Irton Cross via Stock Bridge - Walking day - Wasdale & Eskdale E-Bike Camping Hol #7.
Here, on the last full day of this E-bike camping holiday, we walk to Irton Cross (a 9th century early Christian cross in the graveyard at Irton Church) via Stock Bridge, a walk of some 7 km (4.5 miles), taking in some of the rural local history of this area. On the way we see an impressively crisp and well defined holloway.
We often alternate cycling days with walking days - turn and turn about - so we neither get overly saddle sore, nor overly foot sore.
This is a walk easily made from The Old Post Office Camp Site at Santon Bridge, which is where we stayed for the duration of this holiday.
