I by mistake said that Atsuko Nishida designed Eevee when it was in fact Motofumi Fujiwara, the only other person to help Sugimori design Gen 1 Pokemon other than Nishida and Shigeki Morimoto. (Programmer/ other staff member I mentioned) For some reason I associated her with Eevee since she's a big fan of Eevee, and went on to design all of its non Gen 1 Eeveelutions.

I actually didnt know whole the time that gardevoir can be male until i didnt found one in generation 8 game but in anime they introduced only female and in the previous games i only saw a female gardevoir and male gallade and i though if its female it will always be only gardevoir and if male only goes into gallade and when i saw male gardevoir made no sense to me at all

#16 - Pokemon based on items are not because Gamefreak is running out of ideas. One of the most common youkai are objects that came to life. Being a Japanese game series, of course they'll constantly refer back to that. I would not be shocked if we got an Umbrella Pokemon one generation due to this

2 years later that got me laughing
I once ran into a guy who insisted that the first episode of Pokemon Generations was based on the pokemon adventures manga, I told him multiple times that it was based on what the game Red (probably) did in the 3 years between gens 1 and 2 and FRLG and HGSS, but he didn't believe me and started acting stupid. Ah whatever.

In the games it seems to just look for people trying to warn them or acidently hitting them with dark void thats how the ghost girl in gen 5 came to be (if we can believe matpads theory about the story) and the young boy in gen 4
I always thought calling the Legendary Beasts 'dogs' felt wrong, simply because Raikou looked more like a sabretooth cat to me. So nice to know I was on the right track with that one! :-)

Also, Gardevoir's Japanese name is "sānaito", or "sir knight". Meaning its species isn't strictly female. It's 'dress' is most likely meant to be like a flowing cloak of some kind. Its Mega Evolution is prodominantly female, so to me, it's a little weird. But if you like that, then who am I to judge your opinion?
Gardevoir is based of the principle dancer, which can be male or female. You learn something new everyday!

The Gardevoir can only be female thing is mainly because Gallade can only be male, which fans seem to think must mean Gardevoir can only be female even though the evolution methods are different (level 30 vs dawn stone)
Also remember that the Machop line can all be female too. It's funny to have a Female Machamp and a Male Gardevoir on the same team

So I spent an hour in pokemon emerald looking for a female ralts after running away from male ones
Gallade wasn't even in Emerald, so yes, you spent an hour running away from male Ralts for no reason. Now go catch an army of dudes and make them beautiful and terrifying.
I just gave up and named my Emerald Gardevoir I'm a guy.

Sir is what people would call gaurds back in medieval times,male or female.
It became associated with men bc most women would take to house duties instead of being gaurds,so men would be the majority of gaurds.

One thing that many poketubers and even you in this video get wrong is that the word for evil in Japanese doesn’t have the exact same meaning as it does in English. It doesn’t mean that all dark types inherently evil creatures, just that they harness some sort of dark energy, like the dark spells in fire emblem. It was translated as dark because it fits the cultural perception of English speakers better.

The Japanese word for evil doesn't mean what you would expect. Rather than meaning bad, it just means something that has something dark about it. That's why it became dark type when being translated to English to better suit what it means.
I get the pronunciations but I personally like regi-ice because all of them have regi in the name.

Another misconception I see all the time is people not using Satoshi Tajiri's picture when talking about who created pokemon. Instead, they'll use Tsunekazu Ishihara's picture, the president of the pokemon company, not the creator
Trust me, the Gardevoir thing has always been a misconception. I remember people battling male Gardevoir during Gen 3 and thinking it was a glitch.

Actually they are coconuts. Coconuts come from palm trees as you can see eggxegutor is a palm tree pokemon and coconuts are seeds therefore both are correct.

@@edenengland1883 yeah, noivern doesn’t meet 600. Also, all of the pseudo legendaries are 3-stage families. I’m not sure if the definition would change if they made a 2-stage nonlegendary with a bst of 600 in the future, but at the very least for now it makes it easier to identify them
I think the reason so many people think darkrai is evil is actually mystery dungeon as it is the main antagonist and is fully aware of what it’s doing being wrong however as you said, ITS NOT CANNON !
I literally just finished a showdown battle with one of those insolent 5 year olds types. They think swearing is cool and that evasion is 100% skill. Then they try to tell me I'M inexperienced?!

Edit: Maybe I should have been clearer. It's not that they used evasion against me; it just that they seemed like that kind of guy. I was playing UU actually, and they didn't have a counter for my Primarina. So they swore at me, all the usual insults etc. then they tried to paralyze my Toxic Heal Gliscor which obviously failed. So they got salty and disconnected. 😅

I’ve literally had every single one of these arguments more than once. The most frequent being the pseudo-legendary misconception, as my best friend regularly assumes and classifies overly strong Pokémon or simply his favorite as such, regardless of the qualifications. That and because of Arcanine being the “legendary” Pokémon 🙄
You can't actually have a misconception about a fan term. You don't own it. Nobody does.
A pseudo-legendary can be different to you than another person. The only thing that isn't really debatable is what makes a legendary, as they are very clearly defined in almost all cases, and what makes a mythical.
You can certainly argue that any Pokemon under the base stat total doesn't count, because I don't really know *anyone* who would argue that a 500 base stat total Pokemon would count as a pseudo-legendary unless they were heavily biased to include a favorite of theirs, but why the *hell* would the word "pseudo-legendary" not apply to a Pokemon that can beat the ever living shit out of other pseudo-legendaries by having stronger stats?
Having "exactly" 600 points is an absurd prerequisite, because anyone that exceeds that point total would arguably be more legendary than those that don't. Even with annoying abilities like Truant.
Side info: Wally seems to always have a male Gardevoir in RSE.

To go along with the Shinx line as lynxes, I think a lot of people mistake Poochyena as a dog even though Hyena is even spelled out in Poochyena's name and Mightyena is derived from Mighty and Hyena.
2 year old comment is 2 years old, I figure the Mightyena line is a mix of dog and hyena, since Pooch is another word for a dog... So their *half* right.
Sugimori being back as the main character designer post 2016 now explains the official Ultra Necrozma art we got, since it looks a lot like the original Gen 1 designs

Yes matter and antimatter collude and annihilate each other, but they are also both made from light.
The only difference is they have opposite charges, so an antiproton has -1 relative charge.
Otherwise they act the same and would be affected by gravity just the same, so the distortion world wouldn't work.
I know it is metaphorical, but the metaphor doesn't work, and shows a lack of understanding into the properties of antimatter.

I still pronounce Regice "Regi-Ice". I know it's technically wrong, but I think calling it "Reg-Ice" ruins the theme the Regis have with their names. Regi-Rock, Regi-Steel, and Regi-Gigas sound nice and I feel Reg-Ice breaks the pattern. Also, it's just more fun and catchy to say "Regi-Ice".

I think where kids get confused with Gardevoir, comes from their knowledge that you need a male Kirlia to get Gallade, so they assume that only female Kirlia can evolve into Gardevoir. And where a lot of kids nowadays will call themselves "Pokemon Masters" because they play Pokemon go, it seems like they'd rather just berate someone rather than find out the truth for themselves...
I like that they change the pronunciation from Are-see-us to Are-kay-us, because it makes the name sound like a mix of Archaic and Chaos. Arceus is the god of pokemon, born before the universe and it controlled chaos and used it to form order.
I also feel like Suicune might still be a dog. Dogs and canids have noticeably longer snouts that felids and suicunes snout looks too long to be a cat in my opinion. Then again, I also think mew looks way more like a mouse than a cat and everyone else says I'm wrong so...

I always that a look at Pokemon names (or names of most characters TBH) and know my traitorous tongue will, well, betray me.
