Idk how I ended up here besides loving Lord Huron’s music but learning that there’s actual lore and theories around the albums is intriguing enough to keep me to stay!
I love this band, I love this album, they put on the greatest live show I’ve ever attended, I have devoured Strange Trails and Long Lost endlessly since my last break up and my father passing away, I thought I knew everything about these songs and still there’s more and more and more depth to them. Goddamn. What a band. Genuinely transcendent artists.
So I have a theory that strange trails and vide noir are kind of together(if that makes sense). In the song ‘dead man’s hand’ the summary is that buck Vernon finds jonnie in the middle of the road and he comes back to life( though your theory says that buck is suffering from hallucinations?) So if u look in the video “Products Of The Universe With Marsha Tanley” there are little snippets of the movie in the video. One of the snippets is Buck talking to someone in the desert that is of young age(and guessing from the vide noir trailer that the same scene has someone standing in front of a car with the World Ender jacket on) could be Jonnie. And in the clip of the movie jonnie says ‘Those suckers blacked brained me” So what if some people forcibly drugged jonnie with vide noir but jonnie came BACK FROM THE EDGE If u do see this comment and cover it in the vide noir episode that would be greatly be appreciated. Thank you!!
I think it was confirmed that Lee Green is actually the Fleur. It’s mentioned in the end of Vide Noir. I think this was pre-movie so it’s still a great analysis on that. Much love to work like this!
I don’t know if this changes anything, but Cobb Avery is mentioned in the “products of the universe” video. At the very end when the credits roll, it lists Cobb Avery as the electrician. That doesn’t prove that he is the world ender but I think it at least give more evidence to the fact that he does exist
Daaaaaaaaamn dude… this made me appreciate the songs I didn’t appreciate. Always been for the sad slow stuff by them and ever liked the faster outlaw sounding songs but now I see them so muc differently, like a handsome devil who wears a red bandana
According to IMDb it's in post-production and back in March it was picked up by film distributor Yellow Veil Pictures, idk why so many people think the film is toast. Also, in case you haven't noticed there was a global pandemic that drastically slowed down the film industry. Just be patient.
Strange trails I’ve actually pieced together a lot of it together well actually a few songs are a direct story together that converge and split into two stories. If you want to here if I can send you what I know
@@matthew2h2o40 in what I’ve interpreted was that he died in fool for love, and it’s confirmed, then the person in deadman’s hand finds them and tries to put them to rest, they fail and he just roams the desert (fool for love is in the west and we have a few deserts out here so it makes sense)
"Real fiction character" in reference to "Danielle" is a contradiction, isn't it? Not sure any of this cannon does anything for my enjoyment of the album.
I think you're mostly correct, I'd argue that is one of the major themes of the album and not necessarily the main focus of it. It talks extensively of the unknown, the things found way out there, the mystery and darkness in it all. You could argue that that is all a metaphor for death and I would agree with you to a certain extent. I'd also say that if any album is "about" "death", it'd be Long Lost more than Strange Trails. Thank you for the comment
@@AuthorMx Allow me to explain; My partner died three years ago now from a blood clot to his brain. Six months or so after his death, I discovered this album. I've played the album back to back thousands of times; Frozen Pines especially as it resonates with me the strongest, word for word, it's how I feel about his death. You have to listen close, and be able to fully connect with the way Ben sings. That is the magic that makes this album so magnificent is the upbeat sound of the songs, despite them implying death to one degree or another.

Before I knew this video I pieced together stuff and found out two characters he’s put together but I don’t know their names.
Its incredibly inspiring

I audibly said "Ayyyy" in agreement like 20 times watching this.
dude i just want to say this video was such an amazing primer on the lore and now im obsessed. like. the lore has become my favorite thing ever. tysm
Buck’s hallucinations possibly tied to the Vide Noir drug...?
I turned my idea of this story into a D&D one-shot.
oooo ive been really wanting to do something like that!!!! howd it go?
I'm thinking that maybe lily is the one in the abusive relationship with Big Jim, and Buck tried to save her.
The fucking commitment to this for under 500 views is insane.
Thanks for posting this! Your Lonesome Dreams analysis was great.
Wow, this is an incredible analysis, and you're a super engaging speaker
Awesome!!! I’ve been waiting for this!!

Who else knows that the body that’s found in dead man’s hand is the same guy as the main character in fool for love?
Keep it going dude! Your analyses are great!
"in time for the movie" you're so funny.
It will come out eventually, just keep hopin and dreamin

please i cant shake the feeling buck has a bigger role than what is only given in fool for love

Flat out, if you listen to the lyrics, the entire album is about death.

What song is that playing during the intro? The subtle classical background piece?
