The best flight i ever had was when i was flying alone as a teenager from London to Athens. I sat down in my seat, put on my seatbelt, and instantly fell asleep after having been awake for way too long. I was woken up in Athens after people were already getting off the plane. It was like teleportation from my point of view... best flight ever.

Lufthansa has always been my favorite over the years! First Class is always the best because of the people. Your video showed all of that...thank you.
I flew on this beautiful plane in the first-class cabin and had the most amazing experience from JFK to Frankfurt and back. The service is just unparalleled; the flight attendants are fantastic. Way to go Lufthansa. Also, the first-class lounge to the plane transportation at Frankfurt Airport adds an extra layer of magnificent service.
747-8!!!! Most underrated modern plane out there. This magnificent airplane needs to be in more airlines.

The A380 only has sold more because EK bought way too many with their oil money. The 748F will be in production longer since the nose door on it is something only the 748F can offer.

Sturmalex For most people, long distance flights are never cheap, not even when flying economy. Sure, the flight is part of the holiday, I did indeed realize that, but I'm still neither willing nor able to pay thousands of dollars for it. I'd rather go on holiday a few times a year instead of spending all my money on one flight. It's a question of priorities and it's not like you can blame others if they don't want to spend their salary of three months or so for one flight.

Love the Lufthansa first class. Simplified and comfortable cabins wins over too much unnecessary gold bling and motorized drinks storage.

Flew 1st class with the from Boston to Bangkok, and I sat in 1A as well (on the angle of the nose of the plane), with just a German couple 3 rows back, with me on the BOS - FRA segment...What an incredible 10 hour layover in Frankfurt. The sleep room, spa and food/drink were beyond amazing ! Damn you, Lufthansa...you've raised the bar forever !
Amazing! flight review! I am actually from Bangalore, and about 7 years ago I flew the same flight from Bangalore to Frankfurt, except it was operated on a 747-400 and I flew economy... Wow hasn't technology changed! That 747 had no PTV's! Glad to see that first class flight was terrific!

Barbara is a peach. In the future, it's always nice to have a small gift for your flight attendant. Something as simple as a gift card or a nice scented candle makes a warm impression and secures an immediate bond of courtesy. Such a beautiful aircraft, dining and service. Thanks for sharing!

The lounge lady’s voice is so soothing! Thank you for not jamming your camera in the workers’ faces. I’ve seen certain travel vloggers do that and it makes me so uncomfortable on their behalf.
It looks great but i think the seat is a little too small and the privacy is too low. They are slowly decreasing first class seats so why dont make privaze rooms like emirates?

Lufthansa is my favourite Airline, regardless of which class or plane Im flying on. Theres nothing worse than having to pay for extortionate, yet crap food on board a budget airline, or being harassed into buying 'scratch cards' that I would never even consider buying.
Have flown Lufthansa with their Asian partner airlines (Singapore Airlines,Thai) from Melbourne Australia to Dublin twice in the last two years as an economy class passenger. Am flying them again on the same route this year. Fantastic Airline, great cabin crew, comfy seats. Awesome video. Danke.

Love this! My first flight was on a 747-200 series I think. I was also my only trip on a 747 and was way back in 1989. They let me look in 1st class upon disembarking. You did a wonderful job capturing the experience, your joy was tangible and infectious. The 747 Queen will always be my favorite aircraft. Thank you for sharing.

The Frankfurt 1st Class terminal never gets old! I always get the schnitzel with a side of hollandaise and a few slices of the Prosciutto (neither of which you would eat!), try a few if the apple schnapps and of course, a rubber duck. 5 ducks now. Flying again next month. Sure there are flashier first class cabins but you can't beat Lufthansa imho. Thanks Dan!

Had a flight in exactly the same seat, 1A on a 747-8 from London to LAX...about 4 years ago.
Was a not intended best flight ever. Back in the good old days it was possible to upgrade a United standard Eco award 65 K miles to anything Star Alliance First Class Saver for a mere 10 K miles. I was already blown away by the Senator lounge in Heathrow, private shower room, which of course I had to use, although I had just showered two hours before ahead of my departure from MUC, and the flight with just 3 folks in First Class was fantastic, really the very best ever. Spoiled forever, and have never flown less than business since.

Love that attitude, same here :D! Thought I was the only one in the universe with this vision at things. I never got what people have from spending as much as a middle-class car on a flight only to sit on the same metal tube for 10, less or more hours. At the end of the day they all come down in the same airstrip, only that one burbs the lobster out and the other one enjoyed his coke :D. I mean, if anyone granted it to me for free I'd test it too, but not for that money. On NO airline.

My BEST FLIGHT EVER too, was on a Lufthansa B-747-8, in FIRST Class, from Frankfurt to Mexico City, and had booked my flight on seat 1A using some Lufthansa's Miles & More miles, as I fly with them a lot. Simply THE BEST experience ever on a long haul flight (I fly quite often for work, mostly on "C" Class - but Lufthansa's FIRST Class is something out of this world! Simply AMAZING!
I am happy to know that someone else has had the same great experience I had on Lufthansa's FIRST on a B747-8 in the best seat 1A and enjoyed every single minute out of that flight!........ and to share that experience with me (here) too.
The B747-8 that I flew on that day was delivered to Lufthansa only a few weeks before my flight, so I had the opportunity to also fly on a brand new B747-8i, which is my favorite plane - I am huge fan of the 8747s....... so, I have to tell you that I had the BEST flight of my life that day! I am happy that you did have that great experience as well. Welcome to the Club! ;-)

Please forgive me if I sound a bit uh, jealous, but wouldn't you have wanted to record every bit of that experience? Okay, maybe not, but I probably would have, just because I'd want to remember the entire experience. Not to mention, I love long flights like that, because I'd be able to get up and walk around inside that marvelous airplane. I've been totally blind since birth, and I flew in the B747 Special from New York to Paris, France, and I regret that I never got up and walked around during that flight. I had wanted to go upstairs, but I was nine yeaars old and a very nervous flyer back then. We were treated like royalty, even though we flew in Business Class with our two cats. Have you ever recorded an entire flight, and if so, where did you go, and how long did it take to get there?

I've been through Frankfurt's airport twice, and my favorite things about this airport is riding the bus around underneath all the big planes.
I can only dream of flying on board a fresh new 747-8, let alone anyone's first class. Lucky lucky!

I fondly remember LH First Class EWR-FRA in a 747, but that was back in 2006. You can't beat the updated service, but very hard to fly on these days, very expensive - there is still nothing like a 747 up front, the only plane where you are in front of the pilots! The 777 and AB340-380 don't cut it, in my view. I once flew in First Class on South African and my wife and I and my friend the only ones in first from CPT-JNB-SID-ATL on a 747.
Another fantastic trip all 747's JL JFK-NRT, the UA NRT-HKG, then SQ HKG-SIN, BA SIN-SYD, the topped off on a Qantas 747 in 1A SYD-LAX-JFK. A dream trip. Im retired now so haven't flown on the 747-8 or the AB 380 and really miss it but live vicariously the videos like yours - not everyone enjoys or appreciates flying up front, but glad to see that you did. The only difference is that i would have had a few drinks and some wine to smooth things over. Great video, thanks for sharing.

Super cool. It's kinda sad that they didn't bump some of the economy passengers up to first class though. Seems a bit mean considering the whole section was empty.
Can't Bille, 1rst class is meant to be exclusive. I would not want to pay for first class and have persons who paid $420 reaping the rewards of my efforts.

Monarch97 it was around when airliners first started, disappeared, and came back like 25yrs ago and is coming to an end, and that doesn't mean it's eliminated. Atleast until more people can afford it rhen they might bring it back
I have flown quite a lot with Lufthansa and always enjoyed my time onboard. One word of caution though. Lufthansa do have Boeing aeroplanes in their fleet. Check before booking as it is not certain that you will get a flight on an Airbus.

I totally agree with you Daniel about the cabin service and food. I flew First Class with their 747-400 to Singapore, 747-800 JFK/FRA and A380 from Frankfurt to Johannesburg. Flight experiences I'll never forget.

I had the same experience about 5 years ago flying LH from BOS to FRA. I was the only passenger in the upstairs first class cabin. Greatest flight experience ever! I still haven't figured out why they were flying with an empty cabin.
Pay $20,000 for a first class ticket. And this guy gets happy with a comb, toothpaste set etc and thinks first class is mind-blowing for giving out these.

I’ve flown Lufthansa all classes a lot in my lifetime, it was always a pleasure. 1st class is very cool. Once when they lost my luggage they gave me an allowance to shop for necessities and a cab brought my luggage to me once it arrived. Incidentally Lufthansa doesn’t lose much luggage, but they route it a lot so it does not arrive when you do, they actually have an office at the airports for that reason, if they wanted to improve they need to get the luggage in with the passengers. That said I only travel with carry-on these days, even internationally.
