I too hope that Piter de Vries plays a prominent role in the game. In Dune the novel, we only got to see a small part of his diabolical cruelty and cunning before Leto gassed him out of existence.
I was deployed to Iraq and Kuwait as a soldier. It helps with my immersion in a Dune game to have essentially been to Arrakis. Even met some Fremen (Bedouins) Anyway, looking forward to this one. Hoping it adds something novel to the MMO genre.
I am cautiously optimistic about this. I feel like the timeline changes are interesting, and indicative of a team that understands the source material well.
Control, the illusion of it. Humans lost control of AI and again with the kwisatz haderach. The worm, the great beast, symbolizing nature. Never fully tamed. "The mystery of life isn't a problem to solve, but a reality to experience".
All the old video games were a lot of fun. I'm intrigued to, hope it's not another Sweet Baby Inc social distortion. If it's not, I'll give a shot, love Frank Herbert's Dune books, nice twists they did here. Thank you for the heads up Cookies.
Thanks for the video... I agree, I just hope the game play is fun, and the story is well told... I really hope it's not going to be a story lite survival game, or another souls like system... Or worse, a Console port... Most Console ports onto PC tend to be problematic without a controller, and I hate controllers... hehe... The bigger question is, how many years will we need to wait for it to come out, or to get some actual game play footage... I think the gaming market is thirsty for some great games, without any forced agendas...
seems kinda boring if its only dessert environment forever... and they gonna have to make up a bunch of monsters unless its nothing but worms and human enemies, it would be cool if they bring back the thinking machines as enemies
GROAN. Not an MMO . If they had sone it a single player thing like say fallout 3 or 4 then it would have been great but whenever I hear MMO I think of loot boxes, PvP power players 5hitting over everyone else, monetization, other players playing for all different reasons breaking immersion, Im not hopeful tbh.

The original Dune (1992) game was a graphic adventure game by Cryo Interactive. Highly recommended.

Elaine, what class are you going to play? Mentat, Bene, or soldier?
Thanks Elaine!

Being a carebear isn't a legitimate criticism
