Anyone else feel like crying because they've FINALLY found a teacher who explains things thoroughly AND makes it all so easy to understand? teaching style is unreal man thank you!!
There are a million videos on how to play the pentatonic scale, and then everybody just says, "so noodle around with that and find what sounds good." I have literally NEVER seen another video that takes "noodling" and turns it into a productive, practicable way to learn how to solo melodically. There is so much info here that other guitar teachers either just don't know, or don't know how to teach. Your videos are GREAT. Please keep it up!
Not gonna lie, this is my second video of yours I'm watching and I seriously almost want to cry. S2g I'm not exaggerating. You have quite literally unlocked my 7th chakra or some shit. I'm a pretty experienced rhythm player and have been for several years but I have struggled with solos every single step of the way. I know so many scales, but I just can't make them sound melodic and *not* like...well, scales. This video is the most patient, clear-cut, and understandable explanation on how to scales into solos I've ever watched...and I've watched several videos on this topic. My dude you just fucking KILLED IT. Holy shit i've never seen a better guitar lesson than this and it was just 13 minutes. I'm blown away. Please keep this up you''ll reach 1 million subs in no time
When we see those guys online demoing a guitar or amp or effect - they sell the product by playing with excellent phrasing. We automatically believe we'll sound like them if we have that product, but we often miss the fact that, their phrasing is selling the product. From what I've observed, if the phrasing is good, the tone and the amp and the guitar don't matter so much. The real guitar magic is great phrasing.
I've watched a lot of guitar tutorials here in youtube, by far this guy gave the most clear explanation in every topic. Most of the guitar tutors here start their videos with crazy solos and showing their impressive gears.
I've been watching guitar lessons videos since the day youTube arrived and I'vo got to say this is the best. Whoa! He took such a complex topic and broke it down into simple small digestible chunks that make it so easy to make the jump for a struggling learner. wow.
Scott, I believe much of the nice sounds you are making come from hammers, slides and bends. Do you have instruction on those? I also realize that you are experienced and very fluid on the fretboard.

I think this is my first time commenting on a UA-cam video. Man! can't believe how you just explained this! You took a complex idea and simplified it to the maximum without compromising its content and practicality. Thank you.
There are so many vids labelled "breakthrough" but this one is IT for me. I had never heard the term phrasing, just licks to be memorized. Thanks so much!
The way you teach is the best I've found so far. I've checked out ALOT so I'm not just saying that. Thank you for explaining it in a simple understandable manner.

Thanks for creating this lesson. It reinforces what I've been trying to do all along. In the first six months that I was playing, I busted my butt to learn all five Pentatonic shapes and all seven Diatonic shapes. Now I do everything I can to expand them, contract them, and play them in his many different ways as I can. The problem is it's easy to slip into the old mold--but this lesson really helps with that.
I have learned more in watching like 3 of your videos than I have in years of other lessons and even music theory classes. Comprehensive and straight forward. Thanks a ton!

One of the best guitar instructors on UA-cam. Doesn't go too fast but keeps you moving forward.
Explains the practice and the theory in an understandable way.
Man, that was an excellent video! Really great presentation and editing, super useful information. Thanks so much!
It's like a lightbulb has gone off. Just a few days of practicing what you've taught here and already, I've been able to come up with my own licks, which is something I couldn't do with a gun to my head a week ago. THANK YOU SO MUCH. I can't wait to get into more of your videos!
ACAB is my favorite one
Mine too!

First time ever I comment a video on UA-cam since I have my account (15 years maybe?). Every one of your videos are just the light at the end of the tunnel. Thank you so much, brother.
Another Sooper one again!!! This is what I was looking for so many years .... loved it ... now my turn to start internalizing and take it somewhere nice .... Thx a Ton !!! 👍👍🎸
Well, yeah, but for people that can already play like that (and even for many that can't), the tone and amp absolutely do matter
😆😀👏🏾
I've watched a lot of guitar tutorials here in youtube, by far this guy gave the most clear explanation in every topic. Most of the guitar tutors here start their videos with crazy solos and showing their impressive gears.
This great! Extremely helpful!
Best teaching style I’ve came across in 10 years of playing guitar
"im not going to sing it for you" made me giggle at bit.
I've been watching guitar lessons videos since the day youTube arrived and I'vo got to say this is the best. Whoa! He took such a complex topic and broke it down into simple small digestible chunks that make it so easy to make the jump for a struggling learner. wow.
Wow man, you're a fantastic teacher.I really like labelling the phrases this way.Anyways thanks.
definitely helped me take the step towards playing far more cohesive leads rather than just running up and down the scales. awesome video
Scott, I believe much of the nice sounds you are making come from hammers, slides and bends. Do you have instruction on those? I also realize that you are experienced and very fluid on the fretboard.
I have a video about that in the pipeline!
Your teaching style is far superior. I can actually understand stuff rather than feeling confused and frustrated.
Ive seen steve stine
But I prefer yours
❤️❤️
The Best teacher On UA-cam.
Been playing Since 5 years but like a dumb.
You gave me the direction.
Please keep uploading videos like these.
Appreciate your efforts 🙏
Hey Mister! almost 3 years looking for someone who can easily explain things and I finally found you 😉😉
Thank you from Amsterdam!
I've been trying to learn scales and how to use them and I've watched countless videos and just found myself spinning my tires in the mud. Your videos have simplified everything ty so much.
You have got to be one of the best tutors on you tube. Your approach to teaching is fantastic. You simplify things that seem challenging at 1st. Thanks for your time and effort.
dude, I've been trying to get better on guitar for years by watching tube vids. With varying degrees of success.......but, I just ran into yours recently and it's all coming together. You're a great teacher. Thank you so much!
I've been struggling with solos for three years now and after watching this video it is do much easier. Thank you
Just watched caged soloing video and now this and have more understanding of playing guitar than years of watching loads of other vids. Your teaching style is excellent. Awesome lesson. Thanks
Hi I would like to say thanks first off. I'm a beginner guitar player I'm 62yr. old I've been trying to teach myself the guitar for about a year now I have been making some progress but not like I like to. Now that I have found your videos on UA-cam it has been making it a lot easier for me to understand what I need to know to make me a better guitar player. I will be looking forward to hearing some more of your courses like I said before thank you.
Thanks man i picked up my guitar again today after a long time cuz i always get stuck and dont feel i progress but today i saw your pentatonic scale video and it was so clear and easily explained it just all clicked in my brain and ive been jamming to backing tracks for hours having fun with the scale and finding where i can add extra notes outside the scale that still fit. Awesome teacher
I think this is my first time commenting on a UA-cam video. Man! can't believe how you just explained this! You took a complex idea and simplified it to the maximum without compromising its content and practicality. Thank you.
At this point I am binge watching all your videos man. Love your teaching style.
Hands down you are one one the BEST on line teachers. Thanks for helping all us “want to be “ guitarist out here.
So I haven't been excited about playing the guitar in years. Stuck, bored, not enjoying practice, etc This lesson and your CAGED system lesson and I'm pumped. Feels good. Thankyou
I really feel like crying rn, you've almost changed my life, I could never wrap my head around scales and notes even though I've been playing guitar for 3 years and your videos just taught me so fucking much. Thank you so much. You're indeed the best guitar teacher.
Scot is the best guitar teacher online ever! The way you presented your ideas is simply amazing!
I have learned more in watching like 3 of your videos than I have in years of other lessons and even music theory classes. Comprehensive and straight forward. Thanks a ton!
My guitar teacher made me create my very own solo for a g major scale backing track as an assignment, which I have to present on our next session. I’ve been struggling to create one for two weeks now and I’ve been anxious because of it. After scouring various UA-cam videos, I have finally come across this video and let me tell you, you have helped me immensely! Thank you so much for this🙌
You so much help me understand theory of music ... No one explain me before..
Bro, thank you so much!!! You epitomize Einstein's theory, “If you can't explain it to a six year old, you don't understand it yourself.” I learned more from you than anyone else ever!!!
You just made me go forward again I was practicing at the same time as you with myy own guitar, I stuck I know all the 5 major pentatonic scales and the 5 minor pentatonic shapes as well I was stuck on how to use them this video just helped me alot, thank you Sir now jumping to part 2
I finally found the best UA-cam guitar instructor. You are the best. Your methods and the way you showed is so clear and easy to understand. Keep it up brother. Thank you
You're the best teacher...You're no 1 out of 1000. Please go ahead with what you're good at.
Never stop teaching please! Your videos are amazing. Period. Hands down the best guitar lessons of all time. I’ve picked up the guitar again after awhile, I don’t know what I need to learn but I’m sure anything you show will be more helpful than anything I can find on the Internet! You make every concept soooo simple.
