    I'm so grateful you make FCPX videos! I appreciate and try to learn from every one of them!
    One thing I've always been curious of your editing style is how you accomplish those smooth ease zooms / pan zooms with that I can only think of as Bezier keyframes. How are you able to accomplish those animated keyframes in FCPX? Or do you use Motion or a different editor for those?
    I'm aware of that handle that's available for "smooth" animations when animating position keyframes, but I find that my animations end up too fast/slow/abrupt/etc and can never seem to master that function. I've also been unsuccessful in applying that to scale animation.. just curious how you personally accomplish that if doing it in FCPX!
    I appreciate all the hard work you put into your videos and how much you try to teach people what you're passionate about!

    • @SamWoodhall
      @SamWoodhall  3 роки тому +1

      I use a fantastic plugin called AddMotion. Highly recommend it. I’ll be working on a video on my top plug-ins for FCPX soon to answer these questions.

    Hi Sam, thanks for the video! What’s the correct way to handle overlaying facecam video on gameplay footage in Final Cut Pro? I want to keep them in sync, trim both at the same time, hide the facecam in parts, move the facecam around and punch in throughout a video. Is this just much more fiddly and soul destroying in FCP than in a traditional track-based NLE? Or am I doing something wrong? Compound clips solve half these problems but seem to make doing the other half impossible. Thanks for the content :)

    • @SamWoodhall
      @SamWoodhall  3 роки тому +1

      There’s a couple of ways you can do it. You can create a sync clip of both the face cam and your gameplay. Open the clip by selecting the clip and going to the modify menu and select “open clip”. From there you can tweak your face cam into a position and style you like.
      Another way would be using compound clips instead. Or laying both clips on top of each other and then editing manually that way.
      Let me know if those suggestions help.

    • @harryw9268
      @harryw9268 2 роки тому

      @@SamWoodhall Thanks for this Sam, I’ll give sync clips a try. When manually editing with both clips on top of each other, how do I trim, ripple etc both layers at once? Everyone on the internet says that I’m an idiot for trying and that I just don’t “get” FCP 🤣

    Great video Sam! I'm a FCP user, but lately I've been using Davinci Resolve. I find that some shorts cuts are a little similar than FCP. But on all of your videos I see that you use FCP to edit your videos instead of other programs. Why is that? Just curious.
