Hi Antony, I had a brand new 40th anniversary strat when they came out.. I went down the road of doing a 3×3 way toggles switch job on it which gave about 15 different configurations, most of which were pretty similar, but there were a couple of really nice combos. Long story short...I kind of regretted doing it ( don't mess with a classic!) but I wasn't that enamoured of the guitar anyway, and stepped up to a Godin artisan and never looked back. I still admire the absolutely perfect design of the classic strat... ( The Tele just doesn't work visually for me, but perhaps the sound makes up for it).
Tomasso (Zillio for the uninitiated readers) uses a two pick-up strat if I recall correctly, and I often wished the middle pick-up was not there on both my artisan and the strat I owned.. I felt the sound was something I could do without and the benefit of it not getting in the way ( both physically and psychologically) seems like it might be a good thing... I'm sure many will disagree...perhaps an interesting question for Tomasso on your livestream interview on this coming Wednesday at 5.00???🤔

On all my Ibanez, Jackson, Schecter, I can hear the mechanical noise of the rotary switch. Is it normal ?
Is it the fingers, or is it the switch? You make it sound so easy ! You would still sound good without the switch, but possibly not without the fingers :-)
