What we need is a GTA 5 style open world Star Wars game where you could play as a Jedi, bounty hunter, inquisitor, a Sith Lord or anything else. Every planet has its own style of map with so many different things to do. Would be amazing
Edit: everyone keeps referring to older games that are similar to this. The problem is that those are outdated graphically, performance wise, and just don’t have the capabilities that a game released in 2020 or later could have. Just saying

James Burns I’m not too happy with it either. I really hate flying games, so this game is a huge punch to the face for me.
I’m pretty pissed. Not only is this the only SW game in development right now, it’s literally only a flying game. They just need to make BF3 already so we can leave the buggy ass mess that is BF2 behind. And since this is in development, it’s going to be a long time before it’s even finished and they can start on BF3 if that’s ever coming at all.

Honestly I'm very excited for this. I'm a big fan of these kind of games. This will definitely be a nice call back to the classic Rogue Squadron games. I'm ready to suit up man.

The whole first film’s plot revolves around an epic space battle with all pilots aiding our hero.
Literally, not enough love is shown to pilots, and tbh I never thought I’d see a return to space combat Star Wars games.
I am so happy with this reveal, and I really wish people could stop screaming: EEE NOBODY ASKED FOR THIS, WHO EVEN LIKES PILOTS, WHERES BATTLEFRONT 3 OR JEDI 2.
Like, please, give us pilots a break.
We were completely forgotten in Battlefront 2, and completely ditched in Jedi.
We pilots have been waiting for this for a long time, and I, personally, can not wait to play this.

I miss starfighter assault, it was my favourite mode when I first played it 2 years ago. Now I can't find a single lobby to play it now so I'm really excited with this game.

@@flametoons42 im not find any issues getting into a lobby on PS4 and would have been good of they kept hero starfighter mode as getting a hero amd leveling up their ship takes time.

It died for the new battlefield. Because of battlefront 2’s shitty launch, the decision to cancel it was made way back when it seemed like the game was hopeless. Anyways, let’s hope battlefield and this new starwars game is good
The space battles were actually really fun in BF2. Maybe they feel like making it its own game will get it more attention. Still, its a huge risk, and BF2 definitely didn’t deserve to die for it
I loved Starfighter Assault in BF2 but the downside was that it didn't go into much depth. So I'm quite excited for this one.

I hope not. I have been waiting for a proper Starfighter game for years, I don't want it to be ruined by some crappy ground assault mode. We have Battlefront II for that.
Obasi Chukwuebuka as mentioned in the video, battlefront did exactly care about starfighters. if you want ground battles, play battlefront.
If this game is only “focused” on space combat, maybe it could be a more refined version of the og battlefront 2 space battles with the hangars and ship interiors that can be destroyed internally and externally. Maybe multiple frigates troop carriers and different types of missiles and capital ship turrets that can be customized cosmetically and for combat use (unlocked through in game challenges)
It should probably have the malevolence from the clone wars I think it would.make a great ability with the ion canon which could act like landos disabler from bf2

The cover art for this game heavily hints toward the battle of Scarif, as you can see the Profundity, U-Wings, and most interestingly the TIE/sk x1 which only flew at the Battle of Scarif and Jakku (as far as canon goes so far).

There used to be a Star Wars Rogue Squadron I forgot when it came out but my friends used to play it when we were kids so I figured it would be a Starfighter game
ive always loved starfighter assault but theyve never done anything with it im so excited
Hopefully there will be some sort of ship customisation, so you can build a ship that works how you want. For example, you could build something that’s fast and nimble, but with weak shields or something big, bulky and slow that can take a lot of hits

My guess is the VR flight simulator mission that was released a few years ago was a test for this.
What would be cool is if they made it like the old swbf2 where you fight in space against another capital ship and then board, sort of like the game mode we have already, but maybe better suited for ship to ship instead of ground fighting.
