Underrated video!
I knew Wednesday was Odin because the word Thursday is “Thor’s Day” and Wednesday is “Odin’s Day”. I did not see that Shadow was actually Baldur until Loki’s line about the mistletoe to the eye when he’s talking to Laura (mistletoe is Baldur’s only weakness cause he can’t feel anything) hence Laura saying Shadow isn’t really alive. Cause he’s numb. Ugh I love this book so much. Though the were some things I could have done without ie what the guard asks Shadow in the beginning and what happened to the Native American in the beginning as well. But all in all loved the cleverness in this book and it was a fun ride. I’m waiting for the sequel to come in the mail now

You did a good job one of the best I seen...
Just finished reading the book and I agree with a lot of your points, specially shadow sweetness. But I would like to say that I dont think sam is bi, but that she is a lesbian. When she kisses shadows she says how he " kiss good for a boy" and when shadow goes to madisson to give her flowers and sees her with her current crush Natalie he thinks about how their kiss was actually a good kiss "but she will never look at me [shadow] the way she looks at her pontytail friend". I also LOVED the new gods, specially when theres the media tv god and she talks about how we dedicate our time and sometimes ourselves to her, that hit me. Hard. I loved the transformation of things we worship withouth even noticing into gods, its absolutely true and a great message about consumerism and usage of media. I wouldnt give the book 5 stars just because the rythm is so slooow, but overall i LOVED the plot twists (specially cause i liked wednesday from the start and ended up hating him), I loved how shadow was loyal but yet knew that regardless of sides the war was wrong. Great book and awesome video! Congrats on your first review. It was awesome

Hey I just discovered this after finishing the book this morning and I really enjoyed the review, my own personal theory is that shadows mom left the original Odin's country where she was impregnated by him and the skeevy memories of that Odin created the Wednesday that we see in the book. Though that might contradict the Viking scene towards the beginning. Also the moon face man that Essie meets is mad Sweeney

There is a 3rd dimension to Americanization and it is the commodification of everything, thus the cheapening of everything.
Very good review and summary. After the end of season 3 I was looking for a proper video to guide me through the scenario and explain some details. You did a pretty good job with. Consider doing a video about where the series is heading and how it approaches things in contrast to the book. Since season 3 just ended people are going to be looking for such topics, might give you a well deserved boost.

No, Wednesday is not americanised in the sense that he is a con man. He is literally depicted as a trickster and wise and cunning God in Norse mythology. Some might confuse that with Loke but the fact of the matter is, they all used trickery.
I know it is waaaaay late, but I see Illuminae up there, I wonder, did you read Gemina and Obsidio? In Gemina Ella Malikova's computer program is called Anansi. She's the "little spider" inside of Anansi. Interesting link there, with the books you're showing at the moment. I'm still subbing, even if you haven't had content in 9 months. Hope you come back! season 3 was 2020, your video is 2017, when you say spoilers i amused i already watch it , but that being said loki is not related to odin in any way other than there both gods its only the modern views that make them related
Wednesday is Odin odin is Wednesday that is odins day america just calls it Wednesday thats just its translation on the day , nothing american about it just english,
Wednesday did say he can not leave america so when you say he is not the true odin well that still holds water
now i seen your video wondering if anyone else thinks world is loki now i wonder did you figure that out our did the book tell you that?
