Started checking out Kent's cooking videos the other night and my wife says, "why are you watching that cowboy? Turn that off, I'm trying to sleep." Well, yesterday I took out our 12 inch cast iron skillet, removed the sticky buildup that I thought was "good" seasoning and re-seasoned it according to Kent's instructions. Cleaned our oven too while I was at it. Today I marinated some nice pork chops, threw them in the fridge for a few hours and then tossed them in my medium hot, rejuvenated pan. The meat cooked up just like in the video and then I made the sauce. Wow!!! The pork was so tender and flavorful with a hint of lime and the sauce simply amazing. We enjoyed these chops with some of my wife's creamed spinach (which is delicious as well) and she says, "we need to try more of that cowboy's cooking."

I made this recipe, using what I had on hand (four skinny, boneless porkchops), reduced the searing time to 3 minutes on each side, and they turned out great. So tasty! I had to substitute a slice of finely diced regular onion, but I even had a little fresh thyme from my half-planted herb garden. Served the chops over noodles, with applesauce on the side. M-m-m! God bless you, brother! :)

Finally! A wonderful sauce for pan seared pork chops. You don't know how long I've been looking for something like this. When we make pork chops I have to wrestle the cast iron skillet away from my husband or he makes cream gravy that you could use as glue to wallpaper the kitchen. I kid you not. I then put the pan on upside down, so no part is touching the burner. It will quickly come up to heat, with no damage to the pan. Been doing this for years.

Yourself and Chef John of food wishes are in my opinion by far the two best chefs on UA-cam. I was curious if the two of you ever correspond. You both have a fun-loving nature and are great chefs.

This man seems so sweet! I think I’ll have to watch his videos more often because his voice put my toddler right to sleep, which is normally a task lmao. Also the puppy 😭❤️
Also, as far as that herb goes, you can put it through a mesh strainer and the leaves fall right off ❤
Great video all around though! Thank you!

Still remember my mother's. Roll the chops in flour and fry them in a little bit if crisco. Then she would make fond bread. Yeap she would wipe the fry pan clean with bread. We called it greased bread and we would fight for it.

Im a professional cook and i watch ur show for the first time and u are quite the chef. I love the PAN SEARED PORK with the green onion, pinot grigio wine. It looked so good upon completion and when u took a bite and sip that sauce, ur little dance inspired me. I went and purchased 4 chops and my lover made love to me so good after dinner, that i had to let u know. I'm a fan and have subscribe to ur channel. Keep up the good work. Bon Appetite from Chef D'Monty.

I can't get past that spot with "HAL's" eye turning red and saying "I'm afraid I can't do that Kent." I've replayed it four times now and the laughing tears in my eyes hardly let me type. Now I'm looking around for, what was it, a perfect 1:4:9(?) monolith and a few strains of "Also Sprach Zarathustra". Gotta move on ...
I'm sorry, Kent, but it really is funny. I also keep imagining the old TV show Rawhide with the cookie trying to get Alexa to behave properly out on the dusty trail long about sundown! You are good. Still trying to move on... must be one of those nights.

Love your videos Kent .I always learn something new. I was always enamored of the old west. One of my questions was how did the cowboys make coffee w/o a cup full of grounds. Cowboy coffee was one of my favorite videos. And all your cast iron skillet recipes. I wouldn't be without my cast iron skillets

Some sauteed mushrooms and onions in that cream gravy would've been a good addition, with a side of German spaetzle and braised red cabbage. 💙
