At least this guy actually shows the process of soldering the mod chips on. Unlike the viewbotting parrots that just regurgitate steps they copy pasted from the internet and skip right over to the finished product.

I wanted to thank you for your guide. I just finished the mod with my switch after buying a microscope and practicing a while with SMD training kits before attempting the work myself.
You can only appreciate the work you do once you did it yourself, everything is so tiny and I'm always afraid to break something.

Theoretically, it is easy to solder such tiny smd parts. Just don't keep your solder iron too long on one spot. Doing this increases your risk to damage these parts. I solder permanently with 350 degrees and never had any problems with it.

    • @The1Outsid3r

It won’t kill the board or create bad joints. It just takes a little more patience and is easier on components. A hot solder iron can lift pads and break capacitors. High heat is easier to work with but you have to know what you’re doing and work quick

The issue is that some of the pins are ground pins which are connected to a huge copper layer which acts as a heat sink. The solution is to heat up the whole board e.g. using a hot air gun.
