Upload Better QUALITY Photos [Instagram growth!]📸📲 (2018)

- 💥My Instagram BLEW UP when I started doing this💥 I saw my growth and my engagement grow exponentially when I started to upload better quality photos. Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, it doesn't matter which social network you prefer. If you have good quality, you'll stand out! But you don't have to go through all the trouble of editing on your computer and getting the files back to your phone. With more modern cameras, you can send the files straight from your camera to your iphone or android phone over Wifi (or if your camera doesn't do this, wait until the end for my trick!)

How do you edit your photos for social media? Computer or phone??
We edit our photos by getting you to edit our photos, it works really well!
Haha 😂 yeah that’s one way to do it!
Dunna Did It I edit on my phone. Snapseed
Mark Cortez that's a good combination
Randomkid87 Stoltzfus - awesome! I tried it out a bit! There’s some very cool features.
This was very helpful! My Instagram is growing and I want to take it up a notch! Thanks!
Nice! Glad to hear it!
Ohhhh boy, you can TRANSFER VIDEO TO YOUR PHONE WITH THAT?!?!! Game changer!
YOU HEARD ME RIGHT!! I used to edit a lot of my insta stories (which I need to do more) on my phone but I would shoot it all on my a6000... so many messages being like “how did you get it to look so good?!?”
Great Job Dunna! I'm digging your channel... Keep pressing and be encouraged, good things are coming!
Thank you so much Jacob! I’m so glad you’re enjoying it!
Dunna’s killing it. Great video mate!
Thanks as always brother! I appreciate you making your way over!
Dude always! Looking forward to Mondays man! This is value viewing!
🙏🙏 you’re too kind my dude!
You have no idea how many subredits and other forums I've been on asking if this was possible and how many times I was shot down saying there's no way to transfer raw to a mobile device... For sure your Chanel is 🔥 and it's at the top of my list now.. 🤙🏽 headed over to peep that 007 gadget you just popped out..
So glad I could help! It is pretty cool having access to all that dynamic range on your phone! Thanks so much for watching!
Beautiful, the background sound is dope. The lil card reader is it for iPhone alone?
Thanks! No actually you can use it for anything with USB A(the big one), micro usb, or lightning(iPhone). So you can use it for your computer too if it doesn’t have an SD card reader. Or android phones with micro usb.
Aawesome advise bro!! I really loved this vlog!! damn I really liked your style on this video🔥
Thanks so much brother! I'm glad you liked it! Definitely felt good to get back to more of a Vlog style this week since the weather is nice now! I can come out of hiding!
awesome dude!
Also congrats on 2k!
Thank you so much! It happened so fast I can’t believe it!
I know right? Its awesome seeing growth after 1k subs! People werent lying! Consistency is key! Keep it up! Hope to collab some day!
I definitely think consistency has a lot to do with it! Thanks again man!
Love the video dude!!!! Love the energy also!! Great tips!
Thanks a ton!
Dunna you are close to 2k subs, that's a big one. Congrats.
Getting so close! I don't know if i should do something or wait until 5k?!
Very Nice and Helpful Vidio Mate..I was planning to get a new iphone just because I thought phones are much simple and easier but i think that sony app to transfer is amazing I’m gonna go back to the classics and will buy a camera intead of a smartphone.Peace
Loving it! I've been using Canon Camera Connect and editing with Polarr. I do get being "first" but I also like to take some time with other shots. I also like to release some images slower, have a variety on my grid.
I agree 100%! Most of my shots get a proper Lightroom desktop treatment. Mostly what I've been using this trick for lately is to throw rough edits up on stories :) thanks for the input Foto Fox!
I really like the way you shoot your videos.
Im curious to know how to plan your videos. Do you script your work or anything?
Hey Michael! Thanks so much! I’m really glad you like my videos! The short answer to that is that I get kind of a bullet point version of a “script” for my videos. If they are more vlog style, I vary from that and wing it way more. Where as if they are more of just me talking or product based, I’ll script a bit more. It’s a bit different for each video but that’s the basis of it. I have this topic on my list of potential videos so keep an eye out and hopefully I’ll make a video explaining more soon!
Its very well done!
I do the same thing, make bullet points, but I just dont sound as good as you! I know my camera gear and I know everything. Im confident as I love public speaking, but I just sound bad on camera. I cant talk and I go all over the place. I start to edit and I just sound very scripted and monotone. >.< Its killing me. HAHAHA
I totally get that! There’s definitely a lot of getting used to it and a lot of magic happening in the edit to help! I think while I’m recording, I try my best to have my editor brain functioning... constantly thinking about the way that it will get put together. If I catch myself starting things with “soooooo” or “aaannnnddd” I’ll just stop, take a breathe and start again. It’s definitely not something that came naturally, but it’s fun to learn!
Gonna have to buy a camera this year! Been saving up for one 😁💖
Hello Dunna! My question is this. What are the optimal parameters to export for instagram stories and not lose quality when uploading? I work with Adobe Premiere Pro. Thanks!
I export in 4K(vertical) at 40mbps :)
Can you make a tutorial for proper export settings for photos and videos in lightroom on the desktop Lightroom? Great video btw!
I most definitely can do that at some point! I’m adding it to my list right now! Thanks for watching!!
Dunna Did It awesome! Because I also have the Sony a6500 and want to post my 4k videos but when I do, Instagram compresses the crap out of them and looks horrible
Yeah. 4K definitely doesn’t fly on instagram, I even tried to post some 4K footage on my story (just shot on the iPhone) and insta would crash EVERY time!
Dunna with the advice! I’m here for it. Definitely going to try and implement these tips and tricks!
Ree with the being awesome! Can’t wait to see the photos on your socials! 😁😁
Wow! Great video on tips... Some stuff I've never heard before. Great vid!!
Thanks Barry!!
Thanks for the tips
Not a problem! I hope you like the idragon! It’s so clutch some times!!
The Vlog was nice but honestly it distracted me from the purpose of why I came here. I just wanted to see how to transfer the file and upload. That’s all. 🤦🏾♂️
Thanks for letting me know. It seems like I can’t please everyone 🤷🏻♂️ some people get bored if I just do the info and some people get distracted if I do anything else lol.
Same process for videos for your IG stories ??
Great video, theres another way to transfer RAW files wirelessly. Download the iOS app Cascable wifi Camera Remote. I’ve been using it with my Lumix LX-10 and it works perfectly.
Cool! Any idea if it works with Sony?
Yes, but haven't tried it out myself yet. Waiting on my a6500 to arrive. Checkout the website for camera compatibility cascable.se/help/compatibility/
If it successfully works, you should make a quick video on it and shout out my IG @JLDWG 😉 👍🏼
Cool! I’ll check it out!!
I can officially say it works! Just received my a6500 today and was successfully able to transfer RAW files wirelessly. Just make sure to update your playmemories remote app to the latest firmware and Voilà! 😏👌🏻
Love being able to do this with my A6000!
Yeah man! It’s so handy, insta bangers in no time!!
This is awesome! Is the iDragon limited to 32gb of SD only?
Nope! I use it with my 128gb card pretty regularly
Great! Thanks! Bought it ;) Keep up the vlogs! Their great 💪🏻🤟🏻 Dunna Did It
Nice! Thanks so much for watching!!
Hi Dunna. I just discovered something about a MC11 adapter for Sigma lenses on Sony camera's for a greater autofocus. Want to dig deeper but perhaps good stuff for your channel to review ;)
You mean you discovered a trick with the mc11? Or you just discovered that it exists? If you know a trick you can't leave me hanging like that haha. But yes the mc11 looks cool, I've heard of some people having trouble with it not focusing well, but I'm supposed to have one to review soon so I guess I'll find out.
So what is it with that 4:5 ratio i kinda don’t understand it
Can i pre set that in the camera or do i have to do it in LR?
No cameras that I have will do a 5x4 ratio but that doesn’t mean that it doesn’t exist. The reason to use the 5(height)x4(width) ratio is because it takes up the maximum allowable screen space on Instagram when people are scrolling. They will see your name, your photo and then the top of your description. No sneak peeks of whats next in their feed or anything. You can post things that are shorter than that in the height but not taller.
Very good advice bro! Thanks for posting this!
Thanks so much for watching! I’m glad you enjoyed it!!
I just got the canon eos m3 and I love the sharing feature. Especially since my phones back camera broke
Nice!!
Awesome video Dunna, just awesome. Thank you 🙏
My pleasure thanks for watching!
nice tips man! my I ask what settings picture profile you are using on the a6000?
I generally shot in neutral with the sharpness and contrast turned down when I had my a6000s
Dunna Did It thxs man! What is your export settings? Your videos looks so crispy!
4k 2pass 40/50mbps h.254 max render quality 😁😁👍
Dunna Did It Will try that 😃👍🏻 i am edeting in ffcpx, hope this settings works!
Hey Dunna! I'm wondering if there is any way to export the videos from your A6500 to your iphone using the XAVC S format? I think that the SD Card reader can only export MP4, but I'd really enjoy sharing my stories in 4k or 120p :)
Hey Patrick actually, the mp4 is XAVC S! XAVC S is the codec but it uses an mp4 wrapper. So if you’re using a card reader you can plug into your phone like the idragon one I use, you’re getting full XAVC s on your phone!
Keep up the good work! Digging your videos too!
Thanks so much! I really appreciate it!
Hi DOES THE SONY 6600 have this feature!????
Yup!
Loving the subtitles;)🤣
Haha thanks!
It's not play memories any more. It's called "image edge mobile"
You got it! That came out after I made this video.
What lens are you using on this video?
The video was shot with the Sony 18-105 f4, sigma 30mm f1.4, and sigma 16mm f1.4 all in different places. 😁
Dunna Did It thanks for the response 👌
No worries!
Is there any other app that's like lightroom that I can get for free because lightroom you have to pay to use it
There are some cheaper alternatives like Luminar but I’m not sure about free
Doing something will be a great idea
Love this vid!!
Thanks man! I appreciate it!
Great tips Dunna :D
Thanks Sebastian! Glad you liked it!
Great advice here. Thank you.
No worries Allanfortytwo! Thanks for watching!
Came here cos I loved your name after seeing a comment you wrote on caseys recent video! Like your videos so far..subbed 👌 xxx
Wow thanks so much for checking it out! I’m glad you enjoyed it!
it's helpful and good to use
Thanks for watching!
Yo Dunna loved this man i really wanna start showing off some of my photography through my Instagram and used lightroom to edit a couple snaps from my holiday its so easy!! Thought i would catch up with what you have been up to as this Thailand montage is driving me insane trying to edit hahaha!!
Yeah man lightroom is so powerful! Thanks for swinging by to watch, I’m glad you liked it! Good luck with the Thailand stuff!
Hi, how do u get the ARW files to Lightroom?
I believe it’s in the share menu, it has an “open with” function. Tbh it’s been a while but I think that was it.
@@dunnadidit :) it doesn't work... I'm switching to JPG as the default setting
Very interesting.
Dunna Did It found the cause... I was using 2018 Lightroom and 2019 version supports which is why most people haven't faced it ...
thank you its beter
Great!
Nice video again mste, very helpfull, love you video,,
Thanks man! Glad you enjoyed it!
Nice video Dunna! I like that you covered how much people want to see stuff 'NOW', and that's just where we are today. I for one am still appreciative of the process involved with editing RAW on my Mac, but i may just have to play around with the app a bit more on my phone.
Thanks! It really is a NOW world right now. We live with a sense of instant gratification. And if you can’t beat em... join em 😉😁
Bruh, one day late.
Nice tips!
All good man I won't hold it against you lol! Thanks for watching :)
My laptop has a card reader but I asked cos of my phone, I use an Android phone.
Yeah it should work as long as it’s got micro usb as it’s main connector! I know some of the newer phones are switching to usb c.
Hey Dunna, I normally use special LR export settings to get higher resolution on my IG or FB pics. But when I’m ready to export from LR mobile I only get two options.. Small 2048px or Maximum available. Which one should I use or is there a way to dial in my custom settings like on the desktop?
I use the 2048 option on LR mobile. My understanding is that will work better since there is less compression from Instagram. As far as I’m aware those are your only choices.
Dunna Did It that's what I figured. I ended up purchasing one of t those sd card deals for my iPhone and it's working like a charm. I thought lightoom mobile would let me upload raw since I had an account with them on my desktop but i ended up with a 4.99 monthly plan lol. Thanks again bro 🤙🏽
That’s great that it’s working for you! But it only lets you do raw if you’re on the monthly plan? Ahh that’s too bad! Still pretty cool to be able to edit raw on your phone though hey!!
The rolling shutter is just awful. But a great channel!
Haha yes! While I was editing this video I noticed how bad it was on some of the shots! Hopefully that’s something that Sony will address in the future generations (I know the a7iii) is supposed to be way better.
And thanks for the compliment about my channel! I appreciate it!
Dunna Did It premiere pro has a plug-in to fight rolling shutter, i think. Have you ever tried it?
I haven’t really messed with it much! But it looks like it’s time to try it out it think! From what I understand it’s pretty much throw it on and voila! You have any experience with it?
Dunna Did It no, i haven't used it. i use Panasonic camera, it seems not to have so obvious rolling shutter issues as some of Sony have. But yes, from what I've seen (over tutorial), it's quite easy :)
How about adroid?
Should work just fine on Android as well!
@@dunnadidit ok
Question.. My pics are sharp on my camera (sony a6300) roll as well. When I load it to my phn (note 8) in raw format, the pics isn't as sharp. When I upload to ig it looks grainy or even blurry. Why is that? Plz help a brother out! Thanks in advance 🙏🏾 🙏🏾 🙏🏾
That sounds weird! I can’t think of what would do that.. anyone else?
O' I forgot to mention that, it's type C connector
Ah! Yeah this specific one won’t work but there are some versions on amazon that are type c as well!
Dunna thanks
too much work. This is stressful ..useless
Haha yes, it sure can be.
Took ten minutes to say "just edit photos before uploading"....wtf. cool video but didn't learn anything
Thats great that you already knew everything in the video! I know it was still very helpful to a lot of people. It wasn't necessarily about just the editing, but also, many people are still using their phones and haven't thought of using a standalone camera as an option. Part of that is because they don't know how to deal with files and editing and such. So this video just kind of laid out partially how I went from bland iphone photos to having a more successful instagram.
I will drop a message for on Instagram
