3 days ago UA-cam recommended me this video. After binge watching the whole series I can say with absolute certainty that this is the best video series ever made. So if someone ever tries to find the best video series ever made “Finding the Best ARPG Ever Made” is the correct answer.
I've watched since your best class in D2 videos, and I see your writing and humor improve with every video. Genuinely makes me audibly laugh every time
I'd like to recommend a game called Black Ice. It's an ARPG looter shooter similar to Borderlands, but in a cyberpunk virtual reality setting. The building is very freeform, with every gameplay function being customizable. You can even get better jumping or mobility tools through loot, or you can replace your jump entirely. It's good stuff and very unknown, so a feature on your channel could raise its profile singlehandedly. Good luck in the future!
one of the most interesting aspects of T3 not mentioned in the video in my opinion is the weapons system - different weapons types do different % DMG from their base DMG listed, I don't remember those exactly but I think 2 handed swords do 500% while staves do 80% os somethinglike that , combine that with class abilities that boost base attacks and you have a variety of Base attack builds which is something rarely seen in the ganre and something I liked in T1 too. Also the Relics system is very cool form/variety of a multyclass system, also the most interesting classes in the Torchlight franchise, also the class ability resource management is very cool and gives a nice pacing to combat when you get the hand of it for different classes. there were other things that I liked bout the game but Mixed rating is deserved sadly, too many issues and some poor design decisions keep it from being called underrated, Its just that people often miss the cool things about it because of all the issues overshadowing the good stuff.
Come on, we all know Zelda II is the best ARPG ever made. But seriously I love Zelda II, I replayed it recently and I still wish we had a more modern take on it.
are the dark alliance games on your roadmap? those are super fun and they hold up with the gritty realistic ish graphics and chunky combat. i like that they're more about smaller encounters of tough enemies instead of spawning dozens of trash mobs.
All games should have difficulty selection. It's not about "what the devs want"...What they want is to make a game. Players get to choose things like difficulty, screen resolution, sound volume, when to PAUSE, etc. Options in the options screen are just that. They have nothing to do with the game itself. The game itself is the mechanics/programming, art/design, and writing/narrative. Cue all from Fromsoft fanbois yelling "but it rUiNs the ViSiOn of the DeVeLoPeRs!!1!!111"
Oh noo this hot garbo... Poor Seer Also yeah, I agree with the customization thing. You pretty much can't see that crap and you'll hide it in armor in 2s anyways. There's no point to it but any time I mention it I get sh on by ARPG fans.
I think it fulfills that primal need to leave a mark on the world. Instead of playing the fighter guy, you're playing _your_ fighter guy. So when you do get all that fancy armor that covers you head to toe, you remember what he used to look like, and still does under that armor. Is it rational? Not at all, but there are people who will spend time customizing their face in the elder scrolls games.
I realized a couple of videos ago that Seer sounds like Z from ANTZ (or Woody Allen), but now that I've thought this I can't get the image of Z the ant playing ARPGs and explaining or complaining about the said game. This video is no different and has given me another fit of giggles.

Yeah, I didn't really enjoy this game myself. Since I was little and grew up with Norrath and Dark Alliance, I really have yet to find anything that really captured or fit that style. Untold Legends series might be worth checking out too!
When I played this game (when they still cared about it) I played railmaster with the lightning artifact. It was so obscenely overpowered that it would've sent an epileptic into a seizure. I would hit one enemy with a basic attack, which triggered a lightning strike on them, triggering sparks to shoot across the ground, triggering another lightning strike. I could hit just once and watch an area of enemies die. This was like an infinite combo but in ARPG form. I kinda miss it lol

In the arena mode, you can hire, train, and sacrifice gladiators against a wide variety of foes in varying battle scenarios (3 on 1, free for all, 1 on 1, 1 against massive beast ogre thingy, fistfights, and more). There is a story mode that has... a story (I think) along with a deep and intricate hand-crafted dungeon filled with enemies, allies, weapons, armor, secrets, and every run is hardcore (whether you want it or not).
