    Great Job Roman love the new build, that Alu Cab is super cool. If i were going overlanding i would tow a Patriot Camper, 155L of water, storage, cooking, extra fridge and a hot shower.

    Would love to see an actual Overlanding trip with the kit out on the Ram, not just a token overnight trip to Moab. Bring us somewhere beautiful and show us around. Tommy did such a great job of this on his Defender and Bronco road trip videos from a little while back

    My ultimate overlander is my V8 Raptor on beadlocks with a Gazelle T4, folding mattress, Waterport, Jackery 1000, 12v fridge, and a Coleman grill/stove with a 5 lb propane tank. Depending on the destination, a diesel heater or a fly rod and waders.

    Man, overlanding sure has been out of hand the past few years! what happened to throwing a few things in the bed, covering it with a tarp and heading out? Now the vehicles have to be loaded to or over weight capacity, with all sorts of frivolities. Awesome gear non the less and I'm looking forward to the build!

      Throwing a Walmart tent and cooler in the back is just fine. But this is America, if I want to spend $100K on looks and junk I will only use once a year for camping at a paved campground so be it. That's the beauty of living here, you want to ruff it fine, if I want to go glamping and get in massive debt doing it, that's just the American way!

    This is going to be a great series. A thought for a future video would be to buy a budget truck(used long bed) and have David build a topper/camper for it.

    why do you need a Cummins boat anchor for overlanding? when a light weight gasser and low gearing will get one out of a any situation if needed

    I like where you're going with this series, but it feels very similar to the build you did with the F250 a while back. Just a suggestion, but why not continue trying to find the cheapest half-ton (or close to cheapest) and put an overland topper etc. on that? Could be interesting to work within the payload constraints and should be less expensive overall as well. Anyway, looking forward to the series either way!

    I would rather pull a teardrop camper I built myself, nothing beats a solid roof and walls and a door you can lock. The second one I built is made of foam, so far we slept in it below 40 degrees with no heater.

      @Steve Bower Lots of the stuff in this video is nice to have but not necessary. I’m building a Suburban so I already am ahead of the game with a large enclosed area to work with. I don’t need or want all those drawers, pop up tent and stuff. Maybe some pull out sliders, a fridge and I’m good to go with a lot less money spent.

    • @moreypc
      @moreypc Рік тому +2

      starting from ground zero it's real expensive but if you already own a truck it's not horrible. Don't need a Diesel either, gas will do just fine. To be Fair, the Alu-Cab builds are about as expensive as these wedge campers get. If you wanted a truck with wedge camper you can be all in for 10k with a Go Fast and leave the bed more utilitarian. You don't need Goose Gear and Alu-Cab to sleep in your truck.
