Hello! Thank you for the video. To me what you're showing in the vid is the Best Gimbal Vlogging Setup Ever! Whats the total weight on your setup (if you know)? Is there ANY reason not to buy the M and go bigger brother (due to smoothness of stabilization). I heard Zhiyun updated the firmware on crane M to withstand more weight. Im curious to know if the set below will work? Idea setup: Zhiyun Crane M Sony a6500 Sony 10-18mm oss lens Rode video micro
Hey there! Good question. I think the crane-m would handle that setup no problems. I think it would be slightly over the max recommended (similar to my setup above - I'm using the Samyang / Rokinon 12mm, which is similar weight to the sony 10-18), but I didn't see any loss of stabilisation at all. It would be safer to go to the bigger model, but it then you lose out because of the size. In terms of vlogging, your setup with the crane-m would be my recommendation.
Hey Ben! Nice video! I just got the M version to pair it with my a6300 as well. Problem is that the LCD senses the gimbal behind and it shuts off because it thinks I want to use the EVF. Drives me nuts! How did you get around this problem?
Hi there Ben, cool vid. just wondering what Rode mic you use on this setup .. I have the same camera and wondering if a Rode Video Mic Pro would be OK or would it unbalance it. Thanks
Hey mate, I'm using this Rode mic: amzn.to/2nWXuj4 I find it better because you don't need phantom power, just plug and play. It's less intrusive without the dead cat, but I just leave the windshield on because it just doesn't pick up any of that wind noise at all. Great mic, I highly recommend it.
Also, I'm pretty sure the pro version should be fine with this setup, you may have to sacrifice the quick release mount plate I'm using in this vid to help balance it though.
Hi, do you have any issues when trying to invert the a6300 with your crane-m? I am unable to due to the size of the a6300. Do let us know if you face any issues with that.
You need to make sure when you first balance it the arm joint is sitting to the right (when facing the camera forward). It does sometimes get a little stuck when moving from inverted and back again, it just takes a few twists to get it back, but overall I take that as the downside for having such an awesome small gimbal.
Hey there, I balance it the same way as I would balance it without the mic. Just make sure you have everything exactly how you would be using while filming on and in its position (lens caps off, lens on, mic on, screen out) and then go ahead and run through the balancing as you normally would. The crane is pretty good at holding it all together. :)
Ben Mack Motion A6300, Sony35 mm, Crâne M, same microphone than you. I know how to balance Crâne but the A6300 is too long for the Crane M for balancing it correctly, we cannot balance the last axes , the pan one I think, and with the microphone it is worse because we can only balance the roll axes (the second one) correctly.
That's weird. Not sure why it isn't balancing. It's likely the weight is throwing it off, I've only had it work with the samyang 12mm and the kit lens, I've tried the 18-105 but it waaay too heavy, haven't tried the 35mm though. The only other thing I would suggest is mounting the mic separately, maybe on a clamp on the gimbal handle instead of the camera, so it take sthe payload off the gimbal.
Hi Ben! I have question, is CRANE-M motor operates with audible sound? Just bought mine, so i'm wondering is my unit faulty. When I record in silent room, it produces silent annoying motor sound and of course it can be heard in video afterwards. Can you please comment if its operates completely silent for you or not? Need to know it asap, so i could return it in time. Thanks!
Hi Uldis, sorry for the late response. It shouldn't make any noise or at least any that should be audible in your final video. I would probably look to get it returned and checked out.
Good stuff thanks for the review. Just got mine today it's awesome!! Subscribed and thumbs up bro
Cheers mate! Enjoy, it's a good little gimbal
great video, I just made my purchase
I so need one of these.

I think you did a great Job. +subscriber #55

Does tilt angle and panning angle can control by app means slow down or increase! Thanks

I see, thanks for that I just wanted to know if I was the only person in the whole world to have this problem. Great review by the way =)
Yep. I'm sure we can live with it. Thanks for watching.
link for the tripod PLZ
Hey there... Here's the amazon link to the tripod. It's awesome because it really doesnt take too much room when open or closed.

does the gimbal work fine with the camera with the rhode videmicro on it in the inverted mode?
Hey Justin,
It would, but only when you hold it flat/parallel to ground. If you held it with the handle pointing toward you, it would hit the gimbal.
Hi, how can you balance your Crane M with A6300 especially with the microphone 🙄
Hey there, I balance it the same way as I would balance it without the mic. Can you make a video? Because I have problem with the last axes.
I might make a video, but there are already so many good ones out there on how to balance. Which mic/lens combo are you using?

Hi Ben, thanks for reply and this review, as it helped to notice that there was a problem with my unit. I returned it to seller. Good content, +1 sub!
Nice one! Hopefully, you ended up with a working unit!
