    Have done many of these and would recommend accessing it from the front- bumper/ headlight / washer reservoir / and 2 x 10mm nuts on the module- less then 40 minutes to replace, no drilling pop rivets and security screws, nice and clean job. Just a hack, different then the Volvo service manual.

    Finally someone who shows how to find and replace and test the alarm box. I am glad I watched. Now I am prepared to work on my parents car. Hopefully it is just a battery since alarm works. So possible low battery voltage. Going to get it tested before I do anything more. Junk yard has plenty of xc90 in it. So finding a replacement part if needed is not a problem. Thank You.

    Thank you for the clear steps in parts 1 and 2. I just never had the time to get the siren out and replace the battery (if the circuit board is not damaged), but now I do (I guess everyone has the time these days to do work on their cars which they have been putting off ).
