Man this brought me back!!! I was in and out of the hospital for months after I had been hit in the head with a golf club. (Total accident) Anyway, after an 8+ hour brain surgery and many days of coming back to my senses the nurses wheeled the n64 version of this into my room. It was a total escape and really gave me something to look forward to. My older siblings and parents chipped in and got me my very own n64 when I got home. I was seven at the time and it started my love affair with video games. I will always be thankful for whoever thought of this for hospitals.
That's awesome Rick! I was one of the kids who grew up in the hospital who played on a machine just like that. It made me really happy when the nurses wheel that Nintendo Kiosk in. You are a lucky guy. : )
I live 3 hours away and hands down you guys have the best GameCube section not only on the state- but the best I have ever seen. Wish it was closer to me
I remember when this store had the previous owners, you have really turned this place around. There was an aamazing vibe when I came in on Sunday it was just amazing. Love what you have done to the place. I look forward to coming in to buy something soon.
Thanks again Rick! For giving me a good deal on the cib NES console and my boys pokemon cards!!! Me and my two boys will forever remember our first visit at your store can’t wait to go back again!!! THANKs!!!
I had the same Kiosk pop up in my area for 400 about 2 months ago. It was 2 hours away, but more than worth it. 30 mins into the drive the seller messaged me saying someone closer was on the way to get it even tho he already made the deal with me. Sad Day😢
@@SnipesXxXI actually offered up to 600 (all I had at the time). He replied sorry the other guy was closer and needed the money now, then left the chat. Who knows maybe it was a scam the whole time. Never had that happen before
I hate when sellers sell stuff right out from under you. If you've made a deal with someone and set a time to meet, I don't care what comes up, you honor that deal unless the buyer backs out. I never treat my buyers like that. It's a big pet peeve of mine.
Rick, Your videos are awesome and I like the energy and positivity you and Mike bring. You have the coolest retro game store and I hope to visit one day. Keep up the good work you do and as you say Rick Never Stop Gaming.
That Kiosk brings back some tough memories. I played that non stop when I was in the hospital for West Nile in 1999 or 2000. It had 20 or so SNES games that I would rotate through. Probably the main reason I fought it lol
Great score with the Kiosk! I think it's amazing that all of these awesome gaming relics keep getting dug up by you guys. Keep preserving that gaming history!
Man that’s my holy grail I used to play these in the hospital spent most of my childhood in the hospital these things got me through some dark times so cool
This might be the first time you got a kiosk that i really want myself. I just love the SNES era more and more as i get older and that set up is just amazing. I'm with you, all the plastic is fantastic! What really blew me away is that the speakers are still good and they were so loud! Stellar buy sir!
Great video Rick! Please create an old-school arcade with all your kiosks, cabinets, and pinball machines. It could be a small section of your store or a nearby store.
Man i want that lisa simpson statue you got!!! Hahah ive benn looking for a year, stumbled upon your videos a couple months ago and now am just seeing your shop in the past couple videos. This is crazy you got the whole family! Ill hopefully get one soon. Im hoping to get her and bart but since ive seen more barts than her, and she sits upright, i really wanna get her. This was a great video man, thanks!!
Super crazy, but I actually had that exact hospital unit back in 2016. I got it from a guy in Bloomington IL who lived across from a hospital. Said they pulled it from the trash but the tv was busted out. I think I paid like $40.. I can’t believe it’s worth that much.. before I get asked, no I don’t still have it. I sold it to Jay from the game chasers for $150 I think and he drove from Texas to IL to get it. I think he was already traveling to Chicago for the World Series that year and made a pit stop to grab it. Wonder if he ever got it working.
My Frosh year of HS in Fall of 1998 I got wicked sick with something that docs could not initially diagnose. I was quarantined in a hospital room for a week. They had a SNES on rollers that kids could get access to for like an hour at a time. I believe I got access to one twice and played Super Mario World. I do not fully recall exactly what the framing and everything looked like (I do not remember roll bars or access to a VCR on mine), but it was such a cool, morale boost for me in such a crazy and scary time. This was a tremendous find on your part. 👊🔥🙏
I'm heading that way in a couple weeks. Can't wait to go in the store. I love to haggle like Rick in the old days. You want 90$? Ill give you 4 bucks 🤣
@@brentsalassi5245 I'm sure not.. however if you saw a few videos back when he bid on that Nintendo world championships game he let it slip that his dad is wealthy.
@@titansrule72 Yeah I have to really try hard to dismiss that he is a trust fund baby and didn't actually earn what he has, but I've managed it and I still like him.
I would contact a children’s hospital in the area and bring it into a general activity area and have a tournament on a more modern console for the opportunity to have it in their room for 2 days. I would probably bring in larger crt screens like 19 inch but wheel this into the patient room of the tournament winners with their choice of games. I would also bring some type of wireless controller whether 2.4 or Bluetooth, replaceable or built in lithium battery, original style controller or ability to connect Xbox or PlayStation controllers.
Good morning from Japan! I love these type of videos where you just show off your sheer joy at acquiring something rare like that Kiosk. Also, props to that dude for bringing it to ya. I am really interested in how you're NES collection is coming along... seriously invested in your hunt for all the games. Wish I could come to your convention but, you know, I am in Japan lol. I did message you via your business email about bringing a Japanese idol to your convention to sing, since it would be interesting and she could do videogame-related things and do cosplay, but you never replied. That's actually what I wanted to tell you, since you said in the end of the video we could talk about whatever we want... it would be helpful if you had somebody on your staff that could reply to inquiries and mail. I get that Retro Rick himself might be too busy, but can I request that you try to find some time to reply to people who are reaching out to you? I mean, we all support your channel a lot, and I am super busy myself so I sympathize if you guys are really incredibly busy all the time that replying to emails doesn't seem like a priority, but... well, don't you think it should be a priority? Your fans out there are the reason you have this channel and money coming in from these channels, right? And I've been watching you for a long time now. So just a constructive suggestion, as I'm not complaining. Keep doing what you're doing and thank you so so much for all this great content. I literally watch your vids the moment they pop up on my home feed.
I’ve been following you for a while. I saw the video where you posted a clip of you leading worship. Would love to hear you lead worship. I’m a worship pastor too. Do you have more videos of you leading?
I played on one of those fun centers when I was a kid I was in the hospital with Pneumonia and when the nurse asked if I wanted on, I told her heck yeah, I only got it for a few hours the hospital only had one or two of them, but it still made a fun time.
Love the videos. Do you ship stuff? I'm looking for (breath of fire 2 on SNES) . I almost want to open my own store after watching your videos all the time. Thank you for your time reading this message.
My very first Pokémon game as a child was fire red for GBA, and it’s a game. I probably put close to 100 hours onto. Between several years of growing up, moves, marriage, and everything in between. It’s gone missing. I still have all of my other childhood copies of all of my Pokémon games. But Saying it stings that it is missing is an understatement due to its obvious sentimental meaning, I want nothing more than that game back in my possession. it’s just tough trying to find an affordable copy that is authentic.

Not a good look throwing a convicted pedo in your video.

Out of all the Retro bunch...Retro Rick is King.
Easily becoming my favorite UA-camr, your videos are perfect to watch when eating a good meal lol
