David, thanks a lot man you literally saved my day with everything especially the troubleshooting section. I wish you all the best in your journey and hopefully we can somehow get it touch one day to thank you in person
Great info David. Thank you so much. Another troubleshooting tip for anyone that still has issues with Gmail alias, is to basically change or remake your Gmail password. I had to do that since I have not changed mine in more than 10 years. After changing my password, plus turning on the Less Secure Apps security, everything basically worked.
This is how you use a domain name registrar for a pro email. It's a bit more techy and error prone than setting up an email with a hosting account but it can be done. Anyways, hit that like button and thanks for watching! ALSO check the trouble shooting section at the 5 minute mark if you're running into problems.
Hey! Nice tutorial, I used your video to connect my email 6 months ago. But right now, I can't use my redirect email, because google blocked "less secure app access" on 30 May, 2022. What's the solution and what you can recomend? Thanks
Just spent an hour messing with this... "app passwords" is no longer in the Google account menu and is now under "security" hidden at the very bottom of the "two step verification" section. That process failed a couple of times (said "service unavailable" for a while) but then I logged out of Google and back in 30 minutes later and it worked! Thank you for the helpful video.
@@DavidUtke Hello, blessings! Great video content. I'm new to this online world and I was looking to pay for an email service and this video came at the right time. Much Appreciated. I'm encountering this error message on the 2nd step ( Authentication failed. Please check your username/password and Less Secure Apps access for my email) I set up the Less secure apps to ON, my password is correct, I'm lost here. Can you help, please? Thanks again!
@@DavidUtke i really need to get it right. I tried turning on the less secure.. on my email account and i also tried the other thing u did ..still not working.
@@DavidUtke please can u send me the link to the site where u got help troubleshooting. I tried searching the errors like u said in the video, still couldn't find that page.
I'm not sure how your email forwarding is working bcus mine is not. I don't know where they're going bcus they're certainly not gong to my Gmail account!😫
The troubleshooting part of this video came in handy; I have been struggling all day setting up my business email. Now I am legit and can send plumbing quotes looking a little bit more professional.
Thank you so much for this video. Subscribed! The troubleshooting part was of great help and I finally have a work email. But I can only send and not receive. If you were in my place, what would you do to fix it?
this option is not available on my account they saying To perform this function from your account, you must first change your nameservers to Namecheap default. although my domain is hosted on hostinger what to do ?
Hi David, Thank you for a great video! I just purchased my first domain name last night. Had a lot of technical issues trying to sent it up. I finally got it to receive emails in Gmail. NOw my issue is trying to fix the "Authorization failed" error. I did everything suggested by you as well as the Google help form. I even set up 2 part verification on my iphone. Did it all and still stuck on the merry go round. Any suggestions? I'd like to skip using Hosting if I can.
Hi Auntie. I had the same problem "authorization failed" I CANCELLED 2 part verification. I couldn't even get PayPal working with A2Verification on my Gmail account. After turning off that feature, it's all working. Try it; maybe that's the glitch.
Hi David, I have hosting with siteground and have created a custom email using their site tools/Cpanel. Can I forward emails to Gmail and use Gmail to reply (similar to what you showcased in your video). Also, why did you buy an email from Namecheap when you can create a free custom email address using your hosting provider?
What if you're using digital ocean for hosting your website, and need to have custom DNS, what then? Since this is great but it won't work if you're hosting elsewhere and needs custom DNS.
Hi David, thank you for this video. Do I first need to create a private email through my NameCheap account? I did these steps and it wouldn't work for me. I feel I am misunderstanding one of the steps.
Thanks David. Easy to follow demonstration! Namecheap charges $40+/yr for email hosting service. Are there any other paid services you can use with your domain name, even though it is hosted with Namecheap? New Sub & great effort!
I did accordingly.... works everything fine... but when i use my domain email to send emails... they reaches to promotions tab of the receiver... what should i do?
Where the email lands up depends on Gmail and a lot of factors. The trust of your domain name, the content of the email, how people interact with your emails etc. I would reach out to Namecheap and ask if there is anything you could change.
Gmail changed the rules. You need to "Enable 2-Step Verification", then go back to Security and search "App passwords", create and use the "App passwords" instead of your Gmail one.
Perhaps, I don't recommend this way. It's more reliable to get a hosting account and to create an alias. However, people want to know how it's done with a domain registrar so I did my best to cover it and everything that could go wrong.
Thanks for content.. I am new to email marketing. I signed up for proemail service from Namecheap and not sure how to send bulk email. I see several other email send service, but not sure if I need a client to use with proemail or which client is best.
Does anyone know if I can use Yahoo mail instead of Gmail for this? I created a domain email in my namecheap account with my Yahoo email but it is not working. I did not get any email people try to send me at the Domain email address. I hate Gmail so I don't want to be forwarding my mail to a Gmail address
That's the negative of doing this. Honestly it's best to use an email host if this is important. Namecheap has some of the cheapest email hosting around.
I have a section at the end of the video that covers this. It's simply hit or miss, but you'll need to change a few security settings if you're comfortable with that.
I am leaving Namecheap, really bad, you can't have emails when buying the domain you don't have email hosting, you need to pay PER email. Is ridiculous.
Hello David, I bought domain from namecheap website, i want create my business email on the gmail. And i followed all the step which you siad in the video. But i am still unable create business account. Please help me out of this.
Have you tried changing or recreating your password in Gmail. If your password been used more than 5 years, it is best to recreate one. I did that and it worked for me.
hello, I tried this and when im at the smtp server part, it doesnt work. It says that it couldn't authenticate due to the username and password not working. The secure less secure apps function doesn't exist anymore also
Boy it was hard finding a good video on this, so glad for yours, and your troubleshooting made all the difference in the end. Appreciate ya.
haha that's why I made it. When I was trying to set it up, I was like wow this is super annoying. I need to make a video on it.

Thank you very much for creating this video, David! Quick question: If I update the Nameservers on the account, how would this process change?
is it possible to change the image of the professional email?

thank you so much i was having a massive headache dealing with this. But is there any way to put a custom icon for the 2nd account?
Ha, yea it is a headache for sure. For the email and all alias last time I checked it was only possible to have one logo.

Great!
What happens once we decide to have a website hosted. Does this same email get used?
Thank you for the video btw.
Sure, you can easily setup a redirect and alias: ua-cam.com/video/g4OTOjWehOg/v-deo.html
But when I reply they will receive the gmail address right ?
Thank you David!
You're welcome!
Thank you so much it's working just fine
As of May 30, 2022 Google has restricted asscess to less secure apps. This method as is will no longer work because Gmail will block your alias. :(

Correct, it's not perfect but a lot of people want to simply register a domain name and setup a custom email.

did you solve? please reply

I personally use Google Workspace for my custom branded email. I however use Google's suite of other services to manage team members though.
the emails sent end up in the promotions tab, anyone have a solution for this plz

I’m getting stuck in the password park for some reason. My password works fine except when doing this
Thank you sooo much!
No worries!
So i have to have a previous gmail account?
Yes you do.
Helpful video but frustrating. I can't get gmail to send mail through a different email address.

Gmail changed the rules. You need to "Enable 2-Step Verification", then go back to Security and search "App passwords", create and use the "App passwords" instead of your Gmail one.

Yes, all clients should provide the alias functionality. I used Gmail because it's the most popular. But I personally use Proton mail :)
You missed the big step that needed doing with webmail setup before you could do the redirect ???
Well signing up to Gmail is not too complicated so I decided to leave it out.
