"Why would you leave your gun out there?" The question everyone asks, and which I always feel compelled to explain, because it is definitely confusing the first time you see this. The gun isn't Vincent's. The gun is Marcellus's. Marcellus and Vincent were at Butch's apartment waiting for him or searching the place. Marcellus went out to get them breakfast, which is why Butch runs across him moments later, crossing the street while holding donuts and drinks. Since Marcellus was going to the store, he couldn't very well carry a machine gun in with him, so he left his big gun at the apartment but kept his hand gun on him, hidden under his suit jacket. Vincent stayed behind, but since he's a heroine addict and has bowel problems as a result, he had to hit the bathroom yet again, leaving the apartment unguarded for a few minutes. When someone came in while he was in the bathroom, and he no doubt heard them moving around in the kitchen a few yards away, he figured it was just his boss returned from the store, not Butch returned and making himself some Pop Tarts. Should he have grabbed the gun and brought it with him into the bathroom? Probably, but let's be honest, Vincent wasn't exactly the brightest bulb in the batch.
I just think Vincent is messing up because he is taking heroine. And also by that point he has lost his partner but has forgotten that dangerous situations need two people.
TRIVIA: When Tarantino was still working on this script and thinking about who should play the parts he thought of Travolta for the part of Vincent. Tarantino really didn't have a lot of money at the time despite his prior success with selling the "True Romance" screen play and his film "Reservoir Dogs". So he was living in a small apartment in LA. He called Travolta and asked if he would come to his place and talk about possibly being in the movie. When Travolta got there he realized it was the exact same apartment he lived in back in the 70's when he first moved to LA. Weird.
Also, for the role of Vincent, Tarantino wanted the actor Micheal Madsen to do it. However, Michael Madsen was committed to be in the movie Wyatt Earp with Kevin Costner at the same time so he couldn't do Pulp Fiction. So Tarantino went to Travolta which restarted his career to A List status again. Such a great movie!
@@nyronfranklin5789 Yeah and i cant picture Willis giving Jackson's pre murder sermon. The roles were filled perfectly the chemistry was there. When Willis and Travolta were sharing scenes it felt uncomfortably awkward even tho they were meant to clash.

Not knowing what’s in the briefcase is such a fun storytelling device. Some theories say that it’s Marcellus’ soul (and the bandaid on the back of his head is when he got it extracted), but in the end, it doesn’t matter, all we know is that it’s super important.
I read an interview a few years ago with Samuel Jackson, and he said that inside the briefcase was just an incandescent light bulb, some wire, and a battery pack. That's it. No gold, no soul, just that. Now we all know.
@@dunhill1 Well, the mess in the back of the car wasn't really brains and blood either you know. And they didn't actually do anything dirty to Marcellus in that backroom, they were just pretending for the audience.

22:33 Goes back to the old saying "I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy". He knew he had a chance to leave, and you even see the Tennessee license plate on the wall behind him at the door, but he chose the honorable path, which is also why he ultimately chose the katana sword, the weapon wielded by the Samurai who lived by a code of honor. Though Butch was far from a Samurai, he was more akin to a thief, which goes back to another saying "Honor among thieves". As perverse as this scene is, it's also very deep and philosophical, as is the rest of the film.

We’ve thought about doing some live streams either here or eventually on twitch. Mostly stuff he’s seen but we’d love to figure out how to watch along and chat with people occasionally for sure.
Lol like Blank said we working on that
Pulp Fiction, The Matrix & Fight Club are three amazing movies that after you see them for the first time, there is always so much to talk about.
Great reaction! Particularly to the Marcellus-Butch "situation" LOL
I knew going into the edit it was gonna be hilarious.
@@EOMReacts That whole "The Gimp" sequence freaked me out when I first watched it - so much so that on subsequent rewatches, I'd skip past it. Then I grew up and I don't do that anymore :)
Another theory is that it was an Oscar award that Quentin hoped to win for the movie.
Apparently, it was supposed to be diamonds, but Reservoir Dogs had been about a diamond heist so he wanted something else and then realized that it was just a MacGuffin anyway; the only important thing was the role it played in the story so he decided to keep it mysterious.
@@Moroklumpen Not exactly true Brother; I read a Rolling Stone interview with Samuel and he clearly stated that it was simply a light bulb, some wire, and a battery pack--that's it. Nothing mysterious or mystical. BTW, not sure what a MacMuffin has to do with it. Cheers
Bro you got me rolling. “Dogs are precious, we don’t deserve them”. 🤣 you wild about them dogs
Lol they my babies. Glad you enjoyed the video
Amen. I used to breed American bulldogs until one litter had 5 deaf ones out of 12. I now have 13 American Bulldogs and although they're all assholes, I love them. My food costs are nuts, but they're mine. On the plus side, if anyone ever tried to come on my property with bad intentions, they'd have to use DNA to identify the remains.
@@smellygoatacres 🤣🤣🤣 I swear American Bulldogs are assholes but they are so loving. I will tell Drogo to do something and he will back talk and argue with me. Then when he think he in trouble he will come over there and hug on me. And I feel you pain with the food cost bc he’s never met a meal he didn’t like. Drogo is the biggest, I will protect you, piss you off and cuddle you for 23 hours out the day dog I have ever had lol
“I be ready to drop a deuce and take a shoot. Bloop bloop,”
God damn you’re funny as hell.
This was a great reaction, thank you, but I just couldn’t get over how adorable your pooches were! 😄
Lol they the real stars and thank you for showing my babies some love
Vince about to end up on a T shirt. LOL!
Lol he ended up on one just later on in the movie
“Can you quote the Bible when you shooting them?”… I’m dead. I had to pause the video. Haha, not a bad question.
Lol glad you enjoyed it
Mr. Jay!! Found you a few days ago, and you been hitting all of the right movies in your catalog. I am enjoying all of your choices so far. Thank you!!
Thank you and I’m glad you’re enjoying the videos. Blank (the editor) is the person who pick out the movies. He’s legit seen everything lol
@@J_EOMReacts Blank must be as old as I am then. Haha
Great film!
I love your reaction when Vincent says about having mayonnaise on fries, "That sounds nasty AF".
You make me laugh out loud, mate!! Your comments on the watch were hilarious. When you said to your dog, "You wanna hear a story about a watch?" 😆😆😆🤣🤣😂😂 "No, the watch went through a lot." and, "Fuck that watch."
(BTW, love how you bleep out your mouth when you swear with Jules's "Bad Mother Fuck" wallet.)
Love ur dog, you can always tell a happy dog when you see it lay on it's back legs in the air without a care 👍
I love watching them sleep like that especially when their legs start kicking when they dream
@@J_EOMReacts you got that right 👌
22:33 Goes back to the old saying "I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy".
I'm really enjoying your reactions and your adorable co-pilots.
You seem like gentle soul with a good sense of humour, subscribed.
I'm looking forward to seeing what else you dig up to watch, big love from England :)
Welcome the the family!
And he's the same person off camera as on. Just glad it shows on the videos cause that's who he is. LoL
The sword Bruce Willis uses to save what's left of Mareclus Wallace's ass is a Hanzo and it's with a Hanzo that Uma Thurman/Bride uses during Kill Bill to carry out her revenge
I remember how trippy this movie was the first time I saw it. Excellent and entertaining reaction again, especially the watch, which went through a lot, and the pawn shop scene. Excellent editing, I'm glad you included J dancing in the opening credits. God bless you guys with excellence!!
Christopher Waken gives the greatest motivation monologue ever in “Pool Hall Junkies”
14:50 I love that your pup only got concerned when you started talking about the needle.
They always check on him.
If you REALLY want to see them adorably concerned, be sure to check out JL’s reaction to The Mist.
They always checking on me. They are good boys
This is my second watch of this and I laughed just as hard the second time 🤣... When he shoots Marvin in the face I cannot stop laughing and you trippin about Sam Jacksons hair 🤣
🤣🤣🤣 it was so nasty. Glad you enjoying it just as much on your rewatch
You and the Copilots deserve all the love you can handle and more!❤
Lol, your commentary :D Loved it!
I appreciate that and I’m glad you enjoyed the video
Trivia time! Popular theory is that Jules did live and went on to "walk the earth" and is the musician in Kill Bill in the chapter "Massacre at Two Pines"
I have heard that the case contains Marcellus Wallace's soul. when your soul is taken, it is through the back of the head where it meets the neck. Marcellus has a Band-Aid in that very spot.
My dude this is my all time favorite. It starts in the middle and ends in the middle. Pretty much. The movie has so many NFW moments. Timeless
Hey J, thanks brother going through a bad unjustified breakup and just trying to nearly focus from day to day and let her go, researching these movies with you really cheered me up made me laugh and got my mind off the hurt, Thank you so much keep doing your thing your great👍👍👍😂
I’m glad I can help. I been in your place before and I know that feeling. I’m super happy I can help you during this
I'm loving your movie reactions. You remind me of a favorite uncle of mine that passed away a few years ago. You make me laugh.
I’m glad you been enjoying and I’m sorry about your uncle- J
bloop-bloop bloop-bloop haha best part. Subscribed
Lol glad you enjoyed the video and welcome to the family
John Travolta first danced in "Saturday Night Fever", and later in "Grease".
The guys at the apartment are eating burgers because the dude who got tossed off the balcony owned the joint. He got thrown off the balcony for stealing the briefcase and giving it to those guys. Tarantino also said that Butch is the one who keyed Vincent's car .
Love your personality. Love your dog. 💜🧡💙💚💛 Awesome movie reaction like always.
We love the support. Means a lot to hear.
Thank you I truly appreciate that and thank you for showing my babies some love
My favorite part of this movie (after watching it dozens of times and knowing the whole damn thing by heart) is The Wolf writing the notes. "One body" "No head". Also, notice that Vincent should never go to the can. When he does, weird/bad sh*t happens.
Lol every time he went it was some shit
I love it, too! It cracks me up. Both hilarious, and perfectly in line with his character. Efficient, not squeamish. I always thought that if I could only watch one movie for the rest of my life, it would be this.
@@veggiesarefruits Likewise!
@@rickwelch8464 hell yeah! I regularly put it on when I'm doing work around the house, then just run it back. 🤣
Your commentary is what makes this better. Like and subbed. Love from Colorado bruv! Gotta do more Tarantino movies!
Appreciate it, glad you enjoyed, and there’s a few more QT films on the way for sure!
Appreciate the love and welcome to the family.
Really enjoyed your reaction, man...& I've seen quite a few (lofl)! Also wanted to add another thumbs up for "True Romance", amazing for everything from script to directing to all-star cast to Howard Shore doing the music, too good baby! 👍
Much appreciated, and True Romance is 100% on the list and planned.
"I've been on the toilet, cocked and loaded" I'm dying 🤣
The mayonaise on fries is true. I'm Dutch. We love that and frown on ketchup. 😊
Lol that’s awesome
24:38 "I didn't like LA that much anyway"
I'm dead
In the book… the suggestion of what’s in the case is actually Marcellos Wallace’s soul. But that’s still hearsay.
if you pay attention all but 1 bullet hole in in this scene 26:00 is positioned exactly in the region where it shouldve hit Jules' (Samuel L Jackson) torso lending credance to his idea they shot the only survivng witness (accidentaly) also you see the very next hit Vincent (Jon Trevolta) dies Jules took the hint, Jules lived.
"Fun characters...but very quirky." Great description of your reaction video!
To answer your John Travolta dancing movie question, he was in Saturday Night Fever as well as Grease, both movies did feature some dancing.
Just came across your channel. I remember going to seeing this at the theatre not having any idea what I was about to watch. I’ve been a die hard Tarantino fan ever since. Jackson was nominated for an Oscar for this that he should have won. Loved your reaction. Subscribed and I look forward to more of your content!
Well, people will cuss and swear at the world because, quite honestly, the world is unfair. It truly is. That doesn’t mean it strips us from creativity and taste. Great clip from an amazing movie and, in my opinion, one of the top 3 clips from this movie, depending on your mood. I’d be happy to argue this scene is actually the very best moment in this film.
“But I’m trying, Ringo. I’m trying Real Harrrrrd to be the shepherd.”
🤣🤣🤣🤣your reaction to when he quotes the Bible and they kill the guy. "I don't think you can do that" and the look on your face CLASSIC
Absolutely. LoL
Hehe, you don't like blood and needles? Just like my drummer in my band. He once drove me to the hospital for an exam (stomach ulcer) and when the nurse came in to take a blood test he instantly got pale and shaky and had to leave the room. 😂
This is an amazing movie though. So well written with the tightest dialogue. Great reaction.
A going joke on cell w/m & cousin for about 10-12 years was (if we mentioned name) PRANK CALLER!
02:39 "That's one helluva date, ain't it"?
LMAO Imagine that, they meet for the first time, chemistry is amazing, both very impulsive, and then it just escalates from there.
Best worst date ever
New Subscriber. Love your vibes! The Fro wig was so bad that everyone started cracking up when Samuel L. first put it on. As they were all laughing and talking about getting a replacement Tarantino decided it was SO BAD it was GOOD. GENIUS!!!
Welcome to the family and I’m glad you enjoyed the video. Lol the fro wig was amazing.
Thanks for the content! BTW... There's a great movie that no one has reacted to called Breaking Away 1979 maybe they copywrite it. But if they don't you would probably get a ton of views. I look for it all it the time and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Thanks again and have a great day!
Subbed, that was great and doggo is gorgeous!
Welcome to the family. Glad you enjoyed the video and thank you for showing my babies some love.
@@J_EOMReacts You're welcome, good to know you!
Love your reactions! Greetings from Stockholm, Sweden
Thanks so much! Love seeing people from all over enjoying!
This has been my favorite film of all time from the moment i saw it back in 1994. Totally changed how i saw movies.
It's Marcellus soul that was removed under the bandaid on the back of his neck.
Hey! Love your reaction.
In case you don’t know it or someone didn’t tell you, the pawn shop scene was inspired by a disturbing thriller in the 70s called “Deliverance”, about a group of friends who are victims of a group of hillbillies in the woods. One scene is hard to watch but I don’t want to tell you what it is.
Hello. I just found your channel and I just watched your reaction. I really like it and I love that you have the dogs in the background they look so sweet. I love the way he or she gets underneath the cover. I can see how much you love them. I see the snacks. I am looking forward to watch watching your other reactions. 😊
Welcome to the channel and I’m glad you enjoy the video. Also thank you for showing my babies some love. And Romulus loves getting under the covers, his favorite thing to do with them is make a tent.
@@J_EOMReacts thanks for replying to me. At first you mentioned them but I didn't see them he must have been under the cover and then later I saw him go under the cover it's adorable
🥰
Hilarious reaction and comments. You should have been in that movie with Samuel Jackson and John Travolta.
I’m glad you enjoyed the movie. I would have loved to been in the movie. I would have asked them so many questions they would have shoot me lol
It’s funny you mentioned travolta and dancing because one of his first roles is Greece a musical about romance in the 50s & Saturday Night Fever a movie about disco
The,suitcase contains Marcellus Wallace's Soul there is a scene in the movie where you see a bandage on the back of his head, where his soul was taken from, he basically sold his soul to become one of the baddest gangsters to walk the Earth.
19:40 Bloop bloop, bloop BLOOP lmao that made me laugh pretty hard man haha
Man, I love your energy. Keep doing you player.
I truly appreciate that
