You have to create a fire with alcohol and drip salt water on it, then shine a low pressure sodium lamp on it. A sodium lamp is a special yellow light that makes things containing sodium appear black. The fire is burning salt so therefore if you shine the lamp on the flame it will appear black. Without the lamp the flame is just pale yellow so it's technically not black fire, but its as close as you'll get to it.

    1. Grind up some sparklers and make homemade thermite
    2. Put some lithium in a divot in a block of dry ice with some water and see if it will burn
    3. Run a ridiculously large amount of voltage through some light bulbs in a series circuit and make them simultaneously pop
    4. Put a stun gun or some electric current near a metal spinning fan blade

Putting a wire of sodium metal on top of the flame would change the color to a brilliant yellow, same with the potassium for the purple flame.
