Lou's window was 1976 to 1983.... he would have won 3 Mr. Os or more if you take into account the competition . 1983 Lou was his best shape in my opinion
That 1982 title was his for the taking easily. He was filming Hercules in 1982, and if you see the film, he is literally just one contest prep away from stepping on stage and destroying Chris Dickerson.
That's one of the good things about the juice if you really know what're you doing, and I think Lou Ferrigno kept his size almost the same if it's not better, he's one of those people that are gifted structurally, but the art of this game and those people's enthusiasm will determine how far they will go and wear the crown
With the 90s drug regimen, his waist grew but not his arms like you said. So the actual arm/waist size ratio is actually lower in the 90s. A small waist makes every thing look bigger and it shows here. There's no contest here: ua-cam.com/video/p4JujICiM-o/v-deo.html§ In the 70s, they clearly had the recipe for aesthetics, he looks damn good. I'm not using steroids but I'd still love to know what those guys were taking at that time. In 75, he kinda missed his preparation. In 1973 he was super ripped (but younger and smaller). His bone structure was awesome, even better than arnold's I would say.
Lou was the first mass monster in bodybuilding. He's the reason why I started bodybuilding. I went to see pumping iron when it first came out. Ever since I saw Arnold, and Lou, right there and then I got into body building
haha, for me 70's all the way! I remember I had a friend that loved absolutely loved Lu in the Hercules movie, he would always comment on how big and ripped Lu was in that movie... lol....
It's amazing this man DWARFED DORIAN YATES IN 90'S But amazing peak was 80's Lou was crafted by the gods. How can one not be in awe of Hercules ..must be the beard.
I heard Chris aceto say the most impressive bodybuilder he'd ever seen was Lou just before the Olympia at 320. Said he didn't know what had happened between when he saw him and day of show
Lou is one of my favourites looks so thick in certain poses I just don't know why he had his fists pointing forward in the front double bi he had excellent arms really thick heavy chest good abs I do prefer the 70s shots ,, all body builders will tell you after years of heavy squatting your waist will thicken, in the 70s Lou had a really taught waist with good abs plus he was 6ft 4 - 5 I honestly believe if Lou had carried on he would of won the title for sure
I think Lou had better arms in the 70’s and 80’s. He was definitely better conditioned in the 90’s. I think if the 80’s Lou did bodybuilding he would’ve won, but people forget there really wasn’t any money in bodybuilding back when Lou started. The poor guy got kicked out on the street by his dad, with no money to speak of. He made the right choice in acting. I’m hopeful Cbum pulls an Arnold/Lou.
“Wasted potential?” The dude made a mint in TV and movies and never had to work again. Bodybuilding was a sideshow where you couldn’t make a dime. So much smarter to go to Hollywood.
Lou Ferrigno is a living legend! Many have commented that on a muscular level he has lost everything ....... but in reality Lou has thought about his health and to live a long time! He looks 20 years younger than his age, he has a muscular appearance, but like a bodybuilder who has distanced himself from certain substances. He is no longer competing, his health is not worth risking. Many have died and continue to die from the continuous abuse of performance-enhancing drugs. Lou was great. Arnold when he returned to Olympia just 5 years after his retirement, he was far from the form he had when he was king. Oliva returned in two editions of Olympia in the mid 80s. He too was a shadow of the myth that he was. Lou instead returned to Olympia 20 years after his retirement !!!!! On the contrary, his physique was more massive, more defined, with much better legs than when he was competing against Arnold !!!! It doesn't matter where he is placed. His muscle mass on stage even overshadowed Dorian Yates. If Lou had competed in the early 80's, with the form he had in Luigi Cozzi's two Hercules, he would have won Olympia. In those two films he was fantastic.
True agree with u Lou did not use steroids and stupid medications like nowadays competitors in his 70 s he looks in 50 s while Ronnie coleman cant walk normally and have had several operations to at least live semi normal life
@@dodddddds Yes you are right. If you look at Lou instead, he's much smaller than he was then, but today he's fit, slim and looks younger than his real age.
@@davideterminator75 yes I watched an interview with him he mentioned he never had streoids to enlarge his mass and we can believe him due to the fact that he enjoys a good helath and look Im not against body building but nowdays lot of young people suffer because they want within months to be a super men and trust me when there is streoids involved the muscles look fake Look at Arnold or steve reeves or Reg park they look natural and all of them lived long which is an evidence that they practiced natural work out dependant on nutrition and training only I challenge any of those body builders to look in 40s like Lou when he came back to competition at 43
@@dodddddds WELL do not believe that they are natural, on the contrary! Arnold, Lou used steroids all right. But unlike today's bodybuilders, they went long offseasons STEROID-FREE back then. While today they use them all year round, at much higher dosages, adding GH, insulin, synthol...etc....which Lou didn't do.
Mate just cause you got monetized your not gonna make any money lol my cousin does atleast a 1000 views on each video he has way more subs and views then you and guess what he barely makes 100 dollars a month UA-cam isnt what u think if u dont reach the 100 dollar threshold in a month u dont get paid u probably will make 100 bucks every 5 months maybe so dont get gassed up buddy
Lou was only 24 when he stopped competing at the O. He would have hit his peak early 80’s and won a few Olympias.
His 1980s body specially in Hercules was really wasted potential, that muscle maturity had finally set in
Yeah that's the look I prefer.
He was biggest in the 90’s but his best was probably the 80’s he just didn’t compete
Lou the monster. Seems like a genuine good guy.
80s is my favorite

3? i think he would've beaten Franco, Zane and Dickerson, i would say he would've had more than 5 sandows at least
Very nice and interesting video!Defenetely in the 90s was in his best shape.More quality.Less weak points.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣 man love your channels especially when you do impressions some of the celebs. 😂😂😂 u put me in stitches 😂😂😂😂😂

Hey Marx, how do you feel about 1980 Arnold vs any of the winning versions of Frank Zane 77 thru 79? Politics aside.... I wonder
thats funny i just posted a video for you.
Commenting and hitting a like for the algorithm. Gotta put this in the feed in 2022 for people to see.
This body and muscle maturity was prime in the 80's. Would easily have been a top 3 for the Olympia.
Best most-muscular shot ever!!!!!

The trunks in the 90s really expose his funky legs and structure.
his triceps got hurted early in his career. they melted.

He still is a Legend.
Lous upper body was huge in those eighties pics. I think it looked better than the 70s or 90s version.

Mr. Olympia 1992 He was ripped to shreds he should’ve placed better than 12 place
His 70's without doubt .

Cool
How this man was not awarded masters mrO I don’t get it. Robi robbed Louie.
he could have dominated the 80ies if he improved his posing and kept competing

He was best in the Hercules movie from 1985💪💪💪💪💪❤️
If Lou didn’t give up he would of finally got the win in the 80s at least 1 Mr O

'70s to early '80s for me.
The greatest most muscular pose belong to Sergio Oliva Arnold Schwarzenegger and Lou ferrigno!!!
He got his genetics straight from Zuess himself.
80,s
And suddenly all gone or most of it!
Marx, Lou a nice? Just don’t ask him to take a picture, unless you’ve got a $100 to spare lol.
In 1980' era
You really think he is more famous than Zane or Ronnie? Not sure to be honest
Why were the chests thicker in the 1970s ?
I'm sure it's purely coincidence that none of the 3 photos display the non existent legs.
I prefer 70s
6:56 listen i love lou but the best ever most muscular HAS TO GO TO MARKUS RUHL THE GOAT !!!! 🐐
He shouldn't lean back, he gets wrinkles in his back. Also he wants more weight, he gonna bieet him!
He should have taken over after arnold all the way they to compete with Lee Haney.. what a waste.
