Nice job John. When I was just starting out this was just the kind of video I would look for. It was full of simple instructions, you didn't talk over a new detectorists head, and it showed the reality of the hobby. Excellent
Your videos are awesome. People think it’s all coins and jewelry. Much much more trash than anything. Thanks for showing the reality of detecting. Also how to properly take care of the property.
I made it out yesterday for the first time this year to a ballfield I hammered last year and had a 3 silver spill, a 1934 Washington, and 2 rosies. Then alittle further and found a 1911 seated dime.
I like all the video's it's not always about silver coins. I started detecting last year because of watching channels like yours. Best hobby I've ever done
Cool hunt. I do like the live digs cause it does show the reality of detecting. Sometimes all you dig is trash and if you're lucky some clad or maybe even some jewelry. Take care. 💖💯
I just went from a Ace 400 to a 800 Equinox. I got a great deal on it. It`s used has very little use. Your video helps alot. So yes keeping them coming Mike. And thanks!
Definitely going to recommend our metal detecting club members watch your video. Excellent info! And the reality is you usually dig more trash than goodies.
Definitely a great video to help a beginner John. You showed what detecting is a lot of the time. Plus you had a good day out Diggin holes. Happy hunting and be well
Well done as usual! I enjoy all of your uploads. This is the reality of hobby and the work it takes. 15 months ago my wife and I got serious and it has been good to us and we love it!! Your tips will help us out. The Nox is a game changer! We like you all, good people and great digging ethics! Stay safe and healthy 🙂
One tip to keep you plugs clean.. bring along a shop towel or large bandana to put your dirt on, it makes clean up a lot easier. This works well when learning how to make a clean plug.
Well done John. Metal detecting is much easier armed with knowledge and experience. I like the stories of the beginners 1st time out and finding treasure, lol Thanks for sharing the fun again. See ya tomorrow.
Cool video John. I learned how to metal detect by watching AquaChigger on UA-cam before I ever bought one. I have found a couple of silver rings on penny signals
I’m still learning this nox 800 and how to metal detect. This video helped me! I don’t normally dig 14-15 because they always seem to be trash. I was using a coin program but it didn’t seem like I was finding as much stuff. I just need to dig more stuff to learn what’s good signals I guess.
Nice video John. When I started using the Garrett’s I hated the sound of the Pinpointer feature and I also used the 5”x8” coils on the Max and the Pro for a long time due to a shoulder injury bc the stock coil made the Garrett’s too heavy for me to detect all day long. Many times I dig with people for 8-10 hrs. Anyways I didn’t really need to use the pinpoint feature bc the target was pretty much isolated under the smaller coil. When I got the Equinox 800 and it was lighter I could enjoy the 11” coil but had to relearn target isolation with it but hated using the pinpoint function. It is a bit faster and I like it. I have also used that can trick for a while and it is one of the best tips but still dig them sometimes clearing out a site, digging it all or when hopeful for big silver lol! Enjoy your day, Char 😊
🙂I enjoy seeing what comes out in every hole. Although my detector ranges 0 to 100 and it goes deep, it is appreciated to learn the numbers of a detector that I wish I could afford.
I find it best to dig everything, always pays off. Gold rings, silver coins, half the time are masked by modern coins and trash. Last gold ring I found was another 4 inch below a metal pen.
Wish I could teach my hunting buddies to dig better plugs. It's Winter in Canada...months to go yet before we get out again. Drool. Hope you get chance in your Lifetime to detect in the UK. Been there twice Detecting!
Thanks for watching Marc! I hope one day we get the chance too, looks so amazing. I agree, we see some nasty plugs left by others and wish they would do better.
Oldest coin I found in Chichester UK in 2008 was 1066 William The First Conqueror. Oldest coin in Canada I found was 1814 George 3rd Shilling. The USA is older than Canada. Much better there. We are a younger country though in Quebec and the Maritimes they can find older coins than here in Ottawa Canada( yes the truck protest city- now over after 23 days)
Are you digging *on* the 'sports' field? (sorry if I missed what kind of sport it was) Was it a baseball diamond? Football field? Or was this just an open field? Thanks in advance. Love the tip about telling the difference between a coin and an aluminum can.
Nice job John. When I was just starting out this was just the kind of video I would look for. It was full of simple instructions, you didn't talk over a new detectorists head, and it showed the reality of the hobby. Excellent

Still frozen up here grate to see you still getting out there.have you ever used the 600 and is it comparable to the 800
The 800 has a gold mode specifically for nuggets with a few extra high freq. to support it but outside that very similar!
Good job on the way detecting really is
Wish I could teach my hunting buddies to dig better plugs. It's Winter in Canada...months to go yet before we get out again. Drool. Hope you get chance in your Lifetime to detect in the UK. Been there twice Detecting!

It's mostly used as a soccer field now, thanks for watching!
What shovel is this?
ground is so dry in your last 3 videos. it is still so wet here in mississippi
im an so sad.
Have you ever found a steel penny?
I have a couple that were dug in coin spills!
*_'Golden' can-eliminating tip. . . and cans always seem to run deep._*

I DON'T DIG 13,14,15 BUT I DIG 12 AS IT'S ALWAYS A NICKEL ON MY VANQUISH.
