    Panigale V2 and GSXR750 are two completely different bikes. No comparison. If you want reliable and cheaper to maintain and get parts/accessories for, get the Suzuki. If you want character, style, sound, looks, etc..., get the Ducati.

    I have had a 959 for about a month. Going back to a sport bike after a naked it definitely did not feel comfortable but your body gets used to it. After buying a naked bike I still craved the sport bike so now I have both, it’s perfect. The 959 (which has the same engine as the v2) is a great ride but once you put an exhaust on and a tune it is next level. After having inline 4s I think the vibration and roughness at low rpm from the twin adds character

    Coming from someone that knows all about Suzuki the GSX-R750 is amazing. The 749cc engine is legendary. I have the GSX-S750 as they share the same engine (slightly less power) and it goes amazingly. The power of that bike and the engine is absolutely beautiful so I can only imagine how good the GSX-R750 is

    I have a striple RS but i have ridden the SFV2 and the pani V2 Bayliss. If you are not financing i highly recommend buying a mint second hand bayliss for the same price as a base new Pani V2. the ohilns suspension on that bike just takes it to the next level.

    I currently own 2023 gsxr 750 , it’s phenomenal, the engine the power. But it’s time for me to go back to naked bike. I might pick up 2023 mt 09 sp (good deal) or 2024 mt09 sp. I need more something for longer ride.

    I have a 2023 panigale v2 and I love it, as far as a 3k accessory budget goes you can get the rear seat cover, evotech rad guards, mirror block offs, but if you want an exhaust your looking close to 9 grand for the half system and 14.5k for the full titanium akrpovic. However it sure does sound good and if you can afford it then defo get it.

      There’s quite a few full exhaust options for less than 5k nzd. I’d never spend 9 on an exhaust even if I could afford it haha. That’s crazy specially on a bike that only costs 26k

      The vandemon system is pretty good! Looks and sounds awesome just need to find someone to map it after installing it, I opted for the Akra system for my bike and it maintains its manufacturers warrantee as it’s approved with Ducati. The Akra system transformed my bike, also comes with the sprint air filter too. Definitely agree with you on the comfort level though!

    Since they are replacing the V2 I’d wait to see what that is. Personally I have a Royal Enfield Interceptor and a Ducati Monster S4RS. I loved sports bikes, I’m an ex racer and all that but don’t see the value of a sport bike on modern NZ roads. The reality is your MT09 can do everything the Pani can as a sporting bike apart from excel at trackdays.

    Depends on whether you are happy with the higher ownership costs of the Ducati? Everything else is subjective.

      Other than the desmo service every 30,000 kms what else is more expensive?

    If I were to get another midsize sportbike again it'd be a Daytona 675R. But I don't think i'll ever buy a sportsbike again unless it was an older bike like a 996. I just rather have something not racey when it's just going to live on the street.

    I test rode a streetfighter V2 and absolutely hated how lumpy and shakey the engine was below 6k rpm. Hard pass. The V4 was a different story though, I adored it. But ducatis are expensive to get and expensive to maintain

    • @captain_midlife
      @captain_midlife  2 місяці тому

      As far as I can tell the only part that’s more expensive is the Desmo service which is every 30,000kms

    How about the super sport

    • @pdublt3d
      @pdublt3d 2 місяці тому

      Yeah, a second hand 600 super sport would be a killer track/second bike. I have seen a few under 10k floating around. You'd want to be handy with a wrench though.

    If you're not 100% sold after test riding a V2 Panigale, don't buy one, especially after coming from a comfortable bike. You will regret it. I've only had sports bikes and I don't know any different, but some day I'll buy a comfy bike and it'll be a life changer 😊

    • @321haza
      @321haza 2 місяці тому

      @@bazitube390 if the R9 is as good as or better than the 2024 MT09SP, it sure can compete. (Just my biased opinion as I just purchased a 2024 MT09SP. It just does everything so well)

    I'm not a huge fan of modern sportsbike design language. They all look like transformers to me. This V2 however is an exception and I am somewhat obsessed with the black on black. It looks like something batman would ride. Then again I'm old. The heart says MV Agusta SV 800, the head says Panigale V2. And these are being discontinued next year so the next 12 months could be the last chance to get one with factory warranty. Decisions, decisions 🤔

    • @captain_midlife
      @captain_midlife  2 місяці тому

      Yeah I mean if I could have any and didn’t care about the price I’d get the V4SP2 or a new M1000RR. Probably the BMW

    • @MattNeighbour
      @MattNeighbour 2 місяці тому

      @@captain_midlife Just get an S1000RR, the M1000RR only makes sense as a base platform for race teams and is a downgrade for the street (eg no electronic suspension). The S1000RR is the most comfortable and practical sports bike there is and is great value compared to the competition, considering what features it has.

      I wish Triumph would do a 765 striple RR based on the RS with the faring and round headlight.

    • @MattNeighbour
      @MattNeighbour 2 місяці тому

      @@silent_mike33 have you seen the Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RR? I nearly bought one (I have a 675R) but the riding position was too extreme for my knees. Other than that, it rode great and looks amazing.

    • @silent_mike33
      @silent_mike33 2 місяці тому

      @@MattNeighbour Yeah I love the design of the 1200 RR. That's why I wish they'd do 765 RR. You could always put some risers on it? Re. riding position - I may be old but I'm only 5'10" and a half with short legs and long arms like an orangutan. It's a blessing and a curse 😁
