Wolf of the Aurora 4 years ago The Battle Cruiser Auroa is a legendary War Hero ship, that I'm really glad it never got scrapped, because that would have been very bad if she was broken down.
Wonderful program. I am Japanese woman and really know little of world history These wonderful programs you put together fascinate me and I look forward to each new one. I want to thank you for your time an efforts to put forth these wonderful looks into history. Thank you again.
Aurora's crew survived Tsushima because they were already accustomed to being shot at, after numerous friendly fire incidents while making the journey to Vladivostok from the Bearing Sea. The Voyage of the Damned is a good read.
Yea its epic story of poor discipline and terrible gunnery and poor leadership..2nd squad it's so crazy ..attacking thing boats and missing..I think they managed 2 hits themselves on themselves before the admiral got decapitated...
Wow . . . A beautiful ship with a truly rich and amazing history. Possibly the most incredible story not just of a Russian ship, but any ship. The fact that this ship is preserved and well cared for to this day is a gift and an example. Yes, warships are built to kill and destroy, and we shouldn't forget that, but they are also so much more.
Every time I see one of these Naval Legends with the actual ship it brings a tear to my eye its nice that people care enough to preserve the history and story of these steel beasts for future generations to enjoy
Thing is, they tend to do these Naval Legends episodes on ships that actually survived as museum ships, hence the amount of US ships in this series, the only exception being the Yamato. The Yamato however was filmed with a massive 1:10 scale model, I'm not aware of anything similar existing for the Bismarck. So it's not about profit, it's the chosen format for this series that kinda limits it.
This is such an interesting series! I love watching stuff about military history, especially WWI & WWII. I mainly study tanks and all around general knowledge, but these help me learn about a subject I don't know much about. The mighty ships of war and the navy's that used them.
I wonder if they could do USS Laffey DD-724. In a japanese aerial attack the Laffey took 6 kamikazies and 4 bombs (or was it 4 kamikazies and 6 bombs) and remained afloat. She is now at patriots point where USS Yorktown CV-10 is also anchored. They did a naval legends on Yorktown once.
Hello from Tennessee, i'm always happy to see when countries preserve their history, especially warships. Very good video, this is a beautiful ship, I hope it stays this way for a very long time! The Russians have preserved a very important part of their history
Interesting, can you make a naval legend video on Yukikaze? Rumor said that this ship sucked the luck out of all other IJN warships to survive the hardest battles with almost no damage dealt to her.
I doubt it. Tier III cruiser Oleg which is tested atm seems like a more appropriate choice. Giving away a premium ship that is in the premium shop would be a dick move towards the people who bought it (including me).
Aurora's been given away before and probably will again in the future. When that happens anybody who already owns the ship gets the doubloon value instead.
This lacks the full story of the amazing journey to Tsushima, which involved Aurora getting hit multiple times by friendly fire because Russians couldn't into naval warfare. And this was just during the JOURNEY alone. Aurora got hit by friendly fire again during the actual battle of Tsushima.
I would really like to see one of these done on the Royal Navy's Nelson class battleships. I've always been fascinated with them and their 3 forward turret design.
during the October revolution aurora was promoted to order of the October revolution which has auroras on the badge where she fought and in ww2 she had the order of the red banner
Wargaming is seriously detailed when making the world of warship, the detailed everthing except the cru of the ships and submarines(the only negative side),wargaming also have give us history and detail about ships we play at,makes the game more cinematic and beautifull, keep up the good work, wargaming!,i am a heavy battleships fan's,unfortunately i lived at Indonesia,so i didn't stand a chance to visit one of historical mighty ships but i played world of warship for years now,i also draw many many ship at the back of my school text book, lol, anyone as crazy as me??? :D
This ship has also played a very minor role in the naval history of the Philippines, since she and some of the other survivors of the Battle of Tsushima retreated to Manila Bay and was interned for a year.
They were designed to be the best, they met enemies face to face, ensured tragedies and enjoyed victories, the went down in history due to the bravery of their crews, they are the ships that deserve to be called naval legends

Excellent documentary, I really enjoyed it. There was great footage and detail, I have recently purchased a model of this great ship, and this video will help me in its construction.
They picked up ships that server as museum, like Aurora, Belfast or many US ships remaining intact first, because it's so easy to gather information for them.
What is the music playing during the ship specifications portion of the video starting at 2:40? I tried to find it in the WoWS OST on Spotify but I couldn't find it.
I love that the other ships of other nations have colorful combat rich histories, but every Russian "legend" is just "the ship got the shit kicked out of it" or "it DIDNT get shot and ran away" or "It sat in harbor and did nothing" NAVAL LEGENDS!
There are literally 4 vids in the series about Russian/Soviet ships, and yes Aurora is far more of a legendary ship then for instance the USS Massachusetts.
Aurora
A ship with a rich history.
And a beautiful name.
Funny history the I'll fated 2nd squad

Not that I'm complaining but we need a naval legend on Bismarck. It's doable
mybugatti100 yes, if Yamato got an episode the Bismarck deserves one
mybugatti100 true I would like to see one on the enterprise
Well, they got Iowa and New Jersey done so I think they'll do any ship, just the ones that brings them more profit
Or H.M.S Hood and maybe her being available in game.

To be honest i see this as better than most of the History channel such... they do a really good job.
Why do you compare it to Histrory Channel? Better to compare it to some channel about histrory
agreed.
Aurora is a excellent ship. She has rapid fire and is versitale. Along with Varyag, two of the best Russo Japanese warships to have in the game.
I want a forward firing torpedo tube on my Aurora :o
Sorry bro, lot of ships with underwater torp mounts in game are castrated of their underwater weapons :)
They do have the capability to do it though. Remember the April fools event?
yeah so bad it was *April fools*
There battleship Rodney and Nelson has tube torpedo

It is actually cut off below the water line. The real hull is long gone. This thing now is a weld-made new hull.
Interesting, can you make a naval legend video on Yukikaze? Rumor said that this ship sucked the luck out of all other IJN warships to survive the hardest battles with almost no damage dealt to her.
Maybe but I notice most ships they do is still around but the few they did was sunk was ment to be the best in the world
Thanks Azur Lane, I’ve never got interest in this ship until I rolled her as my first SR in the game, which led me to watching this~
I suppose Aurora will be a quest reward for Christmas and that's why she's being profiled?
I doubt it. Tier III cruiser Oleg which is tested atm seems like a more appropriate choice. Giving away a premium ship that is in the premium shop would be a dick move towards the people who bought it (including me).
Rumirumi meavy give away one of her sisters ship?
They gave away tanks like that in World of Tanks. Usually just a cheap low tier tank and if you already owned it you got the gold equivalent.
Aurora's been given away before and probably will again in the future. When that happens anybody who already owns the ship gets the doubloon value instead.
Remember that the WoT developers are not the same as the WOWS developers. IIRC they are associated with Studio Lesta and were acquired by Wargaming.
Beautiful ship and well made tribute. Thanks.
Most beautiful, historic ship in the game. It's my favorite in my port!

Build during the height of the Industrial era, survived both World Wars and is still in service, now is some soldiering even for a Machine Spirit,
2:50 When mentioning the draft of the ship you state "20 feet, 12 inches." As there are 12 inches in a foot, this would simply be 21 feet.
