This sounds as good today as it did 50+ years ago when I first heard it. The guys in the dorm room next to me had a real stereo; a rarity in those days. This whole album just blew my mind. They're on my Mt. Rushmore with the Beatles, Allman Brothers, and The Band.
So glad you hit the studio cut, as that Live performance doesn't even get the intro right. Such a groove, and it was used in one of the best film soundtracks of all time - The Big Chill (Columbia Pictures, 1983). I love this song, it is a classic! It was written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards (lead guitarist)! This song has been everywhere and remade so many times! It’s iconic! ❤️❤️
For me, Beatles, Stones, Hendrix, Zeppelin, Floyd, the Who and Black Sabbath all deserve to be in the top 5 but I need all 7. Any reactor that takes on those catalogs is in for quite a treat...
This song is the greatest tease. All the way through it has a lurching syncopation like it's on a leash, can't get free, until the very end when finally it breaks out into a 4/4 backbeat. And you get a few bars like that and then it fades out ... It's brilliant. I want it to sit on that end rhythm and give us a brilliant sax solo or something, like a kind of better-orchestrated Free Bird. But that's just me.
Lex is a delight, she gets straight into the groove and it's great to watch, she's a hippy chick (in the nicest possible way) just born in the wrong era. Glad that Brad didn't attempt to analyse the lyrics and just enjoyed the sound too.
Brad. It's ALL music. Lex sings, even when she talks. If you really listen to how the sounds, the words, come out of her mouth, her talking is a form of singing. Singing is just a different way of speaking sounds. So, in spite of your often lucid thoughts about a song, you are hearing crisp speaking, but with more sound added. What a beautiful and timeless song. I think you were both captivated by it. It's being put under a spell. All words are spell words. Spelling isn't called what it is, for nothing. Love you guys. Thank you.

This sounds as good today as it did 50+ years ago when I first heard it. The guys in the dorm room next to me had a real stereo; a rarity in those days. This whole album just blew my mind. They're on my Mt. Rushmore with the Beatles, Allman Brothers, and The Band.
That cosmic choir with that wicked jamming at the end, I can't think of a better outro for any song ever
"Dead Flowers" is one of the best country songs that wasn't really country. Check it out.
So misunderstood, probably from covers.. That song is the ultimate FU..
And I won’t forget to put roses on your grave..
Yup
Love this… as older i get, the more i like the Stones.
“Beast of Burden” & “Miss You” always leaves me in a good mood
The Stones wanted a choir for this song so they got the best one in England to do the vocals for this song and it really makes it special.
There's nothing like seeing this performed live in front of 70 or 80 thousand people. A lifetime of memories in that moment.
Isn't music from the 60s ,70s ,80s just the best .It will live forever ,Long live rock !! 🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
MASTERPIECE! no other word for it.
Love this song .. one of the best Rolling Stones songs of all time 🔥
So glad you hit the studio cut, as that Live performance doesn't even get the intro right. Such a groove, and it was used in one of the best film soundtracks of all time - The Big Chill (Columbia Pictures, 1983). I seriously recommend you watch that movie for not only the outstanding story, cast and soundtrack, but also to give you some perspective (a bunch of college friends reunite 10 years later for a funeral, and hash things out over one weekend).
The French horn right after the choir finishes singing at the beginning always sounds to me like sunrise. Like the sun coming up over a countryside.
When my kids were small and we were out somewhere and they got into the buy me this or buy me that demands I would always say remember what the Rolling Stones said. You can’t always get what you want. By the time they were 10 they wanted to hear this song. Their introduction to the Rolling Stones
You two are funny to watch each day. Brad Listens closely with a blank stare while Lex Rocks Out smiling and laughing.
So true!!
Lex is really getting into it, and Brad is like "What in the world am I listening to?"
👍
To be fair to Brad, I think he internalizes the music, and is processing it.
Lex just immediately feels it.
Love his reaction to Lex groovin' out.
God Bless you both for mentioning Karaoke butchering songs.
@@TheVoxbox13 True.
Charlie Watts, gee wiz his drums make the an important demonstration of this rock band music will never die. RIP Charlie.
Problem is that Jimmy Miller was the drummer here.
@@derekcabanaw1789 wow! That is good catch.
The Stones are a great band, during the 60s and 70s they were creative AF.
Definitely top 5,,,,💥💥💥👍😎
Rivals to the Beatles and the Who and Led Zep
The stones are what rock n roll is all about . top three, stones , zeppelin and sabbath..🤘🏻
And that is why they're the greatest rock and roll band in the world
One side of that couch really knows how to rock! 💃🙂
Lyrics of my life. My favorite Stones song.
Great song 🎵 I line with mr.jimmy !
The contrast between Brad and Lex is great! She's all digging it and grooving and in the moment and meanwhile, he's all analytical and thinking about every lyric, etc. Youse guys definitely balance each other out!
took my then 15 yr old son to see them for his first ever Rock concert!! he's totally into techno, but by halfway through the first song he was totally rocking out!! 🙂
Jick Magger …. and The Strolling Bones ….. THE GREATEST ROCK N ROLL BAND IN THE WORLD …..
went to see them last month in Liverpool …. Absolutely amazing ….
It's hard to say I love one Stones song more than another,Same can be said about there fellow country men LZ and the Beatles, Floyd. This song means so much even in the English Understanding of the title. You can't always get what you want.I have used this line literally hundreds of times when surrender is required in a many different situations.Just for that reason alone the song might be my favorite.I grew old with this knowledge
I literally just heard this song a month ago......................I have no idea how many times I've bumped this sht😂😂😂😂🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️"You can't always get what you want"
Love her smile.
Lovely reaction to watch. This song meant a lot to me as I was a teenager on a boat returning home to rainy England from sunny Singapore when I heard it. It makes me cry because for me it is about loss of friends and frustration.
always loved this song. made me feel ok especially when i was down and out. and it is true you often end up getting what you need. smiles and love to you both
I love this song, it is a classic! It was written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards (lead guitarist)! This song has been everywhere and remade so many times! It’s iconic! ❤️❤️
I saw "The Stones" live twice.... 25 years apart. Just as excellent show as they always are. Legendary.
"AWESOME"
I saw them back in the 1990s. Amazing show!
Greatest band ever!
My favorite Stones song! I love the choir, the instrumentation, and the way the intensity builds over the course of the song.
I'll choose The Stones over The Beatles anyday. Just saying.
sending love from Oregon 🌲🌊
Very hard to argue that really hard actually.
For me it’s The Beatles, Stones and Sabbath. But man it can go either way!
I grew up with the Stones and Beatles rivalry, I chose the Rolling Stones because of Keith. He was the coolest.
For me, Beatles, Stones, Hendrix, Zeppelin, Floyd, the Who and Black Sabbath all deserve to be in the top 5 but I need all 7. Any reactor that takes on those catalogs is in for quite a treat...
Don't forget Heart... those ladies kicked ass
It's nice to watch lex is discovering this
We did have great songs didn't we?
55 years on and a whole new generation digs it
My favourite "Stones" song. It never gets old.
Such an outrageous chance to put a boy's choir at the beginning of a rock song! One of my all time faves
I was a wild ass teenager when this came out, I miss those days and a lot of my friends now days. Thanks In Texas, 66 yrs. 🇺🇸⚓️😉
I suggest Ruby Tuesday for your next Stones reaction. It's a really cool song that hasn't been reacted to much.
It's a beautiful tune during the Stones’ Baroque Pop phase. I love the whole album Between the Buttons (1967).
That’s a good song. One of my personal favorites is As Tears Go By.
Stones do brilliant music, check out early little red rooster.. Real blues
Greatest Rock n Roll band ever.🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Sorry but I'll give that honor to Pink Floyd, Rush and Led Zeppelin.
🇺🇸👍😁✌️🇺🇸
Lex is a delight, she gets straight into the groove and it's great to watch, she's a hippy chick (in the nicest possible way) just born in the wrong era. Glad that Brad didn't attempt to analyse the lyrics and just enjoyed the sound too.
Rolling Stones, Best ever you should watch them still rock at almost 80, there shows were so still full of energy.. lovelovelove ❤️😘😍
Love your reactions and love this song.
Now this is a song can listen over and over.
Love watching the channel! I love it when Brad gets excited! Lol The Stones are legend for a reason!! Many great songs! Have a nice day!🤠😍😍😎
Love this as much as I did the first time I heard it and never ever get tired of it. Incredible song 😍
I watch for Lex. She reacts to the music on a visceral level, and that is where Rock lives.
Thank you.
That’s the genius of the Stones in the late 60’s early 70’s
They absolutely defined low down and dirty rock
Just another great example of the great range the Stones have.
Legend has it that the "Mr. Jimmy" who is trying to get his "prescription filled" at the "Chelsea drug store" is the great Jimi Hendrix.
And man did he look pretty ill🤢.
😀✌️
@@Chris_34 Imagine what music he would have composed had he lived on.
@@johnmboon Totally. I feel the same way about another member of the 27 club, Kurt Cobain.
It's Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin.
Only the finest , talent ,money and genius production all came together to create this great .
Some iconic lyrics from The Rolling Stones!
Masterpiece
Love the smile on ur girls face when she is digging the music 😉👍
Lexs' reaction to this is priceless! That's exactly what being absorbed in a song looks like!
Four to check out.
1. Shattered
2. Respectable
3. 2000 Light Years From Home
4. Mother's Little Helper.
Great job again on the reaction.
They already reacted to Shattered and 2000 light years
'when the whip comes down'
Lex knows her shit.. I'm an old man who lives music, and I enjoy you both..
I remember seeing the stones Steelweels tour they opened with this song and the whole stadium went nuts!
To add the Vienna Boys Choir young voices to set the table for the song is my favorite part.
You have some very original ways of groovin' along to the song Lex 🤗
And its good to see you're really feeling the music Brad 👍
