    I'm super excited about this M2C shock setup 😍. Experimenting with newly arrived piston sizes as we speak 👀. The aim is to pair them perfectly with the stock 1000cst oil weights for simplicity. Keep you posted on progress as testing continues👊. If you're tired of chassis bendage 😱 click the this link and be done with it already🤣🤣. Your Kraton will thank you later 😍 (use the "m2ccoupon" code for 20% off)www.m2cracing.com/product.sc?productId=937

      How do you keep your diffs from exploding?! I am running a castle 1717 in my Kraton with super swampers x38(i think). My weak spot would be these diffs im just wondering how long yours last running like that!

      @@chrisoconnor3119 thanks Chris 👍!!!! I shim my diffs and try not to land on throttle. Still using Mugen seiki E0206 and Tekno #1222 shims. The V4 diffs are shimmed differently of course with planetary and outdrive cup bearing shims from the factory. 😎💪👊👊

      Hey Rich have you tried the hobbystar escs at all I'm wondering if I should go with the 150 amp of theirs or the hobby wing max 8 they seem pretty similar and the hobby star rating the amps are a little bit higher it's like a 1050 or something

    • @richduperbash2966
      @richduperbash2966  4 роки тому

      @@shanemcclain8562 I would opt for the Hobbywing Max8 personally. I haven't tried the Hobbystar 150A myself, but know of 2 people who simply couldn't run 6s with them 😝. Can't recall what the resolution was, but they were left disappointed. 😎💪👊👊

I wasn't expecting much benefit to be honest, but the shocks feel more forgiving and better handling overall 👌. Still plenty of spring off the jumps with less bounce back on the landings. About to take off to try smaller front pistons and better seals 👍. Definitely a work in progress but it's very promising and a simple conversion. Bummer on the servo🤣🤣😝. I'm trying my second PowerHD thanks to yours and others feedback 👍. Looking forward to your new combo build Bro👀. Enjoy your vacation 😊🤘🤘😎💪💪💪👊👊

    Good project, playing with shocks. The multi hole pistons give you massive pack and i'm not sure, if this is the right way.
    Maybe there is a perfect setup for landing without any bounce on a perfect day (in temperature), but that will be a long way in testing.
    The biggest problem with our rc shocks are massive high and low pressure zones around the pistons.
    This, without pressurizing the oil, ever will suffer in rebound damping after a total collapse (landing).
    I hope you'll find a solution.
    Good luck!

    • @richduperbash2966
      @richduperbash2966  5 років тому +1

      Thanks so much Marc👊!!!! Shocks are a complex subject for sure. There's definitely no perfect set up for all tastes and conditions. Temperature has a big impact no question. I'm trying to be as scientific and objective as possible while studying them on the bench and in the field 👀. There's definitely a noticeable difference in friction and stroke smoothness between these O style pistons and the stockers with an empty (lightly oiled) shock body. It's hard to discern exactly what affect the piston notches on Mitch's pistons have on directing pressure towards the O ring🤔. His intent was to slow rebound further by directing some oil with the notches. The actual piston cut tolerances are very precise. We'll see how things go, but I'm enjoying getting oil on my fingers 🤣 and trying to find a solid setup. Regardless of the end result, I'm learning a few things in the process. 👍👍😎💪👊👊

    The shock caps are looking killer man! Smooth and the delrin insert is much much needed!! Now if we can convince Mitch to do the lower shock mount in delrin we will be all set 👌 Thanks for braving the heat for us man! 100 degrees is no joke 😱 Now that I have seen both of the motors back to back the 1730 with the max8 looks to be the better performer. Of course if it overheats none of that matters 🤣 I still recommend the 4082 1600kv with a Max8 it has done so well in my beefcake Kraton 👍

Landings feel softer with less bounce. That would be Killer if Mitch offered Delrin rod ends 😍. I honestly still favor the 1730, but my 1480 has been problem free with regards to ESC pairing and good temps 👍. I keep forgetting about the 4082🤣. Would have liked to see a few more big air to flat ground landings with those emulsion shocks. Would have been cool to see the footage one right after the other like you did with the stock shocks vs those, but you didn't really air the thing out in the second part. Great footage as always! You are one hell of a wheel man!

    • @richduperbash2966
      @richduperbash2966  5 років тому

      Thanks Bryan 😊!!!! Just to clarify, this was all footage running the M2C emulsion set up. The first part was prior to swapping my V4 to M2C chassis, bigger motor, towers.... etc. My plan was to do a side by side style bash comparing stock with the M2C but my servo changed that. The other part of testing involves mixed terrain running, cornering, drop testing, along with jumps of course. Not everyone is into doing big sends, but hard flat landings are a good test for sure 👍. My primary initial goal was to see how the pistons held up and gauge whether I'm even going to like this setup. So far I'm definitely digging it 😍. Lots more testing to go. 🍻👍👍😎💪👊👊

      @@olds97lss the first part I was running totally stock oils (80 weight/1000cst). The second part I ran 1000cst rear/2000cst front 👀. I did that because the front felt a bit soft the first run and I didn't have anything between 1-2k. The issue is ARRMA uses 1.4mm rear pistons and 1.2mm fronts. My first test pistons were all 1.5mm. Just got another shipment today that should allow me to dial things in nicely 👌. The goal is to tune the piston combo to work perfectly with the stock 1000cst. 👍👍

    Hey rich. Firstly i was curious if you ran any upgraded springs for your shocks or do you just use stock? Secondly im also running the hobbywing max8 with the hobbystar 1480kv 4092.. going to use a 22t gear.. do you think il have problems overheating that setup?

    • @richduperbash2966

      Since ARRMA came out with the updated (V3-V5) shocks, I only run stock springs with the 6s rigs. 22T is what I normally use with my Hobbystar 1480kv 4092 with stock size tires with either 150 or 160A ESC 👍. I usually gear to about 150F for maximum performance and efficiency. Much hotter and I'll gear down or wheel size down. Temps have lots of variables of course.... smooth bearings, good mesh, rig weight, outside temps....etc. 🍻😎💪👊👊

Trying to keep it simple for people. I've had decent luck with my V4 thus far, but you nailed it with the center brace being too rigid 👍. The M2C chassis is the best solution I'm aware of. It flexes slightly, but doesn't bend. The difference is night and day 💪. No bent center driveline of jacked diffs. It's like building a good house. Starts with a quality foundation.🍻🤘🤘😎💪👊👊

    Nice video on the Kraton so do you believe the the tower to tower brace isn't really needed as I have seen another video where the operator thinks it caused his rear diff to brake away from the chassis?.

    • @richduperbash2966
      @richduperbash2966  5 років тому +1

      The tower brace is definitely not needed with the M2C 7075 chassis 💪. With the stock V4 setup, I'm thinking the brace would be more effective if it had some give like the new 4s design. All my homemade tower braces had some give built into them and worked quite well overall. It's certainly true that a bolted/rigid tower brace can transfer energy and cause lateral damages during really bad nose or tail impacts 👀👍👍😎💪👊👊

    Hey rich, love your videos, love your info. I noticed you have the hobbystar motors in your kraton’s with the max8. I also have a max8 in my typhon paired with the stock 2050 motor, and for some reason my motor tends to get really hot! I also have a v4 kraton that has a max6 with 1650kv motor. I guess my question would be, how do you keep the temps down with your motor setups? Do you think it would be alright to bolt up a 1650kv motor on my max8 typhon? Thanks for your time! Keep up the good vids, thank you for sharing all your wealth of info!

    • @richduperbash2966

      So sorry I missed your question Brother 😝. I generally control motor temps through gearing or wheel size. Assuming the bearings are all healthy and connections and solder joints solid, I gear down or wheel size down if temps go much past 150-160 tops. 150 is my target temp for maximum performance and efficiency. Beyond that performance suffers. 1650kv should pair great with most any 150A ESC, but runs a bit stronger with the Max6. Hope you got it sorted Brother 🍻. Appreciate the kind words!!!! 🍻🤙🤙😎💪👊👊

    Question for ya... How fast is the 6S Kraton if you were run it on just one 3S battery? Or can you even do that? Is it still pretty fast, but just not stupid fast? I see value in running it this way if I hand the controller over to my 12 and 13-year-old boys. I do understand that the new remote has a feature that allows you to toggle between 50%, 75%, and 100%. However I feel like those variables Would be valuable even on a 3S battery to slow it down even more. The question is can you even run it on one 3S battery? Lastly if you can… Could you set it up to run twice as long if you run the connections utilizing a parallel adapter. In essence, my two 5400mah 3S Batteries would last 10,800mah of time. Have you ever ran your 6s Kraton or any of your RC cars utilizing a parallel adapter to double the time running, with lower cell count? Thx!!

    • @richduperbash2966
      @richduperbash2966  5 років тому

      I've never ran a parallel adapter to say🤔. I personally prefer shorter run cycles to simply swap packs and look my rig over while it cools a bit. You can run 3, 4, and 6s with the BLX185 ESC no problem. 3s has decent speed and power especially for kids. I'm not using the STX2 controller. Simply don't like the grip or cheap oversized plastic wheel or spring tension. Just swapped in the old Tactic TTX300. 🍻😎💪👊👊

    • @EastTactics
      @EastTactics 5 років тому

      My next question, has to do with the spectrum remote. It seems there’s quite a bit of delay especially when trying to go in reverse. Also if I set the power down to its lowest setting 50% On the remote. And I don’t have a throttle dial turned all the way up. It doesn’t even recognize reverse. Not sure if that’s normal. From what I understand you switched back to the tactic. If I buy a better remote am I going to see in improvement in at least lag time (especially with reverse) if I just simply get a better remote? Or is that delay when you’re at a stop and trying to initiate reverse a typical annoyance everyone experiences in RC?

    • @richduperbash2966

      Thanks so much Brother 🤗!!!! That's tough to answer, but I feel the stock tower brace would work better if it had a bit more give to it. Perhaps if it had the rubber insert like the 4s brace. For brutal impacts, the stock 6s top brace can lead to reverse bends towards the rear of the chassis vs upward bowing. Best solution is honestly the Goliath Series chassis with aluminum chassis supports and no tower brace. 🍻😎💪👊👊

Can you tell me if a particular Arrma might be less likely to have chassis flex/twist or are they all susceptible to hard bashing, especially when the drivers last name is Duperbash? lol. I've had many bad wrecks with my 4s Outcast 4x4 with only a-arm breakages but I'm not as merciless as you because I'm not as skilled as you. (understatement lol) Thanks Rich!

    • @richduperbash2966
      @richduperbash2966  5 років тому +1

      Thanks so much Brother 👊!!!! The shorter Typhon and Outcast are less likely to have chassis bendage by virtue of less leverage between bulkheads. The 4s models are fairly brilliant as is honestly. I've personally bent all the 6s models despite aluminum chassis supports and running tower braces. The 3mm stamped aluminum chassis has limitations for sure. It's fine until you start playing rough or have a really bad hit 👀. The M2C 4mm 7075 chassis upgrade option is a true game changer 👌. 100% solution for obvious and subtle problems that arise from excessive chassis flex and bendage. 🍻😎💪👊👊

Have you ever had that happen to you when doing bigger jumps. Cuz I'm not sending it as far as you are I have sent it about 70 ft quite a few times and that's when itnormally pops off. But most sensored systems end up turning to sensorless at the higher speeds to get the benefits of the sensorless system. @@DonnieKluck the Spectrum electronics are highly efficient and reliable overall. Definitely not bad. That's why guys are able to pull them from RTR's and get a decent price if they choose to go with a different power plant. There's a wide degree of opinion regarding which brand is better. I like Hobbywing (they likely make the Spectrum ESC's and get rebranded). Castle has some nice stuff, but I view it as overpriced. Their power switches are super old-school, but they allow data logging with their Castle link which can provide very useful info as well. • @richduperbash2966

      Thanks so much Ed👊!!! I was running stock oils (1000cst) the first part and 1000cst rear/2000cst front the second part. Our goal is to size the pistons to work perfectly with the stock oils 👌. As of today, I have smaller sizes to get it tuned just right 👍👍😎💪👊👊

      Thanks so much Matt 😜!!!! It was only a matter of time before the V4 got the "beefcake" injection 🤣🤣😱😋😋. I harvested almost all the Voltage off my old Outcast 👌. Swapped bulkheads/diffs, shafts, and links. Kinda the slow way to build, but the only way 👊. The servo was a dang bummer 😝😝😝😝💩. To be fair, that Savox lived a long hard life. Appreciate the Hitech suggestion Brother 👍. I have a 40$ HDPower wp 23kg going in. Same specs as my 1210sg just a lot cheaper. Been running one in my Talion for months. Hope your weather improves Bro 👊. It's about to get super toasty here 👀🤘🤘😎💪👊👊

    Not sure how to go about this, I have a friend whom is dealing with cancer and may not be around for his family in the next 5 years. He has 2 young guys 10 &16 and when I'm over their the kids are gaming most times. I propose an idea of trying to bring this fam to spend time with eachother thru RC. So I would be asking you/the rc community to collect organize then donate monies to purchase the younger one an rc of some sort. This is asking alot and not knowing if the kid will even take to Rc hobbies it's a shot in the dark. The kid does make UA-cam vids under the name Christian Woosley. This is just an idea at the moment to try and maybe do something nice. As for myself I would not be able to logistically put this together myself, and also would be a conflict of interest as this is my best friend. This is just a thought I had.

      These M2C Racing bladderless caps and pistons should become available on the M2C website after testing. Finalizing the best piston size combination back to front. Not sure exactly, but things are looking pretty good. 🍻😎💪👊👊
