I know videos are supposed to be short to keep people’s attention spans but yours are too short for me. The content is so good I’d watch a 2 hour movie lol good stuff Rick and Michael!
Ive had that green sign for over 10 years ive never been able to find out where it came from. Thank you so much for finally solving that mystery for me
4:46 PSM (Playstation Magazine) stickers sighted! The mags always came with a circular sticker to put on the lid of your PS1. Most of these were promo, but the smiley with the eye patch was the magazine's own logo/character. Absolutely loved that magazine!!
That was awesome. I had the entire psm mag collection and gave it away to a friend. Luckily, I kept the first 5 editions to myself and still have that smiley sticker. I remember waiting each month for those magazines like it was yesterday. Great times !!! ❤😊
Those are great games but my favorite is x-men vs street fighter I know it is broken because it was early in the vs series But it was the game that introduced me to the vs series, and I invested a lot of time in the arcade When Mvc 2 and sf III came out I was already in university and couldn’t play as often at the arcade local Only once a month, well life goes on. I just received my terraonion ODE for the Dreamcast So I’m gonna install and start grinding mvc2 take my time unlocking characters
been watching you for a few years now, i believe its been a few years lol but love your positive view on life and your attitude is amazing, looking forward to all the future vids you're gonna make
Thank you for sharing your story and collection. Your a very humble guy. It's crazy how games hold so many conversations. I got my 1st NES for passing summer school in 1st grade so I understand.
Too many favorite fighting games to name just one as the best ever, but I'll go with Rival Schols on the PS1. Played that for hours with friends, lots of great variety and combos, and it still holds up and is still fun to play.
Smash Bros is easily my favorite fighting game Ultimate and Melee especially!! But I also love Tekken, Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat. I even like Multiversus and Dragon Ball FighterZ I guess I just like fighting games lol.
Capcom vs. Marvel 2 original XBox , with Clay Fightes on the SNES, Primal Rage on Sega. Punch Out on NES and Tekken ps1... as I grew up with the new systems, I had a favorite game.
100 percent. Nothing changes. Supply and demand. If things get more rare prices go up and people sell. Will always be a market but prices could go way up and then down.
Nostalgia is like a drug. Millennials have become adults and a lot of them have disposable income to spend on games of their childhood. Retro stores and game stores will be around until the millennials die. The newer generation grew up with less physical media so that's probably the time when these stores are going to struggle
@@nateg5505 and when they pass on and only kids that grew up playing downloadable games exist why would they want to go buy from a store like that? they will have no reason to and have no connection to any of those games. these stores will die out sooner or later.
If I'm not mistaken there's only like 1,000 of those Mario Brothers 3 in the box as they were a packing item originally and never really sold individually so that is actually pretty rare if you don't buy it you're a sucker
Soul caliber & Killer Instinct own more hours of life than any other fighter. I actually bought a cib KI from Rick before he could even put it out on a shelf.
Hey Rick...ya may have regerts about buying those two games, but he's gonna remember that and now you're on the kiosk kings good graces! I think the next good find is coming to you and not the buddy in Cali!
I'm going to say Marvel VS. Capcom 2 because it had an insane roster of characters and I've got a lot of good memories playing it a lot with friends on the Dreamcast back in the day.
my favorite fighting game would have to be Mortal Kombat.....not just the first one, but the whole series....they kept getting better and better with graphics and more outlandish fatalities as well as guest characters....
Sf2 og , playing it religiously on the arcade until it came out on the snes. Then, i became super expert learning and mastering everyones moves in expert mode. Hardest level. ❤😊 still play it till this day. When killer instinct came out, i was also hooked. 😊
So i started fighting games with SF2 and that will always have a special place in my heart. However, my favorite fighting games will always be the Guilty Gear and Blaz Blu Franchises. They knock the ever loving poop outa any other fighting game for me.
The only "problem" with those 2 games Rock bought is if they are to keep or flip. Can always flip them at the con, right? If they were to keep, then I'd have been happy with the purchase, if they were games I really wanted. Having second guesses on them though, doesn't sound like Rick wanted them.
I remember playing tournament fighters on NES when it came out and thinking - the NES cannot handle this game.... it's so bad. It's weird how these games have gotten boosted in value by the fact that nobody bought them when new (for good reason).
If you look at the labels, manuals, and boxes of SMB 3, you will notice that the word "BROS." is in two locations. It is either on the left under the "M" in Mario, like you see @ 7:50, or more centered under the "A" & "R". This was done to specify the two different ROM versions. Unlike in today's gaming world when bugs are found you can just download a patch. Cartridge-based games had to get a new printing of the carts with the bugs fixed. So, the copies with "BROS." centered, which is more common, is REV-A. This also can be verified near the area of the UPC code.
I highly doubt the title design change has anything to do with identifying the rom revision. The bros looks so goofy on the left they simply changed it for the later releases.
@@PeperonyChease It does. I own CIB copies of both variants. The word "BROS." was moved over to identify the different ROM versions. As I stated, this can be verified by looking in the area of the UPC and you will see VER.-A or so,mething like that.
@@kbramlett6877 That doesn't verify your claim. Let's start with who is required to differentiate? If I remember correctly the earlier version was only released in a bundle?
@@PeperonyChease Do your homework. Then come back and chat with me. Until that time, do not argue withsomeone who was around when the game was released. That is right. I am 49 and I know my history.
Not much of a fighting game guy but; Marvel vs Capcom 2 on the Dreamcast. I used to take it to school and 8 of us would have tournaments in a spare class room during lunch

“Buddy out in Cali” must be BALLIN lol
Plot twist - It's Riff
Is Mort doing that or just CIB? @@Koolicyde

Mortal Kombat arcade version is hard to beat especially with learning all the different finishers. It kinda changed fighting games forever.

The value is in the appreciation. You're good, man. As long as you're enjoying the purchases, don't fret it!
Smash Bros is easily my favorite fighting game Ultimate and Melee especially!! But I also love Tekken, Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat. I even like Multiversus and Dragon Ball FighterZ I guess I just like fighting games lol.
Those boxed turtles games would go great with my boxed turtle NES.
Either Powerstone or Bloody Roar.....those were my jams back in the day.
Although also enjoyed a little tekken and some clay fighters.

Best fighting game: Smash on the Gamecube, destroyed many friendships.

Capcom vs. Marvel 2 original XBox , with Clay Fightes on the SNES, Primal Rage on Sega. Punch Out on NES and Tekken ps1... as I grew up with the new systems, I had a favorite game.
Will stores like this still exist 5-10 years from now?
Yes. Because nothing beats actually going and looking and handling games.
I very much doubt it. Only the good ones will survive

Congratulations on the festival level-up!!! That guy has a crazy collection that he just driving around with.
Best fighting game for me has to be Tekken 3. Spent so much of my childhood playing that game!
Street Figher 2 in the arcade, or Soul Calibur 2 on gamecube
Definitely would have bought em! You’ll make a profit but will probably be the slow dime as opposed to the fast nickel 👌🏻
When I heard the challenge I said Dead to Rights on the OG xbox and its a 73. I'm calling that a win.
I'm going to say Marvel VS. Capcom 2 because it had an insane roster of characters and I've got a lot of good memories playing it a lot with friends on the Dreamcast back in the day.
Virtua fighter 2 arcade or soul caliber on Dreamcast
Don't worry dude. I heard your story about them cutting your game 😭
my favorite fighting game would have to be Mortal Kombat.....not just the first one, but the whole series....they kept getting better and better with graphics and more outlandish fatalities as well as guest characters....
MK 2, SF 2 and Killer instinct all a 3 way tie for my fav fighting game of all time

The question is how many times do you come across tmnt tournament fighters in box??
Killer Instinct and Marvel VS Capcom on Dreamcast. The PS2 version is slower but still good

Best fighting game of all time? For me, it's TEKKEN TAG TOURNAMENT 1, the arcade version!
best ever is killer instinct
Agreed! TJCombo!
Favorite fighting game is Tekken 3 for me. Also the metacritic game was fun.
Hit like for Mortal Kombat hands down!
Best fighting game, Marvel Vs Capcom 2. MVC2 to me was the evolution of X-men Children of the Arom, which is a great fighter as well.
Thanks for the heads up. I subscribed to Pizza Hut!
I remember playing tournament fighters on NES when it came out and thinking - the NES cannot handle this game.... it's so bad. It's weird how these games have gotten boosted in value by the fact that nobody bought them when new (for good reason).
