      Hi.. I am surprised at how "surprised" people are at Black and Brown working together.!?
      Think of endless breeds of Dog.. black and tan.. almost all thoro'bred racehorses are Bay horses, aka Brown with Black points [lower legs, mane and tail..]
      I was around for the original Cafe' scene all those years ago.. there was NO old school. It simply didn't exist.
      If a guy put new "Ace" bars on a worn-out old twin.. Bingo.! Cafe Racer.. and the talk of the Cafe crowd. That scene.
      Wishful thinking perhaps.?

      Not really, brown and black does not go usually well together, every person who knows something about design will tell you that... ;-) But here brown is so dark, it looks almost like different shade of black from a distance...

      Brown and Black can look great together.
      That is to say, a black bike with a brown leather seat.

    Been planning on getting this bike for a long time and this is pretty much exactly how I've been trying to configure it via the Triumph site - except in green. Really glad you produced this video AND that we clearly share the same sense of scrambler style. Has just gotten me even more pumped for the day I finally own one.

    Hi Dutch, I’ve done all those things to my bike, Triumph certainly missed a trick on blacking out the headlamp bracket I think. I agree the seat looks good in dark brown, more old school. I’m going to a car trim shop to get my seat done, as it’s comfortable , which some custom seats are not. I’ve installed a K &N filter and the throttle is much crisper. Now she sucks well(😜) and breathes well. Is the bar brace and pad a Triumph catalogue part?
    I’ll have to speak to my dealer. Got the R&G tail tidy on mine and a small plate, net result = shit all up my back and helmet. Oh well, form over function as always.

    That's a beautiful bike and the thing you did with the tank is very inspiring. I got a grey ST. I wonder how it will look like on grey if i do the same :) The only thing that catches my eyes is the grey sprocket at the back. It will be great if it was black too.

    Man I was considering selling my '07 Daytona as it had problem after problem (and was recently stolen and recovered thanks to the tracker I have fitted) and wanted to get a T100 black, and a lot of the parts you've fitted are pretty much identical to the ones I wanted, only problem is it'll probably cost ~£12,000 with labour added in if I were to get all the bits I want.
    Biking is a fickle mistress :(

    Love this video and the one of Dan's T100. Watching them over for inspiration. Would love to fit those TKC80 tires to my new Black T100. Do you know what size you got that fit?

    • @BikeShedMotoCo
      @BikeShedMotoCo  6 років тому

      Street Scrambler wheel sizes are different from the T100, so you'd need to google the rim size, width and recommended tyre wall height for your bike, and stick to those dimensions with the TKCs.

    • @BikeShedMotoCo
      @BikeShedMotoCo  6 років тому

      Further to this, the stock sizes on the pirelli phantoms which come stock are 100/90 - 18 for the front and 150/70 - 17 for the rear.
      Dutch’s Street scrambler has a 19 inch front as opposed to the T100’s 18 inch front so he runs 110/80 - 19 there and a 150/80 - 17 on the rear.
      TKC don’t do an 18 for the front but some people run a rear although it’s not ‘technically’ advised.
      The sizes I run on my T100 are 110/80 - 18 and a 160/60 on the rear and those are Pirelli MT60RS.
      Lots of numbers there, but hope that helps!
      Glad you like the videos. [Dan]

    I have the same bike and it's great! until you forget to turn off the traction control and try to climb a fairly steep hill off road and the tire starts to spin half way up and the bike shuts down because of said traction control causing you and the bike to high side and slide down the hill. There is just no need for traction control on a scrambler, thank god I put on the factory engine guards because they actually worked and saved my cases. The bike faired way better than I did! I also found out that when the bike is on it's side on a steep hill it is virtually way to heavy to pick up by yourself, thankfully a guy was out shooting and saw me go down and helped me out, even brought me a brewski, which I desperately needed! JUST REMEMBER TO TURN OFF THE TRACTION CONTROL WHEN OFF HIGHWAY!

    Dutch, as you know (given the custom paint job, awesome btw) they are releasing 2019 scramblers. I'd like to matte black one fully...would you give me an idea of how to go about that with the new paint schemes? Matte Khaki green/silver and white seem like tough choices...should I just buy a black 2018 and go from there? I like the upgrades they've made for 2019, but the paint schemes aren't doing it for me...

      Mine was originally matte khaki green with matte black tail, mudguard and side panels. To get the finish I wanted, in the end I substituted the green tank for a "spare" from a matte black Street Twin. Not everyone has the resources to do that though - however, I could have had the tank wrapped matte black for about £150.

      I would do that deal easily. I'm torn though. I feel like I could save money, possibly, by buying this year's black model next year. But the new brakes, instrument panel, and power are intriguing. Two more questions, could you wrap the tank from across the pond considering I am in Washington DC and two, I would be better suited to get the green/silver new bike because it would be easier to wrap, correct? Plus it has the black accents versus the new white. Or does it not matter because the wrap will cover any color?

    Dutch, when you sanded the tank did you sand over the decal or tape it off somehow?

      @bikeshedmotorcycleclub i was wondering the same thing, it looks sooo badass with that sanded matte finish...it looks right up to the decal, must have been removed?

    Dream bike right there, what a beaut. Anyone have any 'first bike' recommendations for a clueless middle aged fool trying to look like Steve McQueen?

      This would be a great first bike but if you want something smaller and lower, look at the smaller capacity Ducati Scramblers or an XSR700. For lower prices Royal Enfield are great value and the new 650 packs a punch.

      Tail mount is a Triumph aftermarket item, I just cut it down, I believe this is explained in the vide.

      The handlebar is original, but I added the optional cross brace and bar pad from the catalogue.

      I believe British Customs sell the same one too dependent on where you are in the world.
      Glad you like the vids too! [Dan].

      ...it's fiddly to use and the rubber seal moves around. However, I'll keep it on the bike as it looks great and it does the job well enough.

    Dutch, its an incredible bike. It really has character. Regarding the pipes, were there any issues with fitting them? Were any adaptions needed? Also has it been remapped?

    • @BikeShedMotoCo
      @BikeShedMotoCo  6 років тому

      No issues, but you do need the sidepanel, and you do leave the OEM mounts hanging empty. If I was a stickler for detail I'd grind them off. Mapping is adaptive and it seems to have self adjusted.

      Bike Shed Motorcycle Club superb!! Thanks for the info. Really helpful. I'm hoping to sell my Striple this weekend and then replace it with a SS, think the pipe change will be the first job on the list. Will let you know how I get on. Also hoping to come along to the Lydden Hill Cafe Racer Cup as a spectator. Will be great to see.

    Hey Dutch is this the pre 2019 Scrambler with the lower HP? If it is did you manage to up the power with the exhaust etc...? Great to hear your mods.

    • @BikeShedMotoCo
      @BikeShedMotoCo  4 роки тому +1

      Mark hey Mark, Dan here. Dutch will likely not see this at the moment however I rode it a few times so I’ll respond. Yes it’s the pre 2019. Power increase was negligible if any in real world scenarios. Maybe a slightly crisper throttle response if you’re really looking. The main reasons for the upgrade to me are the weight savings, sound and look of this exhaust. However if you’re considering one, make sure it’s the right one. These are discontinued and harder to come by being the cat-less version. I think you can tell by the black heat shield the newer catted versions have. The part number should be A9600620.
