Subaru 4EAT Sportshift Harness

- Here’s a quick rundown going over my V2 sportshift harness for the Subaru 4EAT platform. Primarily the GD and SG chassis. If you’re interested in more information about this setup please feel free to reach out to me or check out my other videos.
The specific TCU needed for adding sportshift to your Subaru will be covered in a separate video. In short, it depends on what type of plugs your TCU has, and if your trans came with a MPT or VTD center differential. Other things like Turbo vs. NA, and VDC (traction control) vs. Non-VDC can also be factors when sourcing the correct sportshift programmed TCU from other countries outside the US.
The paddle shifter referenced in this video is part number 83156AG000.
Fitting paddles to a GD or SG require a new steering column cover to compensate for the width of the paddle assembly (34341AG080JC), and a new clock spring housing for mounting the paddles (83119AG010). A small amount of trimming of the plastic on both of these parts is required, which I have included in the directions for this kit.
i need to buy this harness
Sorry for the lack of responses to everyone. My wife has been receiving treatment for breast cancer since May. I’ll be going through the comments tonight and responding. Thank you!
Hi, I am sorry to hear about your wife and I hope the treatments go well. I hate to use this comment to contact you but youtube took away the feature of tagging people in my original comment. I don't usually use comment section on youtube but I hope I am not wrong and just don't know how to use youtube. I was just wondering how to purchase one of these kits? Sending my prayers and thank you for the videos.
@Tunrstyle Visuals I hope your wife is doing better, I hadn't realized when I commented previously. My mother went through the same thing not too long ago. Fuck Cancer.
I applaud your innovation in the Subaru community, it's what I love most about this group. Wishing you and your family good health and hope to see you return to the community.

Phase2 version1 or version2 4eat?
Nice work 👍
Hi got a problem with a sport shift. Standard setting is up shift move front down shift pull back, I want to change it in opposite, down shift push front, up shift pull back. Cane you tell me is it only changing wire connectgion (which) or must do more. Thanks.
Any update on this? I'd really love a parts list, like the TCU and shifter assembly , to do this. Part number information is a little sparse out there.

Just purchased a Sportshifter for my 08 Forester and need one of these harnesses. How to get in contact with you to purchase on of these
Hello, I already have the shifter and 05 Baja turbo tcu. Unfortunately in my 06 Forester XT the tcu is two pin where the Baja is three pin. Do you have a tcu that work and I'd love to buy the harness. Or a harness to go from two pin to three. Hope your wife is doing better. Thanks
Hey are you still making these I need a whole kit for a 04 wrx with the 4eat
I would like to purchase this kit for my 05 forester xt auto. Where can I buy this?
Can this be used on a 4eat from 2005 usdm wrx
Interested in purchasing a harness. Was wondering if you are still making them. Will send you an email. Would appreciate you letting me know. Thanks.
Do you still sell this kit?
Hi man! How can I find this white connector? Which is plugged in black plug on shifter? Maybe some name or code of this?
I’m currently doing this, I already found the shifter and waiting on confirmation on matching tcu. (04 forester XT A/T) it would be great to buy the harness if not I’ll build one.
Your 04 tcu now is three connectors correct?
@@thefisch1332 yes, currently has the stock usdm 3 plug tcu
From my research the 04-06 Baja turbo tcu should work for you then. Pins 3,4,6 are grounds. Pins 1,2,5 go to the tcu plug b54 pins 15,9,3. Your original shifter connector plugs into the other female connector on the new sportshifter
I have a 2005 fxt which was swapped to a sport shift by the previous owner, he swapped shifter, tcu and center diff. The sport shift upshifts fine but does not down shift. Is that more likely an issue with the shifter or could that be a wiring issue? Thank you for any input. Cheers!
That could be an issue with the wiring, either at the TCU or at the shifter. My guess is the previous owner might have gotten the down shift wire placed in the wrong slot at the TCU. Feel free to email me at DistantGarage@gmail.com
Hi, how do I reach for more information? Thanks!

Where do I get this harness?
Question. I already have a forester sg5 cross sport with the automatic sportshift is it for me possible to buy this kit and just install and connect the existing wires?
If you already have sportshift and a sport shifter in your SG5 Cross Sport, you do not need this kit. If you want to add the paddle shifters to your car, I would have to make you a different harness, it would only be the smaller harness for the paddles as shown in the video.
@@turnstylevisuals3297 Allright thanks for the information. So i need to buy paddle shifters and a cover myself and order the “custom” harness by you? Or is it possible to buy all the things i need by you?
@Tunrstyle Visuals already email you, m interested to buy those harness
Does anyone know if you can change the shift knob itself?
Yes, but keep in mind there is a rod that runs down the center of the shifter which connects to the spring loaded button at the top of the shift knob on a sport shifter. This button keeps the shifter locked into the selected position. This is because the Sportshifter has a straight line shift pattern instead of the zig zag design. If you install a different shift knob the rod would likely be pushed down at all times and you risk bumping the shifter into another position like neutral, park or reverse.
where can i buy that?
Bump need this in my 05xt

Hi, what is the sportshifter part number?
There is no 1 part number for the Sportshifter itself, at least that is what my research has shown. Instead it’s made up of over a dozen individual part numbers. I tried to figure out all of them but too many to track. Subaru changed the part numbers for each year and each model even though they did the same thing. Best bet is to have someone pull them from a junkyard for you in Japan or Europe or Australia.
@@turnstylevisuals3297 thanx a lot
