There's a non-zero chance that the MVX2u was designed around the existence of the new SM7dB. They're basically the ultimate portable studio-grade dynamic mic combo.
Is the noise-floor issue a non-issue with mics that don’t need more than a (+48) phantom power boost such as the Earthworks ETHOS? I’m very intrigued by this product for an iPad Pro single-person UA-cam narration setup.
Hi Bandrew, don't think you have done this yet but any chance of a review at some time of the Sontronics PODCAST PRO dynamic mic? I have just bought this and have to say it has a nice tone (for my voice) but I would be interested on your view on this budget mic. Thanks Buddy, always love your channel.
I have Audient iD14 MKII with sE Electronics V7 and i heard "hiss" noises from preamp. So, if i buy Fethead, i can use Fethead with my audio interface together?
or you just diy your own inline preamp which is pretty easy and way cheaper than buying, just 2 low noise jfet or a couple of cheap jfet like j201 in parallel for lower selfnoise and 4 resistor, the hardest part is making the enclosure for the preamp
Honesty, a really cool demo of how a fethead can decrease the noise floor and also of the coloration. I love the thumbnail though which shows just how ridiculous the set-up is. The extra length it adds to a dynamic mic is a bit ridiculous. You've got a sword sticking out the back of your mic that I would definitely end up swinging into my desk.

Good video… can I connect a Ribbon-Mic to the MVX2u? Thank you.
What's the other good 280$ interface?
Thanks for trying this out. I was one of those idiots shouting at you to try it out. 😁

Me too. :D

Sounds like a job for one of the $45 Klark Teknik mic boosters then....
