Thanks for the video, i did this repair today and this video was of great help. For anyone thinking to do this repair. You only need to remove the right side and don’t need to clear the light and handles and the belt for middle Seat. This gives just enough room to work with if you approach it a little bit from the side :)
You don’t need a code reader. Changing the battery should remove the fault. If not, disconnect the 12v battery for 10 minutes and reconnect. Fault should go away.
Bmw forums.we bought an obd adapter. Bought full bimmercode app. Find Meldung 0299 on menu. Choose Nicht activ, go back and hit Code. Turned off our stupid emergency call message!!!
?? Pas besoin de retirer tout cela juste démonter partiellement les 2 petits cotés triangulaires et ensuite l'arrière du ciel de toit et attache ceinture de sécurité.
WTF BMW? 60€ for the part, 400€ for the labour, not a joke...but here´s the best part: when that fault pops up, you will fail the german roadworthiness test (TÜV), means you are technically not allowed to keep driving without fixing it. Welcome to capitalism...

crazy bmw design
Must be nice doing a job that keeps your hands clean 🙌🏻😎🔧
👍👍 nice cushy job this one
Dumbest design EVER! BMW should be ashamed of themselves!
Is it essential to disconnect the main battery beforehand to clear the dashboard fault?
This has just come up on my car can I just change the battery and not delete the code as I haven’t got a code reader cheers really helpful video👍🏼

Hi, anyone knows the location of the SOS module in a pre lci F20? literally no info or video on jt :(
Great video. Is it just a case of clearing the fault code when the new battery is fitted? Is there no programming needed?
yeah thats it mate, just clear all the codes 👍
@@diydaly Thank you. 😀
I tried to do this, but there was no box where the battery should be in? I have 2017 model. How is this possible? I get the exact same message.
Just to be clear, the white box is missing in my car
I’ve not come across one without it tbh mate!
Thank you for the response! I'll try again.
Very Good! Topppp
Thanks!
Isn't there a way to just deactivate this function all together?
No that I’m aware off mate

Can be coded off.
Wow, all that work just to change a SOS battery - fortunately I got a car without SOS-system...
🤣 I know but involved isn’t tit!
Yeah it makes BMW a lot of money

I’ve done a few where you can squeeze you hand in but was a bit tight on this model
Thats A LOT
