Yep love the old Metallica was listening to them back in the 80s - 90s saw a concert in July 22 1998 i think it was an awesome concert in Pittsburgh Pa Star lake !
You reacted exactly like me when I first heard this song way back. Bafflement. On this album, they all go full force with the riffs, solos, and drums. After this, they simplified and made a lot more 'radio-friendly' songs that appeal to the masses, which is fine. The rhythm changes, that jackhammer sound of drums, and the compressed guitars are just pure joy from start to finish. This was Metallica when they were at their prime musically. They're tight and proficient af. Great reaction guys. Brought back some memories for me.
This IS their best album I know people bitch about the lack of bass but the guitar sound and James voice were absolute peak and every song on the album is a masterpiece
Absolutely loved the longer outro of discussing the song, and having the man behind the scenes play the song quietly behind the talk. Liked that a lot. More of that.
Creeping Death the live version from Moscow '91. You don't even need to watch the video, but their energy was off the chains (yes, I know that Seattle '89 was even faster, but I personally prefer the '91 live version best). Enjoy! ✌️
I hit my head on a paddle van side mirror, riding past it on a bike; while banging my head to this song circa 1989 via cassette walkman. Infinite love and gratitude from Colorado!
I saw them live at 14 years old in 1989 on tour for this album. Blew my fuckin mind. At the end of this song, the giant statue of Lady Justice on stage exploded and fell apart into pieces.
i was fifteen in 89 and rammed a bottleneck through my heel two weeks before the fuckin concert - i was devastated, so my first time was 1992 black album tour in Mannheim
I believe 'And justice for all'... was inspired by the Al Pacino legal drama movie 'And justice for all' (in 1979) about a lawyer who is frustrated by the court system that favors the rich and powerful and accosts those who are unable to offer up finances... and he eventually cracks up under stress. The album 'And justice for all' was Metallica's 4th in 1988 and was their first to chart in the US top 10 and sell 2x platinum (8x platinum now) ... But it came after the tragedy of losing bassist Cliff Burton in a 1986 tour bus accident. James Hetfield (vocals/ guitar) wrote lyrics that were incredibly violent and negative, especially after the trauma he had experienced losing a friend. Jason Newsted (bass) joined Metallica in 1986 to complete the tour for 'Master of Puppets'... However, his bass tracks were faded out on the album's mix so that Lars Ulrich's drumming was more audible... Newsted's song ideas were mostly rejected. He was still the odd man out in Metallica but was loyal to the band until he opted to quit in early 2001. The success of 'And Justice for all' ... put Metallica in arenas, headlining for the first time on a world tour dubbed 'Damaged Justice tour'... which lasted from 1988 well into 1989.
Krazy is here for METALLICA!! I first heard this when I was fifteen years old, the only difference between the way you and I are listening to this is I'm screaming every word!!!😂
Watch the Master of Puppets Live from Seattle. You guys are getting a taste of Tallica with the albums songs, but you gotta SEE the energy they put into the live shows. Especially from this era, when this song and the album with the same name came out. These dudes were a force of nature.
I would definitely recommend the live versions as well. Especially the more recent concerts have excellent audio and video quality! Even in their early 60s, they still rock mercilessly!
I met the band in '93 and this was the album that hooked me for life (I had heard them before but I was more into pop music at that time!!!) You should do the video for "One" from this album, too!!!! That will blow your mind!
That might be best Metallica you've heard this far, you'll change your mind after you've heard blackened and Harvester of sorrow off same incredible album 🤘
Lovley to see new metalheads being born. I was 4th in line outside my local record shop when this album was released 7th of September 1988,i was 17 then 😂 The bastard that owned the shop had put the vinyl album in the store window the night before to tease the crap out of every one 😂😂 record sold out in 2 hours i remember. Great album this.
Guys....I honestly recommend that you check out Metallica - Creeping death live in Moscow.......1,6 milion people in attendence and the energy is unreal!!!!...the song is about the tale of Moses....happy holidays and all the best from Serbia! 🤘
Hey..just an FYI that Metallica will be in Tampa, at RayJay, in May 2025. Tix are ridiculously expensive but they do two nights, no repeat sets. I’m saving up because I’ve never seen them live. They definitely aren’t the same band they were in the 80’s but it’s a bucket list concert for me. Maybe I’ll see you guys there?
Dude, I was real surprised and skeptical watching us first reaction, but it was real. And you also appreciation and understanding of music and complexity and the instrumentation kind of blew my mind. So watch your next one and the next and y'all are the s***. Subscribed. Been to Metallica shows, didn't start listening till 2017 washing my BMW and I listened to 1989's Seattle performance live. Do that on headphones. Then we can talk.
Love the channel guys! Happy I stumbled upon it a few days ago. Got a song u need to hear. “Run to the hills” by Iron Maiden. I think they are one of the best metal bands ever!
yo I learned to drive to this album in 2001, I then substituted the poem I was supposed to read in English class in 10th grade to get a rise out of my teacher and to my surprise I think she got w3t

Absolutely loved the longer outro of discussing the song, and having the man behind the scenes play the song quietly behind the talk. Liked that a lot. More of that.
There's nothing more pleasing than seeing two metalheads being born! 🤘🤘🤘
Battery live in Seattle.

Live in Moscow 1991 was FIREEE! And I was only 11 by then and didn't understand shit about metal yet. Oh man what a missed opportunity!
I love Lars's drumming on this album 🤘🤘

Watch the Master of Puppets Live from Seattle. You guys are getting a taste of Tallica with the albums songs, but you gotta SEE the energy they put into the live shows. Especially from this era, when this song and the album with the same name came out. These dudes were a force of nature.
Metallica at their best. This album is their magnum opus-the greatest metal album of all time. Perfect
I would definitely recommend the live versions as well. Especially the more recent concerts have excellent audio and video quality! Even in their early 60s, they still rock mercilessly!
You literally cant go wrong with any song from their first album all the way through the black album.
