Hiked and camped there in 1969. It poured for hours. luckily we 3 women got the tent up. It was not fun. But enjoyed it all. It was popular forever and still is. Bring bear, skunk, coyote, whatever spray.
you must be super Cliff......hiking all over the place, running up and down mountains and still looking for something to do. you are like the Energizer Bunny you keep going, and going and going and.............always another mountain to climb.......safe travels, Cliff.
I just watched a video last night about Hellbenders in Eastern Kentucky. The authorities are banning the building of cairns because they destroy the habitat of the increasingly rare Hellbenders in the streams. Thanks for sharing the video clip of the wild turkey. I so often hear them roosting. Neat to see one.
Truly enjoyed this hike, just beautiful and thanks for taking us alone. On your friend totally understand, makes you think why. And the turkeys are so cool.
Beautiful video those pink flowers you saw are ladys thumb they are edible and are a vegetable they are filled with vitamins minerals and have some antimicrobial and anti parasitic effects as well also very helpful for the digestive system
Dunnfield creek recreation area. There are 2 trails you can take to Sunfish Pond. The AT or the Dunnfield Creek trail. Be prepared to get wet if you take the DCT. Quite beautiful though.
One year we hiked up to Sunfish Pond at night and slept in the tall grass. The next day while swimming in the pond a bear approached our campsite, climbed up the tree and grabbed the pack and was swinging on it until he bit the rope. Him and the pack came crashing to the ground and he proceeded to rip it open and consume the contents. We were scared. The bear was old and smelled really bad.
Great hike..gorgeous scenery..that lake and its surroundings are so peaceful I could feel it..I enjoyed the stone structures on the lake shore..that was interesting..and those wild turkeys, just reminded me of thanksgiving dinner..and sorry to hear about your friend. So, all in all I got to go on a hike, got to see a place of meditation, got food for thought and got hungry just looking at the turkeys..can't wait for the next video..thank you again, until next time! We'll be waiting at the corner to jump in your truck.
I am sorry about your friend's situation. It seems no one understands how actions can have an affect on others until the unthinkable happens. Try to forgive them for your own sake. I enjoy your videos and have begun to visit some of the locations you have highlighted. Thank you friend.
Good grief my friend, are you a machine? I looked ahead and you did make another stop at those mines! I wouldn’t be shocked if you slept for days following. Turkeys!!! So so cool! Have never seen wild turkeys. Showed them to my daughters, then named the last two Thanksgiving dinner and Christmas dinner. They both smacked me and said I wasn’t nice. I’m so sorry your heart was burdened for your friend. Pray for them and let God bear the burden. Peace.
great video! Love mount tammany and mount minsi! They are definitely one of my favorite hikes in New jersey. just posted a video of my recent hike at mount minsi! Everyone check it out.
the rocks would end the trail for me....maybe not a lot of people there since that is no place for amateur hikers. Were you trying to say your friend threw away his life for a stupid reason when there is so much in life to enjoy and partake of if you only look for true pleasure in the things we are given for free.
Beautiful!
