Thank you for posting this video! I have the short bed version that I’ve owned for about 8 years. Mine is from 1856 serial number 6288. Thanks to your video I could finally figure out how to thread the lower. After making a few adjustments I finally got it to make a nice looking stitch. Thank you again.
Thank you for posting this. I have the same model 20 and have been hoping to find a tutorial on how to set it up. This has really helped. The serial number on mine is about 2000 higher than yours so I'm estimating mine was manufactured about July 1858.
Stunning! Thanks so much for showing this machine. I don’t fully understand the double chainstitching, very interesting. I’ll probably never come across one like this treasure.🙏
Hi M Nelson! Here is a slow motion video I did of another similar machine so you can see the action of creating the double chainstitch. Enjoy! ua-cam.com/video/VYHP-yG8Hnk/v-deo.html
What a wonderful look into this machine. Makes me want to get one. Great for anyone wanting a reference to get theirs going, if they are lucky enough to find one. Wish i could find one in such good shape.

Glad the video helped! Happy stitching!
What a cool machine! Thanks for sharing this.
Thanks for watching!
Awesome machine. Sort of reminds me of my Howe double lockstitch looper.
I am curious as to your machine. I have never head of that before. Can you share more details? Thanks!
What a fabulous machine! Thank you for sharing!!
WOW never seen a machine like this, thanks for sharing 🙂
Awesome to see this working also looks like this machine could give u that Carpl tunnel of the wrist but it's cool
Thanks! Actually it is quite comfortable! I pieced a large quilt top on it and it was a joy to stitch with.
wow fascinating! im curious does it takes special needles or are you able to use modern ones?
Hi Julian Creates! It uses a special slightly curved needle to complete the arc necessary for stitches.
