Wow this is the first time i solo in my guitar, i NEVER knew how this felt, i'm no longer chained to mindless power chords, i can navigate the whole neck that once was pure darkness, so happy x_c

For those of us who are new to "chord chasing," THANK YOU for showing WHAT CHORD is playing, currently, so we can practice on being in the right area, THANK YOU! 😁👍 And, I didn't realize this was "Scott Paul Johnson" tracks until a comment popped up. I really appreciated your C.A.G.E.D. video back in the day, revisted it recently, and I also printed out your C.A.G.E.D. PDF document for my son who is learning to play the guitar. Thank you, Scott Paul Johnson! ☺️❤️
Just learned the caged system after years of playing. It's crazy cause I feel like all my studying kind of unlocked something and I can now start to learn how to solo better haha
Took me a good while to get the idea, but I am happily playing along, and becoming much more fluid with this arrangement. Thank you a million times! I think your lessons are THE best format for learning. Ghost hands!
Thanks so much for these jam tracks, man. It gives me so much space to try and put it all together and experiment. Really, you've been doing a great job as a teacher, thank you so much.
hey man, you should link your lesson videos in the description!! maybe then more people will see them !! and that would be good cause they're great, haha
Hi there! I teach this stuff on my Patreon! I have tons of lessons to help you understand this kind of thing. The nutshell: A C Major scale is C D E F G A B C C is the first note of the scale - if we build a chord from C E G (1, 3, & 5 of the scale) we get the "I" chord - the chord using the 1st note of the C scale as it's root note. A is the 6th note of the scale - when be build a chord using A as the root note (6 1 3 of the scale) we get an A Minor chord. Because it's the only chord we can make with the A as the root, it's called "The iv chord"
I feel like all the hard work is paying off

Congrats

I'm surprised I found my comment 2 years later. I still jammed to this for 10 minutes straight! So fun.

great track; abrupt ending
T Wood Abrupt? I think it ends just
Phil M. Yeah i was mid jam and then bam silence!
It’s like if I was going to tell you the secret to improvise incredibly and then I
T Wood 😂
What does I IV means? Is it the CAGED pattern?
It's the degree of the chord in the scale
C is I
D is II
E is III
And so on. Basically start from the key and count
I dont get Pentatonics :( I cant feel the sound. My solo is so flat i cant make it sound like jazz or blues.
Learn types of techniques too
