@@groundpounder24365 we had a crazy ice storm last week and the whole province lost power for like 5 days. Trees fallen everywhere. I’ll write to you soon when I get a breather. Have a good one also!
I want you to know that I bought the echo 2511 due to your suggestion. So far I'm happy with it. Climbing with a Stihl ms250 was causing severe depression.
I recently bought a Unicender kitted up just like yours. Seems pretty nice for a beginner like myself. Definitely worth buying the whole thing from Climbing Innovations.
Yeah it's a great company and a solid device ... I ran it yesterday on my 11mil Pelican rope and was happy with how it was performing. Stay alert out there!
I use a rope runner pro, but I found putting a chest tether on really helps keep just about any ascender up and from collapsing with no tension on the rope. I'm not sure about the uniscender though.
Another Awesome Job solo as I expect nothing less, That is a big bummer how the unicender slides on that rope. That knock off top handle saw seems great, Take care mate.
OMG... The world's longest pole saw.. 200ft. Nice... Where can I buy one of those?..😁😁.. And where's the small bus...(AKA.. yellow submarine) .. great work. .. finally a tree vid😂😂
That pole saw may be responsible for poking a hole in the ozone layer. The little yellow devil has been hard at work on the farm but hasn't seen a job in WEEKS! :)
It's so weird sometimes I feel that way to.but then I was over thinking it .or over estimated it's sketchy ness..did that yesterday finally got climbing again .in dead cedar ,and I think Cypress or yellow cedar had yellow buds on it ...not sure..thanks
With the uni,is best to use smaller ropes first then bigger as it wears at the wear points .was all happy when i bought mine liked the design and have it like you with Mumford drum kit but don't like it on single rope.guna get akimbo..I 🤔
Do you like the unicender, and have you experienced the locked descent issue with the new drum kit? Also, have you considered a portable capstan winch? You could easily drag logs right into your dump trailer.
The unicender is pretty good and I use it more and more now that I've figured out a rope that it will run on safely. Gotta pair it with the right rope. On complex climbs I still prefer the RRP though. Those winches are pretty cool but I tend to just rely on the winch on my truck these days ... or my mini doodle bug machine. The mini is great for hauling and moving stuff with a chain
With 11.7 mm you shouldn’t be experiencing that unless it has a lot of wear on it which I know it doesn’t Does that happen to be an 11 mm line? 🤙👍🤙 That was a cool vulture shot
That's 3 strand dracon looks like.spencer..I see you tried the hand assender .you can also connect rite behind the exit of maasdam but tight to the maasdam .that's way I had mention .I know educated climber does the way you are doing it..I sometimes just but it up to puller .going to buy a couple more massdams there cheap enough and that way I can use 2 . Hello from smokies
@@Sethhaun78 I'll have to try connecting it that way .. thanks for the tip! yeah I have two and they're great tools. Sometimes I'll set up a 2:1 with the Masdaam or run two at different angles.
Good morning Spencer! Glad to see a new video! While you were doing the hemlock thing, a couple times I said "don't cut your line!" but I don't think you heard me 😂 I bet you could rig up a pully type lifter for those big rounds to get pulled up into the Monster. Might be a lot of work and barely worth it, but could help save your musculature from strain as life goes on. Always interesting, particularly with sketchy trees! That dead one at the end had quite the bend in it, plus into those lines - man! But you handled it like a champ! Yeah the line that has the thingie that slips down? I would be annoyed but maybe the slippage is a built in, on purpose factor? Interested in the detail on that. Have a great day! Thanks again :)
When I was looking over the video I thought to myself "The saw is too close to that line!" a few more inches of separation would be a good thing. Always good hearing from ya! :)
Man...that was sketchy there at the end for sure. I absolutely hate when the power company doesn't want to deal with something in their right of way. They'll be the first ones complaining if something goes wrong...😑 All's well that ends well!
You said it. The homeowner spend 2 hours on the phone trying to get the power company to do it, and they said it might be scheduled for next year. Crazy stuff
Does the Unicender flatten out the rope after a couple of descents? My Roperunner pro does and then it slips on the third descent but my Petzl ID doesn't. Petzl ID stops right when I want it to.
I haven't experienced flattening though I've heard about it ... I know the Unicender runs better on one of my other ropes (a Pelican) so I should just stick with that one

The mods are great. I find it runs best on another rope (from Pelican) that's a bit fatter than 11m
That one made me a little nervous with the power lines. Good Job, Spencer. Thanks
