Thank you for this. The first year my female Pit bull was spayed at 6 months.....shortly afterword she developed leaky bladder and has had it ever since...she is 6 years now. Maybe this will help. Wow! It only took three+ decades for an honest Veterinarian to come forth and explain why your animal has bladder issues. The veterinary industry needs an overhaul.

I used corn silk with my middle aged border collie several years ago and it worked quickly! I also recommended it to a friend for her old dog and she said it worked quickly and well. I bought it in capsules which I opened and dumped on his food for awhile. The problem never returned in his 18 years.
What brand did you get that worked quickly?

Solutions for Incontinence:
• Estrogen Hormone: Ensure an adequate hormone level.
• Functional Nerves: Focus on maintaining a healthy sphincter.
Natural Remedies:
1 Flax Seed Oil: 1/2 teaspoon per 10 lbs of body weight daily. (Try for 30 to 60 days)
2 Ground Flax Seed: 1/2 teaspoon per 10 lbs of body weight daily.
3 Corn Silk: 200 mg per 10 lbs of body weight daily.
4 Beta-Sitosterol: 40 mg per 10 lbs of body weight daily.
5 Snails: 1 teaspoon per 20 lbs of body weight once daily.
6 Lion's Mane: 100 mg per 10 lbs of body weight twice daily.
7 Cannabinoid (CBG): 1 drop per 10 lbs of body weight daily.
My 8 year old female German Shepherd is on Incurin (estriol) tablets. I feel her incontinence is directly related to her hip dysplasia. She was horribly inbred and we rescued her from a hoarder. Even her front ‘wrists’ are turned in from dysplasia. The Incurin helps immensely. She takes two 1 mg tabs per day. If I give her less, she leaks.
I have literally been struggkung for the past year to find solutions to increase my dogs hormone levels. Once her incontinence started at age 8 and it was due to a weak bladder. I knew hormones and the bladder were linked and trying to find a vet that would go that route with my dog has been a challenge.
Would you have better luck trying a veterinary school?
Making tea(infusion,3-5 minutes at a simmer/low boil) from corn silk is a traditional way to ingest,for humans anyway.
Can do the same with nettle(could do both in same tea),or for fresh nettle cook in water,they may like it mixed with their food.(excellent for humans,too,and not just for urinary. )

Same here. My dog was peeing so much and it turned out to be an aggressive tumor on her bladder. We're doing palliative care right now and it seems to be helping. She's on gabapentin tablets and Meloxidyl liquid.
Mine is 15-1/2 and I figured the same thing. He’s still an active happy dog with a great appetite though, so living his best life, I suppose.

My 12 yr old female Husky, unspayed, has incontinence & we’ve tried Proin but it hasn’t helped at all!! The vet said he has never heard of using HRT for dogs that aren’t spayed but she hasn’t had a heat for well over a year! She is overweight because she is a lazy girl but we’ve been working on it & she has lost about 10 lbs!! She has been overweight for about 6 yrs. I’m thinking her hormones are out of wack since she hasn’t gone in heat for over a year or more. I’m going to try one of these for 60 days to see if it helps then another if that one doesn’t work!!! We used cranberry extract for our boy dogs and it worked wonders. Still using for our females. We also use the other suggestions, and they are on our year round additions to their meals.

Dr. Jones, this all makes sense. My question is kind of related. What would cause a dog to involuntary poop? Just like a little nugget, not an actual bowel movement. I'm constantly finding a little nugget in the morning in my dogs bedding. Otherwise, they are voiding normally with no issues.

I use the water purifier, chlorine dioxide in my dogs distilled water, only part a. It helps with lots of things.
My dog had puppies before she was adopted from a shelter. She is a sweet loving sensitive terrier mix and pees when she gets nervous. I m glad you have all these suggestions. It tends not to be a problem unless we do a vet visit or I try to get her in the bath tub. I try to avoid situations that cause it 😊. The flax and phytosteroids sound like great options. I will try to see if there is a difference since it is healthy anyway.

My sweet Coco (7yr Red nose pit F/S) has accidents at night but i figured out it was food and treats. Watch out for diuretics, i.e., lentils, cabbage. She's accident free as long i monitor her food!

hi dr jones can you plz make another video about k9 loose tooth? my 12 year old has a loose molar last tooth in the right side its very small and I noticed its gray color and looseness during brushing. She has done awake teeth cleaning so all her teeth are healthy and clean and she lets me brush her too. Her left side doesn't have a last tooth either it fell out when she was young or she never had one. I am giving her supplemts for root health and immune and anti inflammatory, cbs, mushroom .. and Oregon grape. Should I also give her aspirin? I wonder if she has any pain as she does let me brush it good. It is very loose. I am scared of her going under anesthesia and am hoping it is ready to fall out. Any advice? She also has a front bottom tooth with long root that is extremely loose. I regularly test all her teeth.

Dear God, does anybody know how to stop your cat from peeing on EVERYTHING in the house?
I've had him since he was 2 months old (he was feral) and he's a year old now.
This just started about a month ago.
I've tried everything that has been suggested by the doc and any information I can find anywhere.
I love him so much and he's such a little sweetheart but his peeing on everything it's about to push me over the edge.
I'm considering finding him a new home.
It makes me so sad because he doesn't know anything or anybody, but me, it's just me and Theo out in the country.
He wraps his little arms around my neck at night when he's sleeping and when I hold him.
I don't think I would ever get over it if he was gone.
I am seriously at my wit's end.
I would appreciate any help or suggestions that anybody has.

You may have to transition him into an outdoor cat. If you find them a new home, people will get sick of that habit of him peeing everywhere and probably have him put down. So make him an outdoor cat.
Male or female? My male cat starts to pee everywhere after some outdoor cats began to meow outside. We wasnt sterilized. So we went to the vet, after his operation. He nevered marked/peed again
Stop all dry food, add a little water to his wet food for extra fluid. If you can, let him go outside a few times a day. Put down puppy pads in all the places he likes to pee. Try pine litter cheap easy to use, does not stink like other litters.
