I had a similar issue, turned out that metal filings from drilling metal overhead had been sucked into the back of the motor. There is another set of connections at the back of the motor and the fillings were all sitting over the contacts as it is strongly magnetic. This was shorting those contacts! I carefully removed all the filings with tweezers and then it worked perfectly! This is a bad design that metal filings can be sucked in through the cooling vents, they should have some kind of mesh for the vents or the contacts should have some kind of covering to protect them.
Thank you for this video, I got given a brand new drill for free because it was faulty. Following your video i got the drill to work. I cleared all the silicon and disconnected the plug and re-plugged it in and hey presto it works.
I have this drill and when i drill into brick useing the hammer action it cuts off after a few second and the light blinks twice but when i press the triger again it works but then dose the same could this be the problem thanks
Hello. I have a question-problem. The “Forward/Lock/Reverse” button on my Dewalt drill is VERY loose and flimsy, floppy. How can I correct, repair this? Is it easy or difficult? Please respond. Thank you so much. I appreciate it.
If someone wants to see how to fix a dead brushless DeWalt drill, with the brushless driver board troubleshooting details, see here: ua-cam.com/video/G9Is2rokbUQ/v-deo.html.
Close, but nope, in this case it was from PVC Benches that had to be disassembled to have the seats replaced. They are made from the same thinnish rectangular PVC that these PVC Fences are made from. Definately NOT made for Commercial use at a Shisanyama Joint where there are a lot of Rugged Built Patrons who just love their Meat.

That connector is probably for the position sensors for the brushless controller.
I have one that works until the power trigger is pulled in quite far then it cuts out. Not sure what it causing that.
