Hi Christine, Thanks to you I've started enjoying knitting. You've made it simple and easy to follow. I knitted my first Hi-LO sweater and it turned out awesome :) :*
I just made this sweater for my sister in law as a birthday present and I want to say thank you for making it possible for me. The sweater is really nice and i know she will be very happy with it.
Hannah Frimpong thank you for taking the time to tell me😊 I hope you enjoyed making it, I'd love to see a pic of it. Can you share on instagram?!

It would be great if you do.
You do have magic in your hands.

Thank you for sharing this :) It's beautiful. ♡ Love your tutorials. Xxx
Hi Veronika, thank you for sharing this lovely pattern. I am sort of new to knitting...and I guess I started with a different, a bit bulkier yarn (Bernat Alpaca) so it looks sort of chunkier and larger...could you please tell me what would be the measurement of the front in cm, width in particular, I guess I could always modify the length. Thanks a million!
This is an amazing tutorial, thank you!!!
Yay!!!! I love your chanel and I'm happy this video is out iv been waiting!!!

I love this!!!
Thank you
I know I'm way behind but I just completed this sweater... well, almost. I have a couple questions. In the pictures of the sweater, as well as the little video of the young lady modeling it, it looks like the neckline and was fine tuned. It looks like perhaps you gave a finishing edge to the neckline and if so, is it possible to share what you did? Also, my sleeve openings could also use a touch up. Any tips on what we can do to clean up those openings? Thanks so much and thanks for the video and pattern.
Would love this sweater with long sleeves. Can you show how to do this??
Hi, is it possible if i do the ribbing on below part then i increase the stitch after ribbing, i have increased for 12 rounds then i continue without increment but now it looks so weird, any advice?
Thank you so much for making a sweater video!!! Question, how can I make it longer or tunic style?
bless you. for doing a knit a lingr
Hi! I was wondering if the needle size 9 circular is the same width as the size 9 straight needles. Because I'm looking at my needles and your size 9 circular needles looking way wider. Thanks in advance :)
Hey yes it should be!
Thanks. I just finished my sweater and I love it! Thanks for making this video :)
hello i was wondering if i can make the sweater shorter and maybe instead of broken rib a lacy stitch perhaps??
Hello, sorry for bothering you but is it possible to make this long-sleeved? If so, could you show me how to do that ?
Yes so what I would do is after sewing the two pieces together, pick up stitches around the bottom of the sleeves and go around and use the same pattern of stitches like the rest of the top. You could click on the ravelry link of this sweater and go under the projects tab and see if anyone made it long sleeves and they might have info on how they did it.
+iknits hey how long does it take to finish it ???
-kiss from Indonesia
Did you feel that the sizing was accurate?
Go to the description and click on the first link, which is her blog...on that page she has notes that she wrote down. One of them was saying that the size was too small for her...people before told her that she is a tight knitter so maybe that's why? Anyway, the note she wrote down are pretty useful, you should check it out.
I'm a loose knitter (plus, I'm also using slightly thicker yarn, and thicker needles), and I am actually knitting the sweater right now. Casting on 81 stitches seemed way to wide, so I changed the number of stitches. Not sure if it will turn out right, but so far it looks great!
@@LegoGirlMOC this is an old comment, but were you happy with the finished product?
@@abigailr3250 Wow this is an old comment! To be honest, no haha. It depends on each person, but I didn't like the sleeves. It also didn't fit me very well, that's the hard thing about knitting clothing items....This was my first knitted sweater project so I was fairly new to it all. If you want to knit this video's sweater to try it out, go right ahead! I don't know if you're a beginner, but this is a great first knitted sweater. Let me know of you have any questions.
I'm currently crocheting a blanket and my next project will be to tackle www.yarnspirations.com/red-heart-big-comfy-sweater/RHK0129-017241M.html again which is my favorite sweater so far. I will be knitting a new one with adjustments because I wasn't satisfied with the first one I made. It just didn't fit right.
great job☺what size is in europe (small, medium)?
I want to try this sweater. My question is can you make this sweater in the round so you don't have to make 2 pieces? Thanks!
You can try! That would be great to not have to seam them together!
I am looking forward to trying out my skills with this pattern - love the slouchy tunic look - but I have to ask... what is the horizontal crease I see in the pictures on the front of the sweater you are wearing? Also, in the pictures on Ravelry, are you wearing the L/XL or S/M? Thanks Veronika... and you did a really nice job. It looks fantastic and thank you for sharing the pattern with us. I appreciate it very much.
L Furry
I like this!! thank u
At the beginning of the video when we're casting on, does the working yarn and the tail yarn have to be on a specific side? Also, couldn't I just do a regular cast on? Or does it have to be this pattern?
I think you can
Can I do stockinette stitch instead of that stitch?
Hello! I'm confused..after you've done the increase rows for the sleeves 4 times..you continue in the pattern like before (p1,k1b,p1) until you have 6 1/4"?
Yep that's what she said
hiya, im confused, at 8.30 your showing how to increase left and right. Do i follow how you are showing it- P1, M1R, K1, M1L. Or do i follow the pattern P1, M1R, *P1, K1b* M1L, P1?
So you p1, m1l, then work in the established pattern so if it's supposed to be a k1b next then do that. If it's supposed to be a purl, then do that. I might have done the wrong stitch while I was recording, but it all works out! But yes, follow along with the written pattern because I didn't make any changes or anything. :)
+iKNITS thanks
+iKNITS how do you block the sweater??
what is the length of the back piece?
What would I do if I wanted to make it long sleeve?
How can you predict how long to make the tail so when you finishing casting on you don't have too short or too long a tail?
And can I just crochet the bottom to make a hem?
Leave about a 6 inch tail and start wrapping your yarn around your needle. For this pattern you would wrap your needle 81 times so 1 wrap = 1 stitch. You can use this technique for any pattern. A crocheted border would look nice too. Hope this is helpful and have a nice day. :)
I love your sweater I did five for my grandkids i find it so easy how you explain it I am trying to knit the sleeve in the round but I am having problems with the pattern What is the pattern call help ?
Chendra Baksh hey the pattern is short sleeves. If you're wanting to make long sleeves then you will have to pick up stitches around the short sleeves and find a pattern you can follow to help you figure out how to decrease the sleeves. Let me know if you find a good sleeve pattern!
Would this work out alright if I used size 8 needles and upped the stitch count?
I would go ahead and try it. I am using size 10 knitting needles, and slightly thicker yarn. So when I casted on 81 stitches, it looked way to wide (plus, I'm a loose knitter). I'm hoping that it turns out all right.
So if I were you, I would knit a little bit using your size 8 needles and still cast on the number of stitches that the pattern requires. Once you have an idea of how much smaller your sample is compared to her's I would measure the piece that you have against yourself, or how big you want it to be. Then you have an idea of how many stitches to cast on.
For example, I knitted a little with the cast on number of 81, then I measured it against one of my sweatshirts. So now I'm knitting with the number of 56. Hope it helped!
Do you have to block the sweater?
If you want it to lay right, yes
What do u mean by that?
+PHAT PHAM before I blocked it, it was very poofy and wasn't the right length-too short. When I blocked it, it stretched out, the knot stitches looked prettier and it was the right length.
Do you have to do the last step?
What step?
Hi this is my first knit, alot of mistake i've did wrong a few times, and start from beginning :(
Can you show me how to reverse back?
você podia por a legenda em portugues😵😵
you should make another video but using circular needles instead because I don't know what to do when I knit in the back your just doing it forward and u don't say what we have to do if u agree like this comment please
Hey, actually I do tell you what to do on the wrong side. At 3:00 and then at 6:46 I explain that you repeat rows 1&2.
***** oh im so sorry I misunderstood im so sorry but thanks for responding now I can do it thanks
+Verenice garcia no problem!
can i ask how many grams of yarn you used?
Joanna Ng .
Can I use size 8 straight needles.
Jiya Patel if you’re a loose knitter, you might be able to get away with a smaller size, or you could use thicker yarn but I would strongly suggest using the same size needles if you want it to turn out correctly.
What do I do to put on a long sleeve
Chendra Baksh you pick up the stitches that are at the end of the short sleeves and then you start knitting the sleeves in the same pattern. You'll have to decrease though
👏🏻😍
is it for size L?
No it is size S
Is this pattern is for size small or medium? Thank so much for details.
Hi , can I do this in the round, thanks?
You can, but will have to change a few things to do it that way.
iKNITS thank you but can you help me, please? Because I am really bad with seaming, thanks
NgocDung Nguyen help you with what?
iKNITS I think I figured it out now. I just need to cast on even stitches and then follow the pattern. Thanks
NgocDung Nguyen awesome! Good luck let me know how it goes
Do you have written patterns?
Chandra Rana yes. The link is underneath the video in the description bar. Let me know if you can’t find it.
@@iKNITS I've just found this KAL. I don't see the pattern. Is there a link?
Laurie Matthias yes the link is in the description under the video.
Decide what you're making a video about! You don't need to show us every stitch! This should take 10 mins., tops, and it's a half an hour! Make a different video, if you must, to show how to cast on.
And with all the dubbing around, you failed to mention the most crucial fact about casting on with long tail: The difference between the tail, and the working yarn. You hold the tail off to the left, to be the base, and it's very important that the stitches are made with the working yarn, the part that actually leads to the skein -- or else the project will be very, very short. Thanks for the pattern on ravelry, but please focus your videos to keep the time short. And plan what needs to be said!
Hi Evie, if you didn't notice, the title of the video says, "knit-along" so that is why I teach and show every step. You say my video is too long but you want me to be more detailed with the cast on method...
(I don't, btw.) You don't knit the entire sweater with them, so it's not necessary to go incredibly slowly for simple things they can get elsewhere (why show the cast-on at all?), and then faster when working on the stitch particular to this sweater. People are going to watch before they go out and buy yarn, etc., to get an overview of what it would be like to work on, and in the finished product. You're not going to knit along with them every stitch, every row, so a little streamlining will bring you more audience and not take anything away from the people who actually knit-along.
+iKNITS Your videos are all great. I don't think that it's appropriate for someone to complain about how you've presented your great instructions. Let them create their own videos in what they consider to be the "right" way! I look forward to more knitting with you!
Not a matter of "right" -- it's a matter of useful or not, and watching someone chug along with plain stitching is a waste of the viewer's time. It is a constructive criticism. Another waste of time: Mindlessly praising something instead of making useful comments that can improve future videos.
+Evie Hammond (truefeather77) I show how to cast on so that they don't have to go find another video. It's all in one. Simple, easy. I understand that there are lots of people that are in different levels of knitting-from beginner to advanced. and everyone learns differently so it is IMPOSSIBLE to make everyone happy. Some people need to see everything in order to make it. Some people don't. So if I cover all my bases, then I know I am helping the beginner levels needs. If the intermediate and advanced knitters don't need to see everything, there's a fast forward button. I put what step I am on on the top of the video so it's easy to skip a step or fast forward. You might think it's a waste of time, but to someone else, it's perfect. The way you wrote to me on your first comment was not constructive criticism. You were attacking me (note the exclamation marks at the end of the sentences). If you don't like someone's work, that's fine, you're entitled to your opinion. If you actually want to help me out and tell me what I can improve on, I'm happy to hear it. But the way you came across was not respectful. and the only way to help someone out, to build them up instead of tearing them down, to give them constructive criticism is through respect and respect only.
