Thick cut chops are for grillin' ... these are perfect for shallow fry, the wife makes them for me with mashed potatoes and green beans... one of my favorites!!
Mmmmmmmm, Oh YES !!!!!!!, Took me back many, many years thank you. Looks absolutely delicious too. I will definitely make this one. I think the memories are better then then recipe. But keep them coming. Love your videos.
"The money shot" and your talking about food bringing back memories...... I love you, Neeno! Will you make MeeMaw's Yakosoba in a video soon? PLEASE!?! Also the baked cheese chicken with butter noodles? I've tried my best to recreate that one, but I refuse to ask for the exact recipe from you know who, lol!
My mom would make seasoned cubed steak with mushroom gravy that she pan fried in her iron skillet and then placed in a casserole dish, covered with her mushroom gravy. Foil the top and place in the oven at 325° for 2 hours. Served it with a side of homemade Buttermilk Waffles and maple syrup. It was the bomb. Great video. Nothing better than childhood memories. ❤
Absolutely wonderful recipe! I love skin on mashed potatoes and peas mixed. Add to that country fried pork chops and gravy......now that's my last meal! Banging eats right there and thanks so much for sharing.
Love me some country fried chops as well as chicken fried steak 🤌🏼😋👌! Looks 🔥🔥🔥🔥 my guy! Lol I was thinking the same thing, portion for 1 🤣. That’s comfort food 101 folks, excellent cook brother. Cheers Y’all 👊🏼😎🤙🏼
NICE! Growing up, mom would make something similar, but she would ALWAYS cook the pork 'til it was dry. And the only way I could eat peas was smothered in mashed potatoes. You've brought back some memories with this one! Thank you for sharing!
@@TheFlatTopKing Oh!! Even betterer!! The best schnitzel I ever had was on the top side of Camp Humphries in South Korea. That thing was the size of a face! I don't know what they did to it, but it was better than any German place that I ate at.
I make this on occasion but never considered making it on the Blackstone. I just got mine, so I'm still a rookie. But all of my cooks so far have been very good. Love the Blackstone griddle!!
When I plan to leave the skin on my mashed potatoes I like to smoke the potatoes, so usually when I'm doing a fairly long smoke of something else. Poke the potatoes, oil them up add salt. Smoke until done at 225-250, the skins really hold onto the smoke, and you can double down with some smoked cheese in it. Man, those are good. I dream about those mashed potatoes sometimes.
Raymond you might be on to something....remember those loaded bbq potato skins..oooohhh man smoked potato skins....I will make something with those guaranteed....how long do you think
One of my favorite dinners. Like you, the perfect bite is layered. I am not a fan of plating on a board. Having done recipe development and food photography for years, I understand the why, but really prefer a shallow plate / platter. It's a trend but really not practical in the real world. Besides, I want my own pool of gravy on my plate! Nicely done!
I grew up in East Tennessee so I'm wondering if the white bread and butter is an East Tennessee thing - My grandmother did serve white bread and butter with every dinner she made - BTW - Loved the cook
I can't say enough about this one bro!! Food looks epic as always, perfect crust, mash, and that gravy!!! But the way you stacked up the bite with the mash and gravy holding those peas in place is exactly how we do it in our family and your dad and granny knew what was up with that bread on the side cuz you I know I wrapped it all up in that bread and made a sandwich lol!!! One of the best man!!!
I love pork chops but generally the wife makes them in the house in a skillet. I haven’t attempted to shallow fry anything on my griddle to date so this looks like a good first meal to try. I love mashed potatoes with the skin on and like a few lumps too. Peas…. not on my menu though. Have to be something else. I just Subscribed after watching a bunch of your videos. I appreciate your efforts. When we get home in a couple weeks I’ll be ordering some Smash and Shake That. 12:23
My wife and I made a good tag team when it came to our kitchen skills. I did beef and seafood and she did chicken and pork. She made the best pork chops I have ever eaten. But I think you could have given her a run for her money with this one. Also, peas on the flat top? I am impressed. I don't know how you got them to roll down the lenght of your spatula like that. I would have had peas all over the counter and the floor! You truly are The Flat Top King.
My kids think I'm weird when I use white bread for a hot dog bun or just eat it with butter at dinner. They say Dad, at least toast it with some olive oil and Italian seasoning
Those pork chops look delicious with mash potatoes 👍. Great recipe. Pork chops look so crispy and with that gravy wow. Great job Neal . will be getting some Shake It seasoning next week can't wait to get some 👋.
Never had the porkchop look that good growing up but did have that meal once in a while. Everyone was afraid to eat pork unless it was dried out or over cooked . Gonna have to do this one for sure. Thanks for sharing with us Neil and Amy. Stay safe and keep em coming. Fred.
That is one good looking dinner. I like breaded pork chops but my wife don't like the breading. She like boneless chops, and I like them with the bone so I can gnaw on the bone to get ever tidbit of meat the meat nearest the bone just seems better. Maybe there lives a canine within me as the love to gnaw in bones too. Now the gravy where is the straw. I enjoy a good gravy it good when the meal is done but there is gravy still on the plate and use that bread to stop all the leftover juices and gravy, Making the plate so clean no need to wash it just kidding but it's close. Skin on mash potatoes like them just a little lumpy for a rustic look made with butter and cream. I have to try your peas and mushrooms; as I like peas in a cream sauce with very small red potatoes cut in half. Sometime add mushroom but always garlic salt and black pepper. Won't be the best side with mashed potatoes in this dinner. I truly enjoy this video as it reminded me growing up have this a couple times a month the peas sometimes was replaced with other vegetables like green beans, coins of carrots, or sweet corn sauted or just fresh corn on the comb, either way they were smothered in butter salt and ground black pepper. Thanks for the reminiscing.
This brings back so many memories! This is still one of my all time favorite meals! All the way down to the buttered white bread. Great video! Loved the ahhh in the background waiting for her bite!😂
Nice always excited to see a new cooking video from you. You by far make some greatest recipes on UA-cam. Inspire me to broaden my own cooking knowledge and skills. ❤🤜👍
You did it again. Now I've got to go to Kroger again. Seriously...Great lookin' meal...except we don't do peas. But heh... You have one for Salisbury steak with the trimmings on the griddle?
haha understand...I dont have Salisbury steak but do have a country fried steak. With Salisbury dont you have to simmer...if so i would think its not a good griddle meal....would be hard...but if im mistaken help me
Man, that brings back memories. It’s a simple, yet delicious dish. I gotta question. I noticed that whenever you use a skillet on your griddle it’s always an aluminum or steel pan. Does a cast iron skillet work as well?
Personally i like the chunks and I like the skins thats where the good stuff is but but old lady likes neither so i use a tater ricer and theres no chunks lol but those look delicious lol
That's kinda like a chicken-fried steak but with a pokechop! I had to laugh about your mashed potato - skin-n-all! I like 'em that way (cuz I'm lazy), but my wife is texture-sensative (as I call it) so she peels them! I like tater skins and gravy too! I'll admit, I never would have put peas and shrooms together!
I love getting 1 1/2" thick pork chops, dry brining them overnight, then cooking indirectly and reverse searing like a steak. But fried chops are good too. I prefer not to bread them.
yeah I agree...during the holidays Costco has crown roast...i buy those and cut into 2 chops thick...reverse sear as well...probability my favorite....

When you use the dredging flour it's called "dirty flour." And it makes the best gravy. Already seasoned.
