I actually think the Tower Stone is quite useful, in fact it’s always the first stone that I pick with a new character. Yes it becomes pretty useless at higher levels, but I personally like to use it to don’t accidentally level up lockpicking in the early game and still get good loot from chests. Afterall, the enemies level with you and you don’t want to be wasteful when playing on legendary.
Honestly, the Atronach and the Lord Stone are, imo, tied for the best. The Lover Stone is great for early game, in order to level some skills, but I think that you should eventually replace them based on playstyle. The Atronach Stone can be combined with other sources of Magic Absorption to allow you to become immune the magicka damage. Combine this with both enchantments to lower spell costs and the Ash Guardian spell (without a heartstone) and you don't need to worry about your own magicka pool either. The Lord Stone just gives extra protection on top of what your armor already does, which makes it great for various builds. I'd list a stone to help stealth builds, but the stealth archer really does not need a stone to become broken. using the Aetherial Crown and choosing both the Atronach and the Lord Stones? Absolutely great for many builds. The magic protection from the Lord Stone won't be useful in this case, but the extra AC is. Of course, there are some glitches with the Aetherial Crown that makes other stones (Ritual Stone) broken, but I question if we should consider glitches or not when ranking.
I’m basic. As soon as I think I can survive the odd Ice Wraith or Sabre Cat, I beeline it to the Lord Stone. Then I do the Book of Love quest. 40% magic resist for the rest of the game, 65% if Breton. Mages and dragon breath attacks stop being an issue. Of course, enchanting can do this better, but only after you’ve grinded up the skill, and I personally avoid smithing and enchanting until lategame.
@@pelinalwhitestrake3367 I tend to go all into Alteration get the Atronach perk and all three ranks of magic resist as well as stability. Combine it with the "Book of Love" the Atronach stone and one peace of magic resistant gear. And you're set with 80+ spell absorption and magic resist.
Plus, other thing with the tower stone is that, if you have the anniversary edition, the spell Fenrik's welcome does EXACTLY THE SAME THING for just a few magicka and with invisibility.
PSA: Spell Absorption completely negates the incoming damage of spells it absorbs! I feel like I'm taking crazy pills when the Atronach Stone and Bretons' Dragonskin power are so underappreciated. The Atronach's permanent 50% chance to negate magic damage is already by far the most powerful defensive effect in the game; that it also recharges your own magicka is a cherry on top. The extra 50 magicka is also very appreciable for much of the early-mid game, and itself more than counter-balances the minor reduction to regen rate for most characters (the only exception possibly being early-game Destruction mages). Consequently the Atronach Stone can be considered the default passive option for most playstyles, the only real exceptions being the Steed for early-game Heavy Armor users, and maybe the Lord for early Destruction mages (though with time both builds will come to prefer the Atronach).
The steed stone in amazing for all my build in the early game. Having more carry weight is never bad, especially when you use the heaviest armor possible, having equipped apparel weight negated is extremely helpful, and it’s beautiful to not see my stamina bar drain instantly when I run in heavy armor. But once you get high enough pick pocket and light/heavy armor, you can achieve the same affect with Extra Pockets and Conditioning/Unhindered perks. Which honestly makes the stone itself even better, because it can carry you a long way and then be replaced so you don’t have to keep crutching on it.
The Ritual Stone is also good for charging the Ebony Blade by Destroying the Dark Brotherhood. Use the Blade to kill them, then use the Ritual Stone to resurrect them and slay them again to finish charging the Blade.
As an high elf, i prefer combine my highborn magic with lord stone, give me immunity to any disease, but weaker magic resistance, so lord stone could at least reduce my weakening magick resistance
I just use andromeda to make all the stones more unique. In that mod the steed stone only gives 50 capacity BUT marks stuff on your map and makes you move FORTY percent faster out of combat as well as 50% stamina regen bonus (and finding all stones unlocks the ability to at-will use a bag of holding so who cares about only getting 50 instead of 100). Also the apprentice makes all novice spells free and reduces the cost of everything else while making spells either 50% stronger or weaker (seems to be about 70/30). The lady shows you who could potentially kill you in one more hit and significantly weakens those targets. The lord lets you power attack while out of stamina with the downside of no stamina regen in combat. The lover cheats death once every 15min and randomly gives you enchanted shit. The tower gives you an infinitely repeating treasure hunt quest. Good stuff. Serpent also gives a neat effect of using MP while sneaking to make sneaking 25% faster and as long as you have MP remaining deal 40% (20% for bows/crossbows) more sneak attack damage. Shadow makes you faster in combat and deal more sneak attack damage while near an obstacle as well as improved sneak (gaining all stones gives you the ability to, at-will, leap to enemies via shadow step). So yeah, andromeda, check it out if you find the vanilla stone effects to basic or not game-changing enough. The three first stones are basically the same (though they are nerfed to 10% gain because they have secondary effects that have actual impact instead of just more xp) with the exception of the power they give you when you find all stones.
Well I'd put Atronach over Lord simply because Spell Absorption is busted. But I get it, if you don't build SA, then it's better to have a more reliable Magic Resistance that will always protect you than 50/50 OHKO/NoDmg
The Apprentice stone is the best because using magic especially at a low level is such a pain you're always out and you don't need to be fighting another magic user like with the Atronach stone.
I would not have ranked the lovers stone so high. It would be one of lowest, together with the three specific ones. The reason is quite simple: leveling up is just not interesting. The world levels with you. In my humble opinion, the most interesting stones are those that grant you special moves that are unique. Followed by the non-unique ones and powerful buffs to your build and then at the end the leveling stones. The ritual is the most unique and interesting action you can get. So I would have ranked it highest. Shadow, Tower and serpents special abilities can be achieved on other ways. The skeleton key is just plain better than the tower. As well as the skill that makes your picks unbreakable. The serpent can be substituted with paralyzing poison if you want. And stealth is so powerful without being invisible, you really do not need shadow. So in the end, they are less interesting than the buffs and even the leveling stuff. so they are lowest imho. The buffs are build dependant and mostly not really comparable. So for me: Ritual>buffs>leveling>shadow, tower, serpent. But Maybe I just love hunting for unique abilities :) And I am currently playing a level 1 playthrough and collecting powerful abilities that "outweigh" my level is just fun. Did you know that the werewolf talent tree does not make you level up? You can be level one but a masterwerewolf^^ Also Shouts! Finally usable as main weapon (well if you use the amulet and blessing of talos together with the patched morokai mask and the dragonform shout -> -80% recharge time.
Basically every "Once a day" ability becomes a "However many times I want" just by removing and re-equipping the Crown Also having the Lovers Stone on it allows you to add Rested bonuses just by taking it off when you sleep and putting it back on when you awake
You should do a second part of this video: "standing stones, ranked, when you have the aetherial crown." The once a day stones rise in the ranking when they can be activated multiple times. The ritual stone with aetherial is awesome, as you go from room to room, ressurrecting the foes you have just killed to aid you in the next room.
I’d have Guardian stones over the Lover stone, as you can get the lovers stones effects by sleeping with your spouse and it stacks with the guardian stones. Whereas Lovers stone and lovers comfort does not, it doesn’t even stack with the well rested bonus
I dont forget about the standing stones... I choose a class stone at the beginning of the game then forget about it and question why my skills are leveling up so slow when I start branching out to max out all my skills.
Atronach Stone is the obvious choice for mid to high-levelled characters. Stone + perk + Miraak's set = 100% magic absorption (which means you're completely immune to all magic, poison, and disease while also being hit by magic attacks is like free magicka recharge)
Atronach is the only choice for pure mages after around level 25ish - the extra magika boost is of course nice and the nerf to regen can be easily mitigated, but the magicka absorption ability is unbelievably great, especially with a Breton Dragonborn. With Dragonskin active and a few perks you can get well over 100% spell absorption and tank any dragon priest with ease
from best to worst (I usually make breton mages/battlemages) 1- Lord stone 2- Attronach (can be a best, like lord stone) 3- Steed 4- invis stone 5- Ritual 6- Paralyze 7- Lady 8- Apprentice 9- Tower (srsly trash, u can open max lvl chests with 15 lockpicking) the ones to improve skills I only use when crafting, and combo it with well rested to save myself some time. Cool video, I disagree on the fist places but thats it
I choose the Serpent, not because of the lore nor the ability, but because it is a birthsign and I simply chose it in all TES games, granted in TES 5 you can swap them.
ritual stone is op, kill someone, use the stone, kill more people, wait 24h and use it again, in not a lot of time you have a whole undead army. they dont even turn to ash after 60 seconds. also use the aetherial crown and you can resurrect them without waiting a whole day
In my opinion, steed stone is best one cuz I just carry too many things and dont know what to drop, thats why I get that one skill in pickpocketing which lets you carry more too and can carry a lot of stuff
Steed stone is the go to for people in the early game trying to do a heavy armor build. (Even tought 99% of Skyrim players use light armor, cause the perks are just better). Like C'mon, 50% faster stamina regen? Thing rocks, feck fast travel.
Steed stone is goated on legendary survival mode, extra carry weight doesn't hurt and zero armor weight makes the choice between heavy and light armor dummy easy
Oooh but sir the serpent stone is THE best tool for abusing the leveling system, although it relies on using a glitch. Basicly the glitch let's you pickpocket any item with a 100% chance - though this doesn't raise pickpocketting, it can be really usefull to recover those 20k gold you just spent on 5 high level training sessions. Basically you have to find a way for the trainer to enter the animation where they are getting back up. To do this, they either have to be in the paralized or the ragdoll state. You can use a paralize effect from a weapon, spell, the serpent stone, or even reverse pickpocketting a paralysis poison. The ragdoll state is only created by two shouts, a level 3 Fus-Roh-Dah, or a cycle of any level. Now the thing is that if you want to do this properly, you will probably want to avoid detection, meaning that most method will require some points in some skills like sneak, illusion or pickpocketting. Using the serpent stone is not the only way to achieve this glitch, but it's probably the easiest way consedering it relies on a standing stone (and thus is not exactly thied to your early game build like the other methods).
Atronach Stone is the best end game stone by far it's no contest. The only thing that comes close is Lord Stone, however Lord Stone only gives 50 armor and 25% magic resistance, 50 armor is negligible end game considering how easy it is to hit armor caps without it. Meanwhile Atronach stone gives +50 Magicka which imo pretty much offsets the -50% Magicka Regen already, and by endgame the downside is irrelevant is since Warriors don't need Magicka anyway while Mages have 100% magicka reduction, what is invaluable though is that 50% magic absorption which is on average better than the 25% magic resistance (the difference being magic resistance gives consistent damage reduction while magic absorb is a % chance of negating 100% damage), The more important thing though is that magic absorb sources is harder to obtain than magic resistance, and if you're not exploiting glitches you're gonna want both 80% magic absorb and 80% magic resistance (there are ways to get 100% magic absorb which makes magic resistance pointless, but they either involve glitches or is a temporary thing or requires using suboptimal gear (Miraak's Robes))
Certain stones are good for builds like the serpent stone can be used with a warrior build who doesn’t use magic. I never liked magic so the serpent stone is useful for a warrior build.
I don't like the exp stones. They are just boring, they add nothing distinct to the game. Also since the game levels with you leveling faster doesnt really do anything. I only use them when I want to level something specific fast like smithing or alchemy but otherwise never.
I agree they are kind of dull and only really good at the start of the game. By the time I enter midgame I've usually swapped them out for the Lord or Atronach stone.

And also 2 perks in alteration skill tree, +10% magic resistance each, to make your magic resistance the maximum of 85%.
Could you rank all the different roofs in skyrim? Thatched vs shingles vs stone ect.
Also Aetherium Crown. Play as Breton and get Lord Stone and Atronoch Stone. You'll be bathing in dragon fire.
Ritual stone and dwevern special crown= real potema's plan
The Ritual Stone is also good for charging the Ebony Blade by Destroying the Dark Brotherhood. Use the Blade to kill them, then use the Ritual Stone to resurrect them and slay them again to finish charging the Blade.
Steed Stone Superiorty Society
As an high elf, i prefer combine my highborn magic with lord stone, give me immunity to any disease, but weaker magic resistance, so lord stone could at least reduce my weakening magick resistance
I'm kinda surprised to hear people forgot these.
Once I found out about the aetherial crown, the lady stone and standing stones are the only ones I have used for years.
The Atronach stone is simply the strongest one and there shouldn't really be a discussion; it only deserves the top spot.
The Apprentice stone is the best because using magic especially at a low level is such a pain you're always out and you don't need to be fighting another magic user like with the Atronach stone.
YOUR CHANNEL IS AWESOME THIS IS MY HUMOR
So for me:
Ritual>buffs>leveling>shadow,tower,serpent.
But Maybe I just love hunting for unique abilities :) And I am currently playing a level 1 playthrough and collecting powerful abilities that "outweigh" my level is just fun.
Did you know that the werewolf talent tree does not make you level up? You can be level one but a masterwerewolf^^
Also Shouts! Finally usable as main weapon (well if you use the amulet and blessing of talos together with the patched morokai mask and the dragonform shout -> -80% recharge time.
Picking Breton and going with the Atronach sign is really just the best way to tell mages to screw off.
You know, most of these standing stones would've been very op if you had the aetherial crowm.
Basically every "Once a day" ability becomes a "However many times I want" just by removing and re-equipping the Crown
Also having the Lovers Stone on it allows you to add Rested bonuses just by taking it off when you sleep and putting it back on when you awake
What would be a fun ranking video be, Favorite Skyrim food on how much you would likely eat them.
You should do a second part of this video: "standing stones, ranked, when you have the aetherial crown."
The once a day stones rise in the ranking when they can be activated multiple times.
The ritual stone with aetherial is awesome, as you go from room to room, ressurrecting the foes you have just killed to aid you in the next room.
Do this many people really not know about the Aetherium Crown and how it lets you stack the Lover's Stone with the Mage/Warrior/Thief stone?
I’d have Guardian stones over the Lover stone, as you can get the lovers stones effects by sleeping with your spouse and it stacks with the guardian stones. Whereas Lovers stone and lovers comfort does not, it doesn’t even stack with the well rested bonus
I dont forget about the standing stones... I choose a class stone at the beginning of the game then forget about it and question why my skills are leveling up so slow when I start branching out to max out all my skills.
Good video. Me, i always put the Lord stone as the best.
Btw The lover stone have a downside: It disable the Rested Effect
@@El_Gato_The_Goat When i train a skill, i will use it. I know it's not a big downside.
@@El_Gato_The_Goat Yeah, they already have no rested effect so it's the perfect stone for them!
The steed stone is amazing for me because I use deadric armor and often find my inventory overencumbered
It’s a good day when he uploads
After seeing a bunch of Fudgemuppets videos it feels weird seeing the Atronach stone so low.
What about the pillars in solthstiem, they're like standing stones
But you always have to go back to them
You can use all of them at the same time.
Atronach Stone is the obvious choice for mid to high-levelled characters. Stone + perk + Miraak's set = 100% magic absorption (which means you're completely immune to all magic, poison, and disease while also being hit by magic attacks is like free magicka recharge)
the lover stone does have a downside you can't get any rested bonuses with it active
The serpent Stone to farm gold and 100 smithing at the beginning of the game.
The Ritual Stone is great for the Atherial Crown.
BRUH I FULLY expected a segway into an ad read @1:41 😄😄😄😄
I’ve always gone steed stone for heavy armor builds, means I can sprint like the wind with the weight of a freight train
Honestly, the steed should be higher because even later on it's still helpful because it muffles your armor too
That's when you choose the aetherial crown and go with Warrior, mage or asasins stone and the lover stone
As a hoarder who has trouble leaving ANY loot behind I can't not choose the Steed Stone every time
In my last run I got the Aetherium Crown early and got steed and lovers stone, was pretty dope.
I'm standing stoned
from best to worst (I usually make breton mages/battlemages)
1- Lord stone
2- Attronach (can be a best, like lord stone)
3- Steed
4- invis stone
5- Ritual
6- Paralyze
7- Lady
8- Apprentice
9- Tower (srsly trash, u can open max lvl chests with 15 lockpicking)
the ones to improve skills I only use when crafting, and combo it with well rested to save myself some time. Cool video, I disagree on the fist places but thats it
I choose the Serpent, not because of the lore nor the ability, but because it is a birthsign and I simply chose it in all TES games, granted in TES 5 you can swap them.
ritual stone is op, kill someone, use the stone, kill more people, wait 24h and use it again, in not a lot of time you have a whole undead army. they dont even turn to ash after 60 seconds. also use the aetherial crown and you can resurrect them without waiting a whole day
I’ve never even heard of the tower stone in my years of playing this fucking game
Personally I love the Atronach Stone/Breton race combo for a witch hunter (or spellsword) extraordinare.
Another ranking idea, different gods blessings.
The first thing I do with a new character is to take a carriage ride to Markarth and get the lover stone :D
Is Deja Vu hitting me like a freight train or didn't he already do this video before.
Steed stone is goated on legendary survival mode, extra carry weight doesn't hurt and zero armor weight makes the choice between heavy and light armor dummy easy
The tower stone has many hidden downsides
1) you don't get XP for picking locks
2) you don't level up lockpicking
... dude that's one downside :D
I can't wait till the next stream
i honestly think the atronach is the best because it is the only way to become immune to magic as resistance is capped at about 80% i think.
That’s dope, that dope…. That’s not dope lol I like this guy “boo boo” 😂
My go to is the lover stone for the leveling up
Oooh but sir the serpent stone is THE best tool for abusing the leveling system, although it relies on using a glitch.
My favorite standing stone is the lord stone:) incredibly useful on legendary difficulty survival mode:)
4:11 The Atronach stone should be lower cause of that stupid bug which makes you absorb your own conjuration spells 50% of the time
Me who uses andromeda…
“Yep, I totally understand” Lmao
Certain stones are good for builds like the serpent stone can be used with a warrior build who doesn’t use magic. I never liked magic so the serpent stone is useful for a warrior build.
Invisibility is also an illusion spell
whats the backpack mod you are using????
Stead is best for increased movement, carry capacity, and other horse aspects. ;)
I pretty much agree.
yeah warrior/mage/thief stone is good because is helps u leveling ur
*STEALTH ARCHER* a lot.
Lord Stone is good on legendary difficulty mid Game after you leveled your Main damage trees to about 60.
I don't like the exp stones. They are just boring, they add nothing distinct to the game. Also since the game levels with you leveling faster doesnt really do anything. I only use them when I want to level something specific fast like smithing or alchemy but otherwise never.
I like getting my weapon skill to level 50 as soon as possible so I can decapitate my enemies. Other than that, I see your view.
I agree they are kind of dull and only really good at the start of the game. By the time I enter midgame I've usually swapped them out for the Lord or Atronach stone.
You've clearly never tried playing a Mage like normal person would but without the Mage and or Lover Stone then.
Have you done a vampire are the worst to best or which missions are great worse to best I say main mission and a few dlcs dawn guard and Dragonborn for their main quest you can do side quest as another story and out it into parts
A suggestion of an easier ranking if you’re running out of ideas is your top 10 (or whatever number you want) of Skyrim’s best mods🤷🏼♂️
