It turns out they didn't have a cable TV subscription, so no way the kid watched the show.
And King David man of God had incesting children --- so just the mom has to watch the kids?
BTW the young viewer who started that fire went on to say that he never watched beavis and butthead and he didn't even have prime time. His mother was just on drugs
I remember a disclaimer would be shown before the episode. We knew we were watching an animated show and not to try these things.
That disclaimer came on after the fire episode
My parents would watch Beavis and Butthead with me when I visited home during college. To this day my dad still busts out a "hey baby" from time to time. So I don't think those years were all that bad...even though MTV certainly hasn't been the same since the late 90's. I want Celebrity Deathmatch to come back!

I actually heard a different story about the kid burning the trailer they apparently didn't have cable TV so the kid didnt see the show. But its the media don't let the facts get in the way of a good story. Same with blaming Columbine on Marilyn mansion and doom.
I wouldnt doubt for a minute that they scapegoated MTV or had a pirated copy.

Many actually DID see the Home Improvement episode, as it was a part of the "There Goes The Neighborhood" VHS tape from back in the day. Granted it was heavily censored/edited, and kind of wondered why it seemed shorter than the other segments on that tape, with not yet previously seeing the full, uncut version to it on TV at the time myself. Way Down Mexico Way (which was a two part episode that was eventually cut to only a single one without the drug smuggling subplot from the second segment to it), and Stewart's House also got VHS releases on the "Too Dumb For TV" compilation, but never came stateside, while being only available in the UK, and Australia. That along with Comedians, which was on the "Still Stupid" VHS tape which only got an AU release (albeit in censored form) as well. The At The Movies, Ball Breakers and Incognito episodes were also banned, but At The Movies, & Ball Breakers were both at least featured on the Too Dumb For TV compilation as well. Incognito on the other hand (like with Heroes) never got an official home release anywhere, and was very rarely shown for that matter, due to the highly sensitive subject of a student bringing a gun to school. And this was obviously way before the Columbine High School Massacre happened, along with when school shootings began to become somewhat rampant as time went on too.

Every argument for banning comes from the one or two in the lowest common denominator. In the early 80s the scapegoat was Dungeons and Dragons, Judas Priest, Alice Cooperand Ozzy Osbourne because some fans killed themselves or others. More recently its been video games. The counter argument was if this so harmful why is it only this one? If you dont know the difference between fantasy and reality, you shouldnt be unsupervised.

It's so stupid to blame a tv show for the actions of anyone. It's the parents who refused to talk to and teach their kids about the dangers of the real and how tv isn't real. Blaming books, television, movies and music is just an excuse to let the idiot parents off the hook. Censorship is dangerous and wrong. I don't see anyone trying to censor the Bible and there are plenty more atrocities in there then this silly tv show.

It seems that, in 2008, the kid who set fire to his house was quoted as saying: "I literally NEVER saw the cartoon. How could I? It was 1993, my Mom was a drug addict. We couldn't afford cable!"

Beavis and Butthead didn't have a fanbase that would do whatever they said. They had a fanbase whose parents were terrified they'd raised children who would do whatever they said.
One more thing! They should do a final episode by introducing these 2 bastards to their kryptonite! There would be a story written on them being put through a few trials that would teach them the most profound lesson, and they would come out the end as actual good to the core teenagers with a promising future ahead! Much like Scrooge in a Christmas Carol! What a Twilight Zone twist! Ciao strangers!

ah, why any parent would allow their children -- even immature young adults-- to watch these shows is beyond my understanding. But, as an adult, I can only encourage freedom of expression in art, that makes me catch myself laughing at stuff I'd find seriously offensive in real life. Maybe that's why they've been banned. People generally don't like a mirror held up when they're not in their perfectly controlled persona...

What a bunch of totally WOKE BS. Put those episodes back on. Beavis and Butthead are absolutely hilarious, and I had such a crush on Todd from this series. I would love to be the girlfriend, or wife, or sex slave, of a real life Todd. He was a total badass, and so sexy! ♥♥♥
