents he is hypnotic & humble no hideous ego, a true talent.
Hell yeah. Doesn't get much better.
GCjr & DBII are the best young Guitar Gods!
Life changing guitar solo at 14:00

Four expert-level musicians up there. The mix is damn near perfect. Excellent bass and drumming, and Gary sounds great with the second guitarist.
This man is so talented and he’s alive as heck!
Just know I appreciate your talent and music kicks ass thank you from big Mike in Pasadena
This guy is much better than I expected; very nice guitar playing!

Awesome just awesome ....really
Awesome. What isn't he more popular?
Fran Gavilan The true musicians with the real talent don't get air play.
Zapata!!! amazing!!
SOoooooooooo good, zapata kills it, as usual -- love that casino.
Kind of refreshing that the interviewer does such a good job by just letting them play, very enjoyable -- LOVE GC!
Just love Gary clark.
Now and here a new favourite for my playlist has born.

I really can't physically process the fact that someone could put dislike on any of the KEXP's video

PHEW !!! I Feel Numb. What a player.
Gary Clark Jr. is one of the best Blues/Rock vocalist right now. Just amazing.
Damnit!!! Austin, Texas produces some damned good musicians.
That bass player CLEARLY understands the concept of "less is more". Understated, and right where it needs to be, keeping the tempo and filling out the sound. Bass players take notes, this guy is what bass is supposed to bring to the sound of a band.
4:00 That guitar sound !!
