Starting from Lagos Island, close to Tinubu square we will take a walk in the streets of the historical city center, taste some street food, keep walking to CMS, Marina bus stop, and more... before to take the motorcycle to reach Victoria Island and end up the trip in a very different atmosphere in the most famous deluxe hotel Eko hotel.

Nostalgic…I was an American teaching kids to pass JAMB and WAEC in Lagos some years ago. Was one of the best times of my life. I know these streets and the spark of life they breathe. I felt so alive on those streets, fighting busboys, fighting bikers, meeting Agbayros…shot out to my old neighborhood in VGC and my countless friends and students I met in Yaba, Mushin, Surulere…
yeah i understand how someone may miss Lagos.... that s a place you cannot compare to any other on earth..thanks a lot for watching and sharing your feelings
I'm watching from New Zealand. Lagos is a fascinating colourful diverse city!
I’m an American but I’m destined to be home I love my people I feel so connected to Nigerians
thanks a lot for watching !
It’s been 20 years since I last went back home to Lagos, if I close my eyes and reflect I can feel myself on these streets again.
i am happy that I was able to bring you back there during this short video
the dirty streets
@@Armed-Forever I don’t think anyone here was looking for someone to spell that out.

Indonesia. Been there twice. Miss Nigeria always
I did the same in the other way, I have been twice to indonesia
As a Lagosian, Lagos is the safest state in Nigeria. However, you need to know where to go and not to go. Although very rarely do you get attacked in crowded place. It’s a very nice city. Populated by both the wealthy and poor we all relate.
Yes that is 100 percent true, this is what i wanted to show here. Thanks a lot for watching and dropping a comment
Or maybe he was safe because he's white.
If you need to know where to go and where not to go then it is not the safest place
Lagos isn't in the top 10 safest states stop caping

Lagos so full of life at 11pm! Watching from 🇰🇪
thanks so much for watching !!!
I’m Congolese watching from London… Nice content and LOVE to my fellow Nigerians people and BIG🙌🏽UP to all Africans ✊🏽
thanks a lot, I really hope you will enjoy the journey coming soon, I am on the road to Ghana
This was a very amazing film, all the night scenes and camera angles convey all the colour and atmosphere completely authentically along with the actual sounds. The contrasts shown between the street scenes and the luxury Eko Hotel was also very interesting to see. I think this film should win a film award because it must have been the nearest experience to being actually there that it was possible for someone just viewing a film on YT.
I think you might have been in more danger walking around parts of London at night.
that s absolutely true for the danger i could have takken if it was in London, or Paris !
thanks so much for your warm comment, I am really glad these can allow people to feel how the life is here. please don't hesitate to share the video to help it to travel more, and help the channel at the same time
Thanks for showing the true depiction of Lagos, Nigeria. I hate whenever some tourist go to one particular community, like the slums and then say this is Nigeria. It’s like someone coming to the United States and go to an Amish community or the country and say this is the whole United States.
thanks a lot for your warm comment, i like to depict lagos the way it is, i don't select any particular aspect, i just go everywhere
I would love to go there but as an outsider you don’t want to put yourself in places where you might be an easy target. Will people might feel like I’m disrespecting them by visiting these nice streets in Nigeria as a white / light skinned tourist?
@@Chargeittothegame23_ Nah we have alot of foreigners here and no one gets disturbed or offended
Great video, love that you just walk around it really conveys the atmosphere. Lagos seems chaotic and relaxing all at once 😮

A walk in the night enjoying the sights, the sounds, the aromas, delicious food in a relaxed atmosphere, followed by a calm ride on uncongested roads, ending at a quiet five star luxury hotel. Much appreciated and much needed chill time.

This is nice video. This is a memory lane to me. It’s been than 40yrs i have been home. I saw the street i went to school. Lion building which is police headquarters. I went to Holy Cross which is not far from there. Watching from US. Thanks for the video. Very informative with good scenery.

Great Stuff Ludo. Whatever is the size of one's wallet... There's a Nightlife for you in Lagos.
yes that s is it exactly, there is night life for everyone here, and every budget .
i took my first beer for 350, the second, for 2000.... they were the same

2 mondes bien différents, Eko hôtel, ça rappelle bien des souvenirs ! Un Noël au soleil. ..
oohhh oui.... Il y a un monde entre lagos island et eko hotel !
wow living in nigeria 10years thats great
Yes that s quiet some time
Your videos are great! I really like these ones the best where you interact with the people, trying different foods, seeing different types of shops in the city. Keep up the good work, I am one day hoping to visit this region and experience the culture!
thanks a lot, i really appreciate your feedback, i also like these vlogged videos a lot, i will do more
😲 the litter on the streets! Sheer madness! I hate litter!
same here, i feel so sad to see we cannot fix that problem and work on that as citizens
@@Ludo_Liu heck of a series of public announcements...and not to be a stacy stick in the mud but this feels like a cultural spy video!
Those places are market. That's Lagos island. I'm sure you can see someone sweeping the place at a point in the video. All will be swept before morning and the circle continues.
I am watching your videos early Monday morning here in Australia kudos Ludo!!!
Morning! same here when i ready your comment, it is monday, 5.40 am, getting ready for another week
Yep this is the city i love can't wait to get back there. It's life, movement no dull moment.
that s true, the atmposhere here, cannot be compare to any city on earth
Yes 👍 more night videos 🎉
More to come for sure, thanks a lot for being here
Some friday nights from Idumota to Obalende are really amazing. The vibe is enthusiastic. The streets and alleys are life-oriented, naturalized and disordered.
That is the most beautiful part of city l like in the world.
It reflects the real daily life and mentality of the citizens, showing shallow and superficial joys and sorrows.
Couldn't agree more on the fact that this particular places are really alive !!
thanks so much for commenting !!
Awesome video, great quality!
Thanks so much
The hotel is a show of extravagance. See how sparsely the environment was populated. The resource to build the hotel could be redirected into human development as Nigerians are very smart people if only they are given the opportunity to excel.
This is the Lagosian contrast, where street life and deluxe life can be found in the same place
I think it's because it's night, thats why it is sparsely populated
The hotel is owned and built by smart Nigerian people who saw a niche in the hotel industry .
For a city that has 1.3 million visitors a year, there aren't even 40 5 star hotels in Lagos's highbrow areas!
So leave Lagosians to do Lagos while you do Mali ( or is it Guinea Conakry or Senegal)!
How is this street dangerous? Looks very peaceful to me with people mingling and having a good time.
yes the streets are not as dangerous as people use to describe. you are right, this is what i wanted to show here
This was a wonderful video clearly and professionally shot and better than what a normal television program
What was more interesting was the contrast between uptown Lagos and downtown Lagos
You need to be loaded to enjoy a beer that costs 2000 Naira in the opulence atmosphere of Eko hotel
Luxury costs and comes at a heavy price that’s the moral of the video
Also I was shocked to see Tinubu Square so Vibrant at Night this is what one expects of places like Surulere and Ojuelegba
I always thought the island would be a dead place after 8pm after all millions of people only go their to transact business
thanks for the eye opener of a Video
Thanks a lot for watching and dropping a comment i also like the contrast here, i like to go from on atmposhere to another one in 5 minutes
2000 naira is only 5 dollars tho. That's not expensive
@@Bryan-eq6nt kkkk 😅 ok
Everyone seems polite and friendly. I live in Manchester, England
yes Nigerian population is very friendly and warm !

What is so brave about that?...loll... Lagos is not a war zone, please....
I didn't see any danger, so why would bravery be required? SMH
Very nice videos thanks for the wording slides threw out the video and talking makes it much better love ❤️ it 😊
Thanks so muchhhhhhh
I doubt if this place is dangerous like you said... I run my restaurant business there. I even saw my restaurant building... Any other place in the world can be dangerous when it's very late (at night/dark) or isolated. Much love
i said in the video, that the place suffers from a bad reputation, but in fact it is really nice and welcoming, this was the aim of the video
thanks for being here, hope you will like the episode coming tomorrow, a really nice travel journey starting between Nigeria and Ghana
Amazing how you walk through without no confrontation. Am just wondering how you can able to film all this! Body camera I don't know. Because lagos at night is something else. Another great video from you. Be safe outside mr Ludo and thanks for sharing.

I’m a Surulere babe so we don’t have much experience of street life while leaving in Nigeria. Not allowed to eat out. I believed it was because we are a large families of 8 girls so my mum cooks everything we eat. We all attended boarding schools . I grew up to be scared of Lagos streets so I don’t hang out or eat out. Now that I’m back in Nigeria I only hang out around Sheraton or Fela shrine.
I like to go in surulere, many things to do there. If you are around the new africa shrine you should definitively go there tonight for the felabration festival
I can be your friend if you wish 🥰 I can show you round the streets of Lagos, in and out, I love Lagos so much and it’s the only place I go to whenever I arrive Nigeria, I’m so proud to live in Lagos for more than 7 years, 🙌

We must also take into consideration that he was walking the streets alone as a man, im sure for women it would be quite different. Nonetheless always a pleasure to see my paternal home country💗💗💗
yeah it lmaybe would be different, cause some guys may try to speak to you, ..., but is it diffeent in paris or London ?
I feel here, you have a great chance to meet some guys that are very respectful, even if they try. I won't promise the same if you walk in paris in many places
For a woman walking alone in the dark that would be every gaddemn city in the entire world, including Vatican City!
And not just Lagos!
Having said that, a mature well dressed woman would often command respect in Lagos as a "Mummy", Aunty" or a "Madam"!
That wouldn't happen in any European or western cities of the world!

Not many people can afford hanging out in a place like Eko hotel but it’s not bad doing that once in a while. Most especially Fridays
Yeah, not bad, but really borring compare to an evening outside i feel... And sooo expensive...
Good evening from USA 🇺🇸

You’re lucky nobody harmed you while you walked with your friend on streets.
It was beautiful hotel in Lagos! It was very nice decoration in hotel area. I wish I visit Eko Hotel.
See ya next time, Ludo! Peace ✌️
There's no luck required to walk those streets! Lagos is relatively safe and peaceful. Lagos ain't no cities like Chicago, Baltimore, Brooklyn, Camden, New Orleans, Los Angeles, Detroit, Compton, DC, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Atlanta, and Houston with extremely high crime rates!
I am really sorry, hope your ersonnal issues are solved.
I didn't feel unsafe during that walk, like almost everytime in Lagos, i feel very secure, there was no reason to be injured.
Thankd so much for being here Lawrence
@universal Nihi, I agree on that, Lagos is far from what's usually described
Aahhhh! Typical Mr. Forman's commentary! We missed your "live" comments last week too! But as you can see, Mr. Liu is SAFE in Eko!! I can even say Eko is safer than your shores out there in NJ!! How I wished to see a change in your perception of naija! 😉🤔
