Thanks For Watching!
Look, it was a long journey and I got hungry okay? Anyway, who liked that opener?
The opener was pretty impressive. It's something out of the box for you on here.
Brilliant
@Skkratch Sam has amazing playlists on here all about that. Check out his whole channel !
Could you make another vid like that on davinci resolve plz?
@Skkratch What are you using? a Macbook , Chromebook or a PC ?
that…. sandwich was quite an “out of the box” idea…
I’ve been considering making the switch to Final Cut so this video could not have come at a better time. That intro though. So well done. Loved it!
I literally only started to learn and use keyboard shortcuts in my last video and honestly it is so much better. Just chopping up the video makes it so much faster
What an intro! Super awesome dude love the creativity!!
Great acting, insane job on the coloring, sound design 👏 and that new intro to finish it off? Absolute world class!
I haven’t created in months.. just been in my own way.. this intro( the the rest of the video) was so cool.. it’s made we want to make something awesome again. Thanks Sam!
Yoooo, the colour correction one is super helpful!! Thanks dude
THAT INTRO IS SOMETHING ELSE
I actually never thought about getting a stream deck for editing🤔
That save current frame shortcut was very needed as I always come across a frame I want for thumbnail use, same with default presets!! Thank you for the new tips and knowledge!
Loved the intro Sam. I don't use Final Cut pro myself, but watch every single video you make based off the incredible production quality you always produce. Keep it up!
That thumbnail is chef’s kiss my man!
Useful fcp tips
Nice opening sequence
Smart collections
Short cuts
beautifully shot and a lot of great info. I tripped out a bit when the opening concluded and the sponsor came up in the middle..
Love that intro, great work on the video! So helpful
This idea came out sooooo great!
The Intro was amazing, the music and video fit so well and were perfectly timed! I love the creativity in this. (FYI, this is LittlePenguin)
loved the opener and love the tips! can't wait to set up my streamdeck for fcp
Super helpful. Thank You
I don’t even use Final Cut Pro or even read the title until I clicked the video all because of that thumbnail 🔥
Now this is amazing
That intro was awesome, Sam! Nice work.
FYI, you mentioned you added a link to post haste in the description, but I'm not seein it. :-P
There now!
Awesome!
Well done sir. Well done
I'm so grateful you make FCPX videos! I appreciate and try to learn from every one of them!
One thing I've always been curious of your editing style is how you accomplish those smooth ease zooms / pan zooms with that I can only think of as Bezier keyframes. How are you able to accomplish those animated keyframes in FCPX? Or do you use Motion or a different editor for those?
I'm aware of that handle that's available for "smooth" animations when animating position keyframes, but I find that my animations end up too fast/slow/abrupt/etc and can never seem to master that function. I've also been unsuccessful in applying that to scale animation.. just curious how you personally accomplish that if doing it in FCPX!
I appreciate all the hard work you put into your videos and how much you try to teach people what you're passionate about!
I use a fantastic plugin called AddMotion. Highly recommend it. I’ll be working on a video on my top plug-ins for FCPX soon to answer these questions.
@@SamWoodhall Man, I very much look forward to that video! Thanks for the plugin name too! That very well might be a game changer for me! You're the man!
Feels like a real movie 🍿
Nathan Drake stole my Sam
That bit was as beautiful as I dreamt it would be 😍
amazing intro! :)
What’s the music at the start we’re u talk (the trumpet one )
Fun intro ! keep up the great job :) !
Any chance to get that same kind for Resolve ? 😀
I won't be making more Resolve content any time soon. Sticking to my guns and doing what I think is better.
Hi Sam, thanks for the video! What’s the correct way to handle overlaying facecam video on gameplay footage in Final Cut Pro? I want to keep them in sync, trim both at the same time, hide the facecam in parts, move the facecam around and punch in throughout a video. Is this just much more fiddly and soul destroying in FCP than in a traditional track-based NLE? Or am I doing something wrong? Compound clips solve half these problems but seem to make doing the other half impossible. Thanks for the content :)
There’s a couple of ways you can do it. You can create a sync clip of both the face cam and your gameplay. Open the clip by selecting the clip and going to the modify menu and select “open clip”. From there you can tweak your face cam into a position and style you like.
Another way would be using compound clips instead. Or laying both clips on top of each other and then editing manually that way.
Let me know if those suggestions help.
@@SamWoodhall Thanks for this Sam, I’ll give sync clips a try. When manually editing with both clips on top of each other, how do I trim, ripple etc both layers at once? Everyone on the internet says that I’m an idiot for trying and that I just don’t “get” FCP 🤣
The camera stand as the walking stick 😂
Great video Sam! I'm a FCP user, but lately I've been using Davinci Resolve. I find that some shorts cuts are a little similar than FCP. But on all of your videos I see that you use FCP to edit your videos instead of other programs. Why is that? Just curious.
Because I prefer Final Cut Pro?
Love the intro!!
Epic
Did it boss
Is that a Peter McKinnon bag I’m peeping
Maybeeeeee
@@SamWoodhall next to the camera itself probably my favorite camera related purchase
Anyone else get the Final Cut Pro ad while watching this video?
