    I'm just here trying to figure out how to get from the ice table set up to rearranging the equation for the quadratic. I am lost at how you got 6.00-5.00x+x^2 in the denominator. Do you have a video explaining step by step to get to the quadratic equation?? I get everything else besides that >.

      You have to foil, or multiply the first things, then outside things, then inside things, then the last things.
      So if you had (1.00-x)(2.50+x)
      1. First, so 1.00 x 2.50 = 2.50. You multiple the first things.
      2. Outside, so 1.00 times x = 1.00x you multiple the things to the outside
      3. Inside, so -x times 2.50 = -2.50x you multiple the things inside
      4. Last, so -x times +x = -x^2 you multiple the last terms together
      The equation would then look like…
      -x^2+1.00x-2.50x+2.50 which adding like terms would give -x^2-1.50x+2.50

    dont wanna sound dumb but how did you got (6.00 - 5.00 + x^2) at 7:22 ?

    • @Moleqlar
      @Moleqlar  4 роки тому +6

      By "foiling" (2-x)(3-x).
      2*3 = 6.
      2*-x [in second bracket] = -2x
      3*-x [in first bracket] = -3x
      -2x + (-3x) = -5x
      -x * -x = x^2 [no operator means +]
      The put it together.
      6 -5x +x^2

    What do you do when both results from the quadratic equation are negative?

    • @Moleqlar
      @Moleqlar  4 роки тому

      There may be something gone awry when doing the math using the quadratic equation. I always suggest doing everything within the square root first, and then once you have that value, perform your two root calculations: -b - ANS/2a and -b + ANS/2a
