I want to make a choice between the Canon PowerShot G9 X Mark II and this camera? On the Canon, the sensor is relatively larger, but the screen is fixed and the zoom is "limited". Do you have any advice or suggestions for choosing between the two, it's especially for taking pretty pictures (in the street, day and night, during a trip ..)

The TZ100 is my go to compact and excellent and have been using it for a few years as my portable camera when not lugging the dslr around . This new camera looks like it sets the bar higher with some new ideas incorporated, looking forward to compare

hi mate, do you know if this camera functions whilst plugged into a camera bank? i know some cameras will only charge. i ask as im interested in using it for timelapse.. which also leads me into asking if thers an intervalometer setting? or remote port? thanks!

Thanks for the review, you mentioned that the camera has inbuilt GPS but now over 12 months later since your review the spec sheet is saying no GPS, did you make a mistake or do you know if it's been removed .

Hi Laurence, the battery is removable so spares can be bought if you're travelling without access to a charger etc

Hi I'm interested in the Panasonic tz95 in silver. Are the silver dials etc and silver top panel plastic or metal. As think the silver paint will wear off on plastic thanks

Between those two, I'd pick the Panasonic. For Sony point and shoots, I'd go directly to their RX100 series.

Hi Jose, the new viewfinder appeared very clear and sharp. It is apparent you are looking at an electronic monitor but with very little lag.

Thanks for the review. The auto focus while you are walking is awful. Is there a mic input?

Hi Peter, the focusing did struggle a little being that close to my face while walking along - though looking more straight onto the camera did help a lot. There is no mic input on the TZ95 hence the audio played back from the internal mics - it was a nasty day for testing built-in mics as the gusts of wind were rather strong.

Thanks for the response. I understand that these point and shoot cameras even though quite sophisticated are for the average consumer but sure wish they would include a mic input. I think it would open up a whole other market for them.

auto focus is never good in panasonic cameras. this is why i am compelled to buy an equivalent of sony camera (Hx99). sony has the best auto focus in the market.
