Great video! I am hesitating between Shure MV7+ AND SM7dB + interface shure MVX2U (to make it USB). Which one would you recommend? I have no gears and want to do video podcasting/ youtube interviews with remote guest using Riverside. I want to keep it simple but with good sound. Does the MV7+ requires an interface or amp boost to sound good? Thank you!
So the sm7db with the mvx2u means we don’t need the scarlet focusrite and the cloud like before. It’s sort of simplified and able to work as a usb connection making it more usable on other equipment. Maybe even as a usb microphone on iPhone?
I just wish the Shure Motiv app had a noise gate as well. That's my only dealbreaker because I have an untreated room, and so if I don't use a noise gate then you can basically hear all the ambient noise like my dog tip tapping around, a/c, etc.
I’m thinking best setup is: SM7B (original) + fett head + MV2XU MV2XU gives fett head phantom power to boost the SM7B I know it’s avoidable technically with the SM7DB natural pre-amp… but the aesthetic of the original SM7B is better 🫣 worth the trouble

almost perfect but wish it has physical phantom power buttons. An oversee from shure.
should i buy the scarlet 2i2 4th gen or mvx2u ?
I say get a Rode Streamer X - I’ve done a review on the MVX2U myself and wasn’t keen
