Hi Steve, it would be great if you could do a follow up,with "Using Amps Controls"
thanks Jim
This was so informative--I never knew what the toggle switch differences were, other than me just experimenting with them. And the volume/distortion relationship is very interesting altho I am a beginner and don't go over 4 on the volume so as not to bother my neighbors, lol. Nice video!
how? he didn't even touch the tone controls lol false advertising
Really great walkthrough of the switch.
Hi Steve, great lesson on pickup switching and volume control, my first time viewing your very instructive video

Very good advices! Thank You 😊
thank you, great video
Pixeled out Fender logo; I thought my eyes were going.
Hey! Steve, I have a Line6 Spider 15 amp and I have a Fender Squire Bullet electric guitar 🎸 and I really don’t know how to set my amp to the right setting and how to set my Fender Squire Bullet for a nice clean sound. I know that my E,A,D,G,B,E strings are tuned because, I double check. So, what do you suggest I do? To me I just don’t like the way it sounds so, I get my Acoustic guitar and start to play it. I am a beginner. Steve! I need your help!
Well I have a line 6 spider classic 15 and a bullet stratocaster from Squier as well... I think that you should put all your controls at the 12 o'clock position on Amp and your guitar tones as well and then try to move a little bit the amp controls to your preference.
I personally like when I put the guitar tones at 5 and the volume on 8 on the guitar, on the amp I like tu put less bass like a 3.5 or a 4, the mid on the 5 and treble at 6. This is for clean Chanel(put the drive all the way up)
I hope I could help you
i learned something, thanks
thank you!
Cool playing
You dont mention the tone controls!
Better make another video!!!
i was waiting for the tone!
Mee tooo i was also waiting for tone controls
Hi steve, i am a beginner and don't quite know about the tone and volume knob on my guitar, actually i had both always on 10 and went well till now.
But now a i am learning a new song, and it has a melody part for that i use g b and high e string in 5th to 8th fret. At the same time when i started to learn this song, i bought a line 6 spider v60 mkII. when i play the melody i started to reckognize a clicking sound that seems to come from the pick hitting the strings. It got so annoying and i just can't ignore it. Where is the Problem do you think? Is it the amp? Is it my guitar? Or my picking style or the pick? I tried several different materials of picks, thicknesses and stiffnesses(if that word exists - i am german).
Is this normal? Do expensive guitars have that same behaviour on knobs on 10?
Kind regards
Have you tried shielding your pickups for the buzz ?
Excellent, thank you - but what happens if I want to go to 11?
Just loved the lesson....I learnt a lot.......thanks
How do you make your guitar sound like that, and not sound so soft because I want mine to sound hard core not soft
Thats the way it works.
thanks
Thank YOU for watching and commenting! :-)

I love u man
Third position = The James Gang!!!
SRV seemed to use third position a lot, I mean he played them all, but some of my favorite songs he used third position. Jmop
I learn more on youtube than in my school
Thanks for the lessons steve. I only have a fender strat with single coils. Does that mean i wont be able to play hard rock since it doesnt have a humbucker?
Thanks for watching! To answer your question, humbuckers tend to have a fatter sound than single coil pickups, but you can play hard rock on them just fine. :-)

Thank you very much! @@stinemusiclessons
Should my Strat’s volume be completely off by the time I hit 6? It seems like I only get sound between 7-10
No something is wrong. I know this is late but should only be no sound on 0.
Why is the fender logo blurred out ? can clearly see it @ 6:14

My made in China squire bullet strat s.s.s. pick ups never hum and doesn't have that bright sound at the bridge at all, it's more muddy but with bite.
I think it must be a defective guitar , is there another explanation? I bought it new 20 years ago for $85. Never heard it hum.
Thanks for watching, Luis! To answer your question, it could just be a defective pickup, or it could be a wiring issue. But if the pickup gives a constant signal when you play, like if it doesn't cut out or anything, the pickup could be functioning just fine... it just might not be a very high quality pickup. :-)
If you want to look into getting better pickups, you can check out some of Steve's favorite pickups here: guitarzoom.com/gear
Hope this helps! :-)

@@stinemusiclessons I believe your right, just a defective pick up, never cuts out, never hums and sounds closest to a hum cancelling single. P.u. with a little lower output.
I been told never to loose this guitar, I just wanted to know why it's like that and think your right. Appreciate your help and will definitely watch the other videos
Having a volume pedal makes it convenient 😂
