Skarbrands wings wore (burnt) down when Khorne throttled him, threw him out (meteor style) eternally banishing him from his realm.
Tzeentch tricked him into hitting Khorne. He's a very angry fellow.
you have to give it to him, smacking Khorne is quite a proof of your bravery (or stupidity)

The Skull-Cannons are going to be in Warhammer 3, and if one bit of the marketing is to be believed, make motorcycle vroom vroom noises. They also definitely do sick doughnuts, it's great.
Skarbrand's wings aren't torn by "battle damage", Khorne did it as punishment.

For the Bloodthrone: They feed the mouth decapitated heads, and the machine dissolves the flesh and loads the burning skull into the cannon, and fires it out. The skull is said to chatter its teeth and imitate an evil laughter when fired.
Is that actually in the lore or is it…

Bloodletters are a nightmare to put together if you don't have good tools, those spindly ankles aren't exactly load bearing and the mould lines are massive, often stretching round the teeth and claws and running right through the soft details.
Pain to put together, joy to paint

Skulltaker's skullcape might be a bit silly, but it's confidently silly. It's not just holding a single skull, like some fucking coward mortal. Skullcape.
The skullcape on him is less silly than primaris blade guard with full skeletons on their shields imo
I think my favourite of the khorne daemons has to be skulltaker, just cause of the insanity and over the top-ness (if that’s a word) of his entire shtick. “I want a character bloodletter, SKULLS EVERYWHERE”

The skull cannon is really sweet but I have to say the bloodcrushers are probably my favorite. My group has a player with a full Khorne Daemons army and he has all of this stuff. Its really cool to see on the table top.
It's sad that you can tell that the thirster was the first Greater Daemon. He's an awesome model, but so small compared to the others. Khorne is the god of physical strength and the old thrister was the largest, as is the FW one.
Also he's the only one that doesn't include a special character in the set.

id always kind of assumed the flaming base for the thirster was meant to represent it sort of "errupting" out of the flames after having been summoned from the ritual looking setup on the base
I like the Bloodletters but do think they could be up scaled up a bit to make them a bit more imposing.
When I was a kid, Khorne were my favourite and Tzeentch were my least favourite. Now as an adult, my taste is the opposite. I love the vibrant, magical, colourful aesthetic of Tzeentch and I find the skulls/blood/fire of Khorne to be too 'edgelord' for my liking. I'll always love the 90s Bloodletters though.
I have a large AoS khorne army and I’d say the flesh hounds and bloodthirsters are the best looking. No so big a fan of the skull cannon and blood throne as I’d say they look too out of place. Especially in AoS where the soul grinder is in a different army.

The bloodthirster looks much better in person than in the images.

Khorne Daemons aas my first army when I started playing 40k a little over three years ago. I still love the models, even though they haven't seen a lot of gameplay recently.

Perhaps the most consistently good out of the deamon ranges.
I always felt that the juggernauts fit with khorne with the idea that Khorne is the god of war not just bloodshed, and the machine and industry of war fits that theme really well to me

Also the mouth on the skull cannon makes sense. How do you think the skulls get in there? They just run it in there to eat enemies and then digest it and shoot their bones (mostly skulls) out of the cannon. If you look at the fleshy part, you can see how many skulls are packed in there and you can see them moving through the vehicle and into the cannon to be shot. In aos this is reflected in the rules too because if it kills a model in melee it is able to shoot.

Yeh the Khorne range is good. It’s just has too much of a “generic demon” look to my liking.
The other three chaos gods just have a more eldritch look and personality
The skull cannons do eat the things it runs over, except the skull, that's then fired from the skull cannon

Very much most of the Khorne range models are my favourite in this review.
I kind of like the original Bloodthirster where it was standing on two holves than the pose of the new kit. I could kitbash it to have the body of Skarband with the wings, head and wargears from the Bloodthirster kit.
The Flesh Hounds are mostly one of my favourites since I've bought the Realm of Chaos - Wraith and Rapture boxset two years ago.
9 = Tzeentch
8 = Khorne
7 = Nurgle (tomorrow)
6 = Slaanesh (sunday)
13 = Horned Rat (someday, maybe)
? = Malal when?

The damage on skarbrand is from khorne throwing him through the warp, which he flew for days (?) As sort of a comet. Eventually when he finally landed, he basically gouged out a gorge and it screwed up his wings and face.
Khornw also cursed him and basically got rid of his personality, so now he is just unfiltered rage. And he has no way to get forgiven by khorne..no matter how bad he wants it...
I kinda really want GW to drop the Dark Mechanicum as a faction for 40k, because the idea of these hellforged, horrible daemon engines spewing smoke and rust and blood to the tune of War Pigs in the background sounds really badass. I know the Iron Warriors are a thing, and I have been considering Chaos Knights, but I think the DarkMech have amazing potential.
The return of Kelbor Hal would be cool, and like you said a line of Dark mechanicum horrors would be nice.

Edit: Do you not know the lore for Skarbrand? The reason his face and wings are jacked up is because Khorne Himself smashed him across the warp and burnt his wings off. It’s not just “wear and tear”.
Also, the Skullcannon is a “living” thing. It “eats” bodies, spits out the useless bits and keeps the skulls. Which it then infuses with warp energy and then fires it back at the enemy.

Skarbrand’s wings look like that cuz he tried challenging Khorne. So Khorne threw him across his realm so hard that he grinded along the ground for several days until his wings looked like that.
I must say as a bigger LOTR fan than WFB or the newest version I've never been able to take the Bloodthirsters too seriously - I just see the Jackson version of the Balrog and start going "drums in the deep..."

Such a big model held up by so little fire. I hope they don’t re-do my Necron Fliers with junk like that. My clear flying stands are just fine.
Khorne demons. My second least favourite, only beaten by nurgle.
-Virgin Khorne Bloodthirster: Don't like the pose, don't like the conspicuous flames at the bottom. Bad.
-Chad Khorne Bloodthirster: Nicer pose, doesn't need to fly off the ground to have motion, also has flames at the bottom of his feet, to suggest the ground burns underneath him. Definitely better.
-Skarbrand: He's too similar to the Khorne bloodthirster. Oh he's got half his face missing... so what, why do I care? Not visually distinct enough to be a named character.
-Bloodletters: Basic, notably aged. Could have some spicing up with motion, running legs etc. But as they are they just don't really interest me. Some red boys with swords. Like the other red boys with swords?
-Bloodmaster: Has some armour to break up its silhouette. Better than the Bloodletters by a notable margin, but the pose doesn't stand out from them at all.
-Skulltaker: Basically a Bloodletter Lord. Like the cape absolutely covered in skulls, like the victorious pose to set him above his minions. This feels like what Bloodletters should be closer to. As they are, they're just kind of imp-like.
-Karanak: Stubby. Relatively boring to look at. Also what kind of hound has a fucking frill necked lizard thing going on?
-Flesh Hounds: Sleek, mobile, reminding me more of big cats than dogs. They're alright.
-Herald of Khorne on Juggernaut: I love demon engine demons in particular. The nice combination of metal to flesh or metal shaped to resemble a beast? That's cool. And then it's ruined with some red imp with a sword on top of it.
-Khorne Bloodcrushers: Same problem as the Juggernaut with sword-wielding imp riding it.
-Skullcannon: Khorne demons using any kind of ranged weapon is just bizarre.
-Bloodthrone: Slightly better. I like the little platform for the two bloodletters on the front to ride on. But the chariot thing itself is very... Skaven-ish. The chaos markings and skulls and flesh don't hide this fact.
Ah yes. My favorite range in the game. I play these guys in AoS and 40k (i dont win in 40k) and i love putting them down and just smiling at how cool it is
Always hated the pose of the greater deamon, skarbrand is so much better

skull canons are a top like, 15 model for me, I love them soooo much

I hated it till I saw it moving about in the TWWH3 trailers. They've got it zooming around revving its engine and I was just like "oh now it makes sense"
